Hi thank you for sharing I am still trying to find time to ride my transalp your video was excellent .I will try to ride more I look forward to the next video God bless
Nearly 10k completed on mine, its a great road bike, 21in is perfect for the uk poor roads. Changed the rear shock to a Hagon, complete game changer, only limit now is the tyres.
I had a Yamaha XT from 1997, Versys 650, and now V-strom 650 XT (golden rims). I have tested many more bikes, and I test drove Transalp 750 for about 45 minutes, tried road up to 150 km/h, grawel, meadow, slow speed manover. Versys was a really fun bike, I didn't know that until you try other bikes because you are used to yours. Nothing is close, not even cfmoto 800 mt. My curent v-strom is realy great bike, suspension is much better than on old v-stroms, it is firmer, remote rear preload is a must (and transalp doesn't have it.) V-strom is more stable at hi speed, better for two up thatn versys. But, v-strom is much more boring. Transalp is more fun at leas in tahat short ride. Suspension is too soft, after going over speed bumps (we call it laying policemen or sleeping policemen in my country) rear wallows for at least three times up and down, it feels very creepy... (I weight 108 kg ) so if I would buy Transalp I would probably go for a change in suspension. Best thing in new Transalp for me is upright seating positions, because I really really miss that from my Versys, my hands and back are killing me more on a v-strom, and from test drive Transalp is a lot like versys in seating, so I am considering to buy Transalp. I tried all similar bikes, only didnt try new Suzuki 800 de, but from reviews and overlaid images it is seen that handlebar is more forward than on Transalp, so I am still for a Transalp. I really like Africa Twin more but it is too high for me , too expensive, and I do a lot of filtering daily and I can have only one bike. There is a low seat but it is hard, and still rear is at same height so it is the same problem for getting on the bike (Italians are shorter and I always see that low seat on parked Africa Twins with italian registrations ;). Kove 800 looks ridiculously small under me, and I wull take a wife on half of the rides so no kove, cfmoto 800 mt is a serious contender, a little heavy in the hands and corners, KTM have cam shaft issues, but I thing that engine used in cfmoto is better, I didn't found any reported cam issue with cfmoto 800 mt online. But I will stick to japanese for now. Cfmoto will probably become known and reliable brand.
I have not much experience with the Vstom, but I rented a Verys 650 and rode it around Nova Scotia 2 years back. There is a video of this you can check out under my videos section. The rear suspension is better now I have reduced the ‘Sag” but also I don’t very often take a pillion so everything is pretty well set up for single rider. I’m approx just under 90 kilos fully kitted with helmet etc.
Had mine about a month, also just about to get the first service done. Been riding myself over 30 years and had many larger engined bikes. This is a 750 twin so people need to remember that. Compared to my previous 750’s (VFR x 2, VFR800) this TA an engine is a peach and equally as pokey. IMHO it’s got plenty of torque and revs very keenly. The TA a is a harmonised package. For road riding you don’t need any more poke, you just don’t. Love it.
I have also test rode the bike. I missed some low end torque, I felt I always want to rev it, to have some fun. Also I'd do something with the suspension (probably the roads here in Central/Eastern Europe are much worse than there).
Agreed on the suspension, I will set mine up a little stiffer as I was out with some race bike guys the other night and the rear end was all over the place. The suspension is a soft ride.
The GPS works without a SIM. I don’t have a SIM in mine. I fly with an iPad for my GPS and it has NO sim. You only need a sim if you’re looking to download or use data without WiFi . Always download your maps, apps and data on WiFi. Once downloaded you can open use freely. The tablet with provide GPS where there is no telephone signal or WiFi so long as it can access the sky for the GPS signal. So it wont work indoors.
Hi I've just bought a Oukitel RT3 outdoor tablet for the same purpose, only the RT3 has more ram otherwise very similar. biggest difference being the RT3 is half the price of the Samsung 👍
Just come back from 12 days in Norway. Must say I'm very happy with the Oukitel RT3 even in heavy rain I had my charging cable plugged in with no issues 👍 I did bye a Matt screen protector from amazon which is a Must !!
I just bought some ghost armour (lv2) and I got Rukka sets with the bigger shoulder pieces as you showed. How did you fit them into the bigger pockets and how to make them not move around. I know there is a loop hole but my set don’t have that feature.
Well done! CRF300 Rally owner here. Taken mine to Baviaankloof via the Grootrivierpoort turnoff and it handles those rocks and mud with ease. Please keep the videos coming, it’s always helpful to see possible new riding destinations. Where did you buy the bike? Greetings from Muizenberg, Cape Town
I feel much freer exploring with a light weight old school style scrambler than with any of the mid to heavyweight adventure bikes. Go anywhere anytime feeling.
Well done, you are an inspiration. I am 57 and riding the Honda CRF250 rally in the cape and loving the small easy bike. Plan to do a similar ride that you did shortly.
