Hi Darcy! I love the story about Mary getting to do life! I pray that we can all take that to heart and be thankful every day for all of the things we GET to do!!! I live your sweater and socks! Can’t wait to see your quilty projects! I have several finished pairs of socks that I GET to post…..I tend to forget about posting on ravelry….. maybe I’ll do that today. Enjoy your trip!!!!!
Your summer tees are so nice! I'll look forward to the patterns being available. I'm so excited to have won the beautiful bag! Thank you! Enjoy camping and mountain bike riding! How did the kayak knitting go?
Hi Darcy, Thank you for sharing Mary’s story and using GET instead of GOT. that is a good reminder for me. Cute socks, I’m making my first pair of shortys and I’ll use your suggestion of making a longer heel flap to help keep them from becoming droppers👍🏻. Enjoy the Makers Meetup.
Beautiful knitting! I love everything you showed. 😃 Yes I think you are crazy to design and knit a sweater in a week. 😂 I am posting this the day after Shark Week started. I making the Sockhead Slouch Hat. I’m also in SSC, I made one pair of shorties and am halfway through the leg on the first sock of a second calf length pair. I will join your Ravelry group later today. Also your biking trip sounds wonderful. We were up in the Lake Superior area last year for vacation. My husband and I bought e-bikes last fall and we love them. I love the extra help. 😃
Hi Darcy! Your Pop Top Tee is so cute!! And the quilt that came together with help from your friends is so lovely -I’m sure it will be a wonderful gift of love and comfort for your sister in law. Thank you for sharing my yarn fiction video and the Merry Makealong (it runs the end of August)! Take care sweet friend!😊
Hi Darcy! I absolutely love your Pop Top tee. I would love to purchase the pattern when it comes out. I’ve used Anchor Bay yarn before and it’s a great yarn for here in Florida. Your shorty socks are adorable. I’m also making shorty socks. That’s really cool that you met knitters while at the bike retreat. Have a great week
I want to apologize because I accidentally hit the thumbs down button! If you saw that, I wanted to let you know it was an error. I am presently working on a shawl using the Building with Lace book/patterns by Knit Purl Hunter. But, I will be putting it down to work on my Shark Week project when that begins! I am just making a color work hat because I will be in the throes of graduation party cleaning and preparing and baking and cooking for my youngest (homeschooled) son’s party. It will still be a challenge for me with all that will be going on! I think that you can do it! Design the pattern and knit the sweater! I am new to your channel, but it looks to me that you have the skills and the drive! Good luck!
Love your sweater....I'm partial to the color purple. 🤩 Love the socks too. I hope I can get mine done well at least one during the test knit. I'm striving to become a faster knitter. 🙃
Hi Darcy! I always enjoy your episodes, they so fun! Thanks so much for sharing your Wildflower and explaining your steeking method. I have only done it once, and it is one of those things that scares me a bit. I understand how it works…. But I am apprehensive to cut my knitting!! I just need to jump in and do it. Thanks for the little push!
Hi Darcy! I love the cardigan that you knit for your granddaughter-so sweet! And your socks are just beautiful! So exciting that you’re designing a sweater-I really love eyelets too.😊It sounds like you are having a fun summer-take care!!!
Please pick me as a tester. Love making socks. I have tested a knit for you before. Your patterns are written well and easy to follow. I'm always looking for a better fit sock. Happy knitting
❤hi Darcy ,,,glad ur having a great time with family,,, Love ur socks, great idea with shorties,,,🎉🎉 Congratulations to winner,,, Stay cool,,,,hot here too ,,,😮 Elaine ❤️🏡
Hi Darcy! I first 'met' you thru your Slip Crazy Cowl pattern! We chatted a bit on Ravelry and I've recently started watching your podcast. Thx for keeping me company while I knit! I love your new Dandelion pattern too... would make a cute shawl too... and totally agree about loving dandelion bouquets from children! ❤❤ I've been making cowls for my DILs this year, and currently finished a scarf shawl for me... with a snack scarf and a wrap on my needles. We are enjoying sure camping, fishing, and traveling this summer... hubby is retired but I still work full time. Thx for your chats! 😊
Happy Birthday! I don’t have a specific project I like to knit in the summer but I love to sit on the front porch or the deck and knit and watch knitting podcasts.
