What do you expect from someone thats been a "Christian" for 12 months? The dude doesnt read his bible and pray for discernment and understanding. Instead he listens and looks to other people. @@chanty2652 thanks my sister. I don’t consider anything that isn’t listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 or the Ten Commandments a sin. But these things you listed can be impediments to righteousness, such as laziness, it can eventually lead to disobedience. I set a pretty high bar and sometimes I fail to meet them. Jesus talks about keeping his commandments OUT OF LOVE. which is the entire "Free Gracers" theology. God has paid for our sins so we WORK for him out of gratitude that's it. Jesus is perfect but we cannot always BE PERFECT. Paul literally stresses we are NOT saved by works but by faith alone. James says we must work but its out of love on why we work for God. @@Kwakzino Chief, intentional sin can be forgiven if it doesnt become habitual and you fully repent of it. David murdered in adulterous influence because of his lust for Bathsheba. He was brought to truth of his folly and sin by Nathan and he brought himself to repentence... He fasted and earnestly asked God for forgiveness. He recognised his sin and i see no other accounts of David sleeping with his soldiers' women after Bathsheba. Back to my earlier point, if you fall to your sin in the intentional sense( which one will be presented with an escape of choosing a righteous path , via the conviction of the Holy Spirit) , it was by your premeditation to choose to fall to such sin. You can repent of this sin and choose to sin no more by increasing your spiritual maturity and spiritual discernment. If one continues to participate in a sin willfully(premeditated) , then unfortunately you are practicing sin and are not born- again. Unintentional sins on the other hand occur in the reactionary sense(beyond our cognitive control) and its these sins that the grace of God and blood of Christ covers. Once you are able to make this distinction between the 2 types of sin...you'll have a lot more discernment in your journey with Christ.

The word of God makes the distinction between the inward man, who is born again of the spirit and the outward man, who is born of the flesh. John 3:3-6 2 Corinthians 4:16 The inward man, cannot sin, because the inward man is born of God. That's the spirit within you that knows right from wrong always and is the spirit that convicts you, it is given to you, the moment you are saved and sealed, the same way the holy spirit descended upon Jesus immediatly after baptism. The outward man, your physical body, is not born of God, it desires to sin from the moment you are born to the moment you die. These two natures of you are constantly at war. Because these two natures within you are at war, you are encouraged to walk in the spirit which to simplify, is to meditate on God and his word. This will lead to a Godly lifestlye but not a ceasing of sin. Galatians 5 16:17 When you walk in the spirit, you produce the fruits of the spirit, you don't stop sinning. Galatians 5 22:23 God does not change your flesh and it's desires. You don't feel anything, you simply know that bad is bad and good is good, that is what repentance is. Young Don is preaching, that if you are born again, your flesh is changed and you won't willfully sin, which, is, garbage. And his claim to not willfully sin, is the sin God hates the most, pride and self righteousness. If this were the case, that would mean David, the man said to be after God's own heart, the man who God himself exalted, was not born again. David, commited adultery with bathsheba, got her pregnant, solicted alcohol to her husband (Uriah) and tried to get him to sleep with her so that it would cover up her pregnancy, when that failed, he wrote a letter, ordering the execution of Uriah and gave that letter to Uriah so that he would deliver it to the executioner himself without his knowledge. This is King David, the ancestor of Jesus, who despite WILLFULLY commiting all of this sin, was saved and loved by God. What about Peter, the man who Jesus himself, chose to build the Church on, the only Pope directly elected by God, lied and denied being a follower of Jesus, three times. He was chosen, saved and loved by Jesus himself. Jesus in fact, told Peter beforehand that he knew he would willfully sin. So is Don greater than David? Is he greater than Peter? Or Paul? Or Solomon? No he is not. We all sin daily, willfully, spitefully, if you don't think so, then what is your need for a savior? You need to study the bible in it's entierty, learn from true teachers, not false ones that jump from doctrine to doctrine, Don was a calvinist, denies the trinity, then began keeping the law of moses as if he were a jew, then denies the deity of christ and now is preaching a works based salvation. It will take prayer to find out how to incorporate ministry into your work. Also, you could work a lot during the week and then serve in the church where there is a need on the weekends if it is hard to incorporate ministry into your work.

In this verse Jesus was responding to the pharisees who despite seeing him performing miracles still wanted to see a special sign that he is the son of God. So by the "sign of Jonah" he meant that he would die and and be buried and resurrect after 3 days just like Jonah was buried in the belly of the fish for 3 days. The fact that he was able to accurately prophecy about his own death and resurrection was enough for people to believe that he is indeed the son of God but as James 2 says; that belief has to be accompanied by deeds of righteousness because just as the body without spirit is dead, faith without deeds is also dead.

It has been my experience as well that many people who believe in that doctrine think that repentance from sin is not necessary. He simply showed that Scripture refutes that particular belief.

Peter was NOT saved when he denied Jesus because Jesus hadn't died on the cross yet. The Holy Spirit is what keeps us from sin, Jesus said that he will send the comforter when he ascends into heaven. And tipping at a restaurant has nothing to do with salvation

How does not eating with a brother or sister who’s commuting fornication, adultery, drunkenness, etc. a contradiction of the free grace doctrine? The church is supposed be be the light in the world. The world is watching Christians and it’s just not a good witness when the world sees Christians who are committing such grievous, outward sins if our goal is to build up the body of Christ. But Paul isn’t even suggesting that these people aren’t saved. “For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore put away from yourselves the evil person.” he says that he only judges those who are in the body, so these people who are committing these sins are Christians. This verse is a prescription for church discipline, and this is one way God chastises His people “But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.” (1 Cor 11:32) Gods chastening is for our growth, and proves that we’re actually his children -“If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.” (Heb 12:7-8) -“Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” (Heb 11) I just don’t get your point, how is church discipline incompatible with free grace?

