For those keeping score, that's Budget Angler 2-0 Pike. Interesting what you said about the same Pike taking fish after it was just caught. I am pretty sure I lost and then caught the same Chub in a session once, as I removed a second hooklength from its mouth matching the one I had just lost! I think after a brief period of repose, the natural instinct just kicks back in.

Excellent Andy, it’s a lovely river you have near you. I always use my 14ft power glide, my only issue is weight with that length of rod though. Looking forward to some more action on that river of yours.

nice pike and they tend to go where the bait fish are shoaling up for winter but it's a good sign when you get a few different pike in the same area cos it means there is plenty of food for them

Really enjoyed this video Andy I think float fishing for Pike would be great……after all it’s would just be like usual float fishing but giant size floats and weights. Like you I been caught up trying to move……..hopefully that will happen on Tuesday. Sounds like yer gonna have a great days fishing in Hampshire I must say I go a couple of times each winter trotting for Grayling however you will end up catching all sorts. Fantastic rivers and countryside…….enjoy yourself.

Another enjoyable vlog! There's plenty of those Pike along that stretch. I'll be back there in 2 weeks and I will be having a day with my brother Piking, There are some big girls in there (My Pb from there is 21lb 10oz). I'll be getting in as much fishing in as possible while down. Can't freaking wait! Hopefully I'll bump into you again while down there.

Andy, well done in landing the pike - in situations such as those either your lucks in or it's not with regards to where the hook is positioned. Landed a 10lb pike which snatched a roach on a pole, 4 elastic, 12oz hooklength and a 22 hook at Hertford East many years ago in a match - took me 35 minutes to beat it and fortunately, it just swam around and didn't make any fast runs or I never would have landed it - hooked clean in the scissor!

Amazing how you keep picking up these random pike attacks - Ive been out on the Lea in 3-4miles in both directions from Lock 17 more times then i could count and I havent even had a single knock or follow let alone actually seen one or signs of one on the feed (fish jumping) River used to be full of them some 15-20 years ago when i started fishing for them! certain stretches of river just seem so dead and empty. No life whatsoever which is rather sad.

What is it with you and the Pike recently Andy? Either they like your aftershave or they are sitting there thinking, "Ah, Budget Angler, he is bound to hook some Roach and bring them past me for dinner"
