Congrats for your determination. Happy to see it ended well. Plus you now have a new and different kind of story in your adventures catalogue. Cheers from Romania!
Never give up fighting for what is ours. Even though everyone around us tells us otherwise. With determination and courage, anything is possible, as your example demonstrates (to those who are afraid of breaking a nail). Where there's a will there's a way. Well done.
well, damn. That's cool. A bit spooky, but cool. Looking forward to part 2. I would hope insurance would sell it to you cheap, minus the costs to recover the bike. And just like that, you've found a new career. Bike rescuer. well done.
Great to see a happy ending for a stolen bike for a change. Fair play to you for going to the trouble of going to Romania and getting it back, top marks to the Romanian police too..
Congratulations on your perseverance. We are sorry your first experience with Romania was like this, but we are happy everything worked out. Please consider a bike tour in our Carpathians during the summer, you will most definitely not regret it! Cheers!
Congratulations mate! Being an owner myself of a PR7 I was so sad on learning that your bike had been stolen... but you got it back... hahahah... great!
What an amazing adventure and the icing on the cake was finding your bike. How helpful is the Romanian police... very helpful! As the insurance company wasn't very helpful you'd think they would just let you have the bike back. Especially after all the costs you've incurred. Good on you mate :)
Saw the post, and im suprised with all the effort you went. Gratz on having her back, nice to see an happy ending to all the effort you done. Cheers from Portugal
Hey Kelston, what a great story, love your curiosity, patience and authenticity. “I’m a little nervous!” So good to hear you say that as I was getting a little nervous for you! Congratulations on your ingenuity and tenacity. A
@@ML1927AM You think they could have done it quicker? I "did the math" and it would be roughly 25 houses per hour assuming no breaks. I would say that's a great effort.
@@ML1927AM They took him seriously, brought in an interpreter, spent hours dealing with paperwork, and recovered the bike in 24 hours - which had to be done legally. They couldn't just go breaking into the guys garage and nicking it themselves. My home was burgled whilst I was in it asleep. The burglar had left fingerprints all over the place, including on the items from my bag that they took with them and emptied the bits they didn't want all along the street as they made their escape. The British police didn't even bother taking prints, let alone attempting to find the person that stole several thousand pounds worth of goods and cash from me. So yeah, it was a great effort from the Romanian police.
That could be true to some extent but I can tell you that in the last 15 - 20 years a lot of things changed in Romania. It's not a wild west anymore. That, unfortunately, is not true for all eastern European countries. For example when romanians go in Bulgaria, we always use cheap old car, we never go with expensive cars, especially BMWs. No disrespect to our bulgarian neighbors as most of them are lovely people but those things happend a lot there. Most stolen cars are shipped to Russia.
i am romanian and i am ashamed that a romanian stole your bike. On the other hand motorbike theft in Uk is going trough the roof at the moment ( i live in UK). My Honda scooter was stolen 2 weeks ago and so many motorbike theft reports i see daily on internet. i am glad you had your bike back. Cheers ! God job Politia Romana !
well done you. hope your Insurance company play nice. Hastings didn't when I found my XT. they came grabbed it and it went to auction I couldn't even bid on it myself. Good luck with yours
Well done on getting it back, you should ride it home! Presumably the insurers will deduct your expenses and daily rate for your time from the cost of buying it back so they will likely end up owning you money considering they didn’t want to go and recover it themselves
The insurers response has been to say I am responsible for all storage fees and transport and offer to sell it to me at a very high price. I am trying to negotiate. The wouldn’t have the bike if not for my effort, but greed is built in it seems.
@@FitBones I’m sure you will find someone in the insurance company who will be reasonable and also won’t want their name called out on RU-vid as being difficult to deal with! Also as it is their bike leave it in Romania and let them get it back! But definitely a name and Shame is looking likely in their future!
Hello !!! I just read the news on a romanian bike group...if u need transport for the bike gimme a shout...i will be coming to romania to rebt a van in order to move out from uk, so on the way to uk the van will be empty...let me know
Congrats man, good job, I am a rider too for many years R6's and SS bikes, I had mine stolen a beautiful one in Toronto... that day I can't forget how mad I was insurance paid it off , they found bike 2 months later abandoned on side of a road, crazyy. I am a Romanian too, glad to see Police helped you and one more thief under the bars, I hope.
I'm glad you found everyone so helpful in romania and you got an overall pleasing experince here. My only question is why didn't you attempt to ride it back home ?
He mentioned it at the end of the video, the insurance company owns the bike (since it was stolen). So he technically doesn’t own it - thus he can’t ride it
Anyway in the sale announcement is written " can not be registered". So the seller know very well that is a problem with the motorcycle and must not be driven on public roads.
I'm glad you took your bike back, i'm from Romania and i am very ashamed and sorry because of this video, but.. in the end its great that u found it and took it back.
Maybe do a deal with the insurance before you ship it back. I would think you are more likely to get a good deal that way rather than doing all the work for them.
Well done. So many bikes seem to be stolen here in Scotland. I wondered if they get broken for spares, or not. Seems some not. Had any effort been made to change/disguise the VIN number?
Nice one 8-) hope ya get it back without any further damage. ....Shame British rozzers and Insurance wont help with recovery....."got better things to do"....like catching people on electric scoots.
Like catching the many many perpetrators of violent crime you mean. 1.5 million reported incidents last year in the UK. In the last five years there have been more than 7 murders in a tiny stretch of road opposite where I live (fortunately, I live on a river and it's a road the other side). An additional two stabbings of students that go to my school. Two separate guys killed when punched, 1 for refusing to hand over his watch, 1 because he was talking to some guys girlfriend - both on the other side of the river but within the same area as the stabbings. Then there are the multiple bike thefts where I am - it was a bike or two (motorbikes and pushbikes) a week from our secure underground carpark for a few months! And they caused accidents - I was riding out with my mate and one of those bikes went whizzing past with two a-holes on. They'd nicked it, and as they went round us they crashed into a car with a 2 year old in, causing the driver to crash, and then crashed into a bollard that threw the driver into a bus whilst his passenger hit the ground so hard his helmet split in two. That meant police, fire brigade, ambulance. Yeah. Wasting their time 'chasing electric scooters'. Maybe have a bit more understanding of what the police are actually spending their time doing.
good man yourself if i ever meet you i will buy you a pint for chasing up on what happens when bikes are stolen ... waiting for next programme good luck
I don't know what to say anymore, i feel ashamed, i feel furious, i feel....shit! I am so pissed of because other romanians are doing nasty stuffs like this and give us such a bad image. I am sorry and i apologize for what you've been through!
Because Romania and Bulgaria are not in Schengen Area ,meaning will be check border with Hungary. If Romania is in Schengen last border check will be with Ucraine,Moldova,Turkey and UE don t want that
Wow, you were not afraid at all to go to Romania. As an English if I would read the newspapers how describing the romanian immigrants I would be afraid to travel in that country. Seems you had no issues
Don t judge without knowing !!! Romania is one of the safest countries in Europe !!!! For the most part, Romania is a safe country to travel to and considered to be a welcoming traveling destination, ranked among the most-threat free countries on the planet.
@@larisamatei2185 I was ironic. My comment was addressed to the autor of the video and to the foreigners. We all know that this parts of Europe are way safer than the West side of the continent.
Why people call them "bikes"? bikes are human-powered vehicles. good luck with riding... bikes :)) I mean... all the people commenting about a bike, where the video title says something about a motorcycle. i wonder what could be the difference?