Hi Darcy! I participated in Carla's hat weekend too! It was fun and now I have a hat in the gift box! I've got to get a pair of shorties on the needles!
Wow, I can’t believe it’s been a year! Congrats on your 1 year podaversary! I’m catching up on podcasts so I’m late to the party but I wanted to comment anyway. I love that little sweater! It’s so cheerful! Also I love your emotional support chicken, it’s on my to-make-list. I like your prompt for the prize, I know I’m late to the party and you’ve already drawn a winner but spring is my favourite time of year so I wanted to answer anyway. It feels like the world is waking up and shaking off the long winter and all the plants start waking up and sprouting and we start to see more animals (someone already mentioned Robins, and I agree that they’re great! They always remind me of The Secret Garden.). Spring is the best!
Ever since I learned to knit socks they have been my favorite summer knit. I try to make enough socks every summer to refill my sock box. Then I donate last years socks to a Charity Shop near me.
Hi Darcy!! A very happy birthday to you!! I enjoyed seeing all of your projects - the shortie socks are so pretty! And all of your gorgeous yarn acquisitions - aaahhhh❤❤❤!! I am enjoying knitting on a pair of shorties. Whenever I have a textured sock, I usually add the rows to the heel flap as you suggested. (Or if it’s a really thin fingering weight yarn.) I am close to finishing my pair, so I’ll be adding them to the cabin! The project bag you made is so pretty and reminds me of vintage fabric. Take care my friend!!❤☀️❤
Thank you Carla! I am so happy to hear that what I am planning for these socks works for you. I am excited to see your finished socks. I will be adding a pair to the cabin today too!
Happy Birthday! Another wonderful episode. I knit every day no matter the season. During the summer I knit mostly smaller projects like socks and Mother Bears or whatever you need test knitted!
Happy Birthday! I really enjoy your podcast! I am participating in summer sock camp. I will join in with your group also. Thank you for sharing your time and talents!!
Hi Darcy 😊 I love gardening 😊 camping 🏕️ all the yard sales 😊 longer days 😊I love to knit socks 🧦 and dish cloths in the summer also 😊 another lovely episode ❤
I just found your podcast and thoroughly enjoyed it. I love having a vegetable garden and picking ripe tomatoes warm from the sun and then canning them for that taste of summer during the winter. I don’t have a favourite to knit in the summer but knit on whatever I am working on or whatever catches my eye.
Thank you so much for watching. You made my mouth water when I read your comment about fresh tomatoes from the garden!! My 88 year old mother still plants and tends a large garden of tomato plants, and cans oodles of jars of tomatoes!!
Socks Socks and more Socks are my summer go to, 1 for sock camp and 2 it means it's summer and Glamper knitting is on! LOL I love summer and sock knitting pretty much equally!
Love your hat! "Dandelion Magic" is one of our favorites! My grandson always picks this one first to read. My daughter also harvests dandelions to dry for tea. SO many benefits to dandelions including magical bouquets! Happy Birthday Darcy!
Darcy those socks are very pretty. There's pattern on Ravelry called Heel tab for short socks by Amanda Steck. It's a free pattern and the tab stops shorties falling down the back of your heel. I too love dandelions. The young leaves are great in salads and are super good for your digestion.
Happy, happy birthday, Darcy!! I hope you have a wonderful day! It’s funny that you are thinking the same thing I am about shortie socks! I’m working on a pair right now and I was wishing the back came up just a bit higher. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with! And that pattern looks great! I love that rainbow yarn from Melissa….she is doing a great job! I just finished wildflower tee #5. Hoping to get the final 2 done this summer, along with some socks thrown in there for good measure. Enjoy those grandies!
Darcy, I am so happy you shared about children and dandelions, I truly have a new appreciation for the little yellow flower and it's fun to know the inspiration behind a pattern😊 I love gardening and have been spending lots of time outside planting pots, baskets, rail boxes and vegetables, and of course weeding! The question is, will I pull the dandelions? I am looking forward to knitting a few pair of socks, shorties probably, longer ones maybe. I love the shorties you are working on, the colors are so bright and cheerful just like your front porch!