This is brilliant just found your channel, i was searching PR7 video's, looking at purchasing one soon, after taking a 900 rally pro through spain and Portugal last year and missing out on all those lovely tet routes because my bikes to big and heavy for my age and talent😂...i stayed in Tavira too, beautiful!
I have just setup my active tab on my bike, it great. Have you found a way to turn the tablet on and off with the ignition, while still using the battery. I know that you can run it without a battery from direct power, but i would leave the battery in the device.
I know you Brits dont get a ton of sunshine like over here in the States, but how is the brightness/glare etc? I'm told a few blokes can't use their Galaxy Active 3 tablets as it's unreadable/unuseable in the sunshine so they went with different GPS solutions all together.
I have found that in bright sunshine I need to have the brightness level at max. I also have an anti glare cover on mine. I do however, notice than rain drops sometimes affect the screen.
How is the vibration with that Ram mount? I'm thinking, regarding my Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro, how exactly to mount it, above the current TFT, in a way to not have to remove the windshield and not have it bounce around to much...direct mount to a cross bar used to raise and lower the windshield etc.....
I had a custom mount made for my Tiger 900 rp for mounting my zumo xt but I'll be switching to this recommended tab active 3 with ram locking mount in the next few weeks. I'll report back. Sooner if snow stays away here in central Oregon, or later if snow returns.
8gb ram VS 4gb ram is a very big difference… and software management for Cooling the batterycharge which the carpe iter has and Samsung not , big battery , very good gps 5 times a second… brightness of 1000nits , i think the Samsung has not… Maybe 600 so future wise i think you need two tablets against one carpe iter in the years you will own it.
You've no idea how happy I was to find this was UK content! So rare on RU-vid in the LSA space. I fly a TL Ultralight model (also Czech - I think!) that is similar, with 100hp. Not my own aircraft! It has a 2 axis autopilot (TruTrak). I much prefer LSAs, flying at 100-110 knots true, than flying C150s and C152s. For the budget-minded aircraft owner, I believe LSAs and ultralights are the future. What with a brand new Cessna 172 (with a Garmin G1000 unit whether you need it or not!... it's all they sell a 172 with these days) costing £450,000 !! Is that Kidlington you're located at? Great content and lovely SportsCruiser.
Hi, Thanks for the comments. I fully understand the appreciation of UK content, there is not so much about. I am based at Turweston near Silverstone race track. I did my night rating at Kidlington so know it well. Flying is a bit different in the UK for several reasons. Firstly, our airspace is so much more congested that the US or Canada and also flying in the south of the country there are many restricted as well as danger zones so. Secondly, being so close to Europe flying across to France, Spain, Germany and Scandinavia is very doable. However, if you train in a non certified aircraft and restrict yourself to a LSA (LAPL in UK) licence you are unable to fly into Europe in a certified aircraft, so your flying experience can be limited. Very few people in the UK buy a Cessna or Piper new on their own. I currently also have a share in a Robin DR 400 here is a link to the renovation we did. Our group is 12 so costs are kept quite low. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HKK0N0NvUlI.html The sportsCruiser is a great plane but is enhanced with an autopilot to manage it's sensitive pitch.
I'm familiar with the northern areas of that journey. Late September through to the first week of November is a great time to travel there, but keep it to yourself.
It's been a couple months now since I've bought this tablet and it is great. ru-vid.comUgkxLNmVocUk8tnSkwWIlYSNFzWRIaFTBuzS The tablet is responsive and runs well. There were a few times that the tablet did an awkward thing where it would detect pen on at all times and wouldn't register finger press, but it is usually fixed by closing and opening either the screen or app. This is highly likely due to my excessive use for drawing which caused this and wasn't really very big. As I mostly enjoy using the tablet for drawing (and some light gaming), I would comment from that aspect that there is definitely more accurate pressure and drawing using a PC device and drawing tablet, however i find the moveablity of the tablet more enjoyable to draw on. Like how you can physically rotate and move a piece of paper around or even draw casually on your bed.All in all, as a tablet it is good, and as a drawing device can be good depending on what you want from a drawing device. It is definitely good enough if you just want to use it to take notes. For typing though I can't comment on the keyboard as I did not get the keyboard.
The SC is a good aircraft for one experienced private owner. Unfortunately it is under built to sustain the rigours of group or club use and the support is lacklustre. There have been numerous SB’s to re-enforce landing gear components. I had a situation when the 200 hour SC in the hangar had more serious structural issues than a 13,000 hour Cessna 152 that was in maintenance at the same time, I seriously doubt that due to build quality an SC will ever reach 30% of the airframe life of the average C152.
You are probably correct. The Cessna's and Pipers were built in an era of build to last and as you say they have stood the test of time esp as training aircraft.