@@kiana4803 Thats a good response. However, it’s been my experience that most of the people in your cohort say they have no need of turning away from sins at all. That statement (not saying you) alone is evidence to the contrary of their so-called faith. Perhaps, it’s the same as people believing that I think repenting of my sins is what saves me. I don’t believe that. In other words, truly being born again is evidenced by a new heart walking in holiness, among other things. Hope that answers your question

Sister, since you’re making a case for something, can you point to a place in Scripture where the Holy Spirit stops us from sinning in lieu of your choice to walk away? The Holy Spirit convicted me of sins in my life, and because of that grace, I chose to walk away from them and receive life (2 Cor 7:10).

Paul’s letters and the Word of God instruct us in the Way and the Holy Spirit gives us power, love and self-control and He convicts us, comforts us, guides us, gives us the desire to obey Him and enables us to understand God's Word, reveals God's thoughts, teaches, and guides believers. Faith is trusting in the Lord and what He says in Scripture. Asking Him for help and guidance and receiving and resting in His Love. Of course as believers we should be obedient because of who God is and what He has done for us. Through belief in His finsihed work we do not need to doubt our salvation or “maintain” it with our works of obedience. Trust in the Lord! Keeping the faith! Learning from/abiding in Him! I believe what the Lord Himself has taught me. That once a person has believed and put their trust in the Lord for their Salvation then they are saved! For a person to actually place their trust in the Lord for their Salvation and believe the Gospel they have to put away any belief that they themselves can add to the finished work of God.

@@christinagrant3252 I completely agree with that entire statement. If anyone has said "repent to BE saved," that is not what Scripture teaches. I think what most people in the circle are trying to say that if one has no repentance, the truth is not in said person (1 John 2:4, 3:6). To that end its important to sharpen each other so that we do not fall away to believing we can go on as we once we're. In that sense, repentance leads to life. The book of Jude (I think verse 23) talks about literally "snatching souls out of the fire," and to "teach some with compassion, some with fear," for the purpose of showing the seriousness of sin in one's life, so that they may turn to Christ in faith. I think all of us here are wanting people to be saved. Peace to you.

Kick out people who continue to willfully sin. They are causing others to stumble by their sinful habits. Read Hebrews 10:23-39 for a warning to those who think they can live in their sin after being born again. God bless.

@@t00psy I believe it's talking about unrepentant sin, read Romans 7:14-25. A lot of people struggle with drug or lust addiction, with the drug addiction being chemically induced, and I think that they'd still be able to go to Church, I don't know though

In that exact moment you are referring to, Jesus says in Luke 5:31-32 - “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” He was reclining with them to tell them to repent and believe in the gospel. If they did not receive Him, He tells us to "shake the dust off our feet" and leave that place. For "it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah than that place..."

Though our body is dead because of sin, we are BY NO MEANS to live according to our flesh. Here is verse 13 from the aforementioned passage: "For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live." Simple as that. I pray that God reveals this wonderful truth more and more to us who seek after Him, so that we may be truly freed from sin--not just in concept, but in PRACTICE. AMEN.

That sounds real good but you forgot one very important thing here, John 6:44 tells us that no one can come to me unless the father draws them, salvation is a supernatural act by a sovereign God. Jesus is the one that began the good work is someone who is truly saved and he will perform it continually.😂

Jesus said they come in sheep’s clothing, meaning you don’t tell their false prophets by their works. We recognize a false prophet by what he preaches. I my self don’t condone in sin and don’t support it I’m against it. And sometimes do fall short to sin but the guilt that I feel is horrible. Scripture says if you are born of God, you will not go on willfully sinning. If you go on willfully sinning, you are not born of God. You can choose to walk in the Spirit or in the flesh.

We then see Paul talk about how these people who are positionally unrighteous and why they will not inherit the Kingdom of God. (Verse 9-10) Paul then reminds them that they were once in the same position but were justified in the name of Jesus Christ. "11And some of you used to be like this. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." We are made righteous through Jesus 2 Corinthians 5:21 "21He made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." Romans 3:22 "22The righteousness of God is through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe, since there is no distinction." As far as Matthew 7:21 which is towards the end of the sermon on the mount and was speaking to disciples with a crowd that hard formed. This is when we see that only those who do the will of the Father will enter the kingdom of heaven. Jesus clearly defines the will of the Father for us. John 6:40 "40For this is the will of my Father: that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him will have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” More simply, Jesus is talking to those that didn't fully trust and believe in Jesus for their salvation. It is also important to read the 2 verses right after that talk about those who do many wonderful works in His name and trust in that to be able to enter the kingdom of heaven and Jesus says "I NEVER knew you" indicating that those people NEVER believed and trusted in Jesus for their salvation (in other words, they NEVER did the will of the Father found in John 6:40) Matthew 7:22-23 "22On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, drive out demons in your name, and do many miracles in your name?’ 23Then I will announce to them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you lawbreakers!’"

You need to actually study the bible and read each verse with the context the writer required you to read it with and stop cherry picking verses and distorting it to preach a false gospel. If you read the entirety of 1 Corinthians, you would know, that the church of Corinth in Greece, were true believers and had true faith. Literally in the first chapter. 1Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, 2unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's: 3grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 4I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; 5that in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; 6even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: 7so that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: 8who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. And Matthew 7 doesn't stop at verse 21, if you read the very next two verse, Jesus rebukes all those who don't place their entire faith on him and him alone for their salvation. People like you, will stand before the Lord, telling him how many times you went to church, how much you stopped sinning, how much charity you did, how many times you prayed and the Lord will look you dead in your face and say he never knew you, not that he once knew you and forgot, not that he almost got to know you, he never knew you.
