Repenting of sins is a work. We don’t turn from our sins to be saved. You can’t add works into the gospel and think that’s how you get to heaven. Christ is the only way, not us. 1 John 1:8 says if we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. We need to stop trusting in our own works to either prove or believe that we are saved. We are saved once we believed in Jesus. Read the Bible in its context. Jonah 3:10 also says that God repented so repent means a change of mind, not to stop sinning.

One failure of your argument is that you do not make a valid inference. You see, even if some people who believe the free grace doctrine also think that the Spirit of God can indwell a person to no effect, that doesn’t mean that the doctrine itself actual implies this. So, what you need to show, but have not shown, is that the free grace doctrine itself implies that God can indwell a person to no effect. The free grace doctrine is not wrong just because some other thing believed by some of the same people is wrong.

The KJV is the best version to use as your main, not NKJV, not the Geneva, the KJV, I'm not even going to mention the rest of the translations, due to their missing verses, mistranslations and misplaced grammatical marks to create a different meaning. This is what I do in my Bible study and times with God. I had said for years: Father God, I want to hear Your interpretation and only Yours. I look up (Google) words in Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic. The Holy Spirit will guide us more and more, and with Scriptures and videos to watch, books to read.... I am always so amazed. God is not about confusion. So you’re saying, even though I have received the Lord Jesus as my Savior and placed my faith in the work He did on the cross, I’m not saved? I have intentionally sinned and I have desired sin and I have not and do not always choose to do the right thing.. and I know you are guilty of these things too because you’re human. We’ll never be good or holy enough. If I have to look to myself which I’ve done for a few years and have been miserable, I will never have true joy in my salvation because again I am not enough but Jesus is.. isn’t this why we look to Him? We are to believe that faith alone saved us. We are to let Him work through us and produce good fruit in our lives. Philippians 1:11. He will finish the work He started in us.❤
