I really like that you showed some of this but I'd hoped you would have discussed some of your reasons for doing things in the manner that you did them? Off to the next one hoping to find a more detailed explanation along the way. peace
Thanks for the reply, i didn’t really have a plan for how i wanted it set up exactly, mainly just trying to make it something unique and useful at the same time. I have a video where i talk a bit more in depth about my decisions with it, it’s a longer one, but if you have any specific questions i can try to answer them the best I can, thanks
You know, I see some of these folks building things & there's a lot of talented people. I'm not as I have no tools or real abilities to weld but I do like things built right. Decent quality & right the 1st time. Wheels/bearings to me need to be sized to where going the speed limits doesn't endanger you or anyone else. Full sized wheels & quality bearings are needed. I see some people put little "toy tires" on a trailer & expect to be pulling 1 ton of stuff - not wise. I digress, I have no specific questions right now but I'm interested when I see someone doing a certain quality of work & you caught my eye.... I'll chat w/ you soon, the Lord willing. peace
I'm late to the party..... lol, but I am here. That said, I'm subb'd up & LQQKin' for the DIY build. You're talking about doing a lot of things w/ this build so I'm off to ck it out. peace
What’s up my friend I just thought about you and your channel and the content you use to post an all the gud you did for the community I hope you safe and living life the way you love too check in some time piece brother ✌🏽!!!
What’s up my friend, I hope you are well, all is good out here, just a retired RU-vidr haha, doing a lot of landscaping at my house and growing all kinds of stuff, happy grow season, thanks for stopping by
They are the original ones form the 98 Kawasaki voyager xii, I just had custom fork boots covering the exposed pistons, it helps a lot with stopping dirt from getting inside them, super easy and cheap
Oh right! The back suspension was swapped yes, I thought you meant the front suspension, the rear springs are awesome I’ll see what they were it’s been a long time since I replaced them
They are progressive rear shocks, I’m not sure the exact model number but if you go on American voyager association they have parts lists and you can get lots of good info
They are called “torsion axles” and I think these were 500lb ones, they usually run for 300 - 500$ online. I’ll post a link to one similar for you. They are sick. Make sure to get the right hubs so that the number of holes on the wheels is correct, there are 4 and 5 holes RIGID HITCH INCORPORATED 500 lb. Torsional Stub Axles with 4-Bolt on 4 Inch Hubs (TSA-5100) a.co/d/hd85u62
Right on man, motorcycles are fun but unfortunately we can’t ride forever, that’s why I try to make these videos when I can, too remember some rides and just have fun
Yes sir 💪 I’d like to do another road trip again at some point but in the meantime I’m still just doing day rides and will post these videos from time to time, I enjoy making them a lot. Thanks for stopping in dude ✌️
No I don’t miss the trailer one bit, it was a fun project and I had a good time building it out, but it just wasn’t right for me and my riding style. I gave it to a guy at Bean Pot campground in Tennessee, so who knows where it’s at now. I bet he took it apart and scrapped it if I had to guess. Thanks for watching Kevin ✌️
This is Pikes Peak "Americas Mountain" 14,000 ft above sea level. Colorado Springs , Colorado. On a clear day I can see it from my house. The song "America The Beautiful" was written about it. Most everyting on wheels race up it every year Hpoe you enjoy . ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--hiRZ9Q0rg4.html
Cheers Merch, Thanks for the ride. I couldn't help but think about "What if" Your trailer made it home waitin for you. It had soul. A piece of you. I felt the weight on your front tire being sketchy. You did good. Someone needed that trailer more than you. In Utah we went to a ski resort. Getting up there was not a problem. But coming straight down, switch backs. We heard stories bout this hill. If you dont have a standard trans. You had to ride your breaks. The rims got so hot . Our hubcaps flew off. Rotors were glowing red. Rims were smoking. We made it home in that car. Cheers Full watch👏👍❤🤠
So, We gathered a few friends to ride Pacific Coast Highway. I had the smallest bike and falling behind. I gave it the gas and my front end started swaying. Gently on the breaks and geared down. @ 60. Then comes a curve to the left but a dirt road straight ahead. Street bike in trouble and on gravel. I didn't panic. I did grab my helmet from its hook, put it on and went HOME ! Merry Christmas Merch 🎄🎀🎁📯🤩
It handled great honestly, the torsion axles and the long tongue make them look further back than in actuality. But in the end I was going off of tongue weight, which is the important thing. But this thing wouldn’t even budge on the Highway at 75mph, lots of folks have lots of suggestions on how they would’ve done it, but for my first one I was very happy with how this came out. Had a blast on that trip
Cheers Merch, New subr 👍 I dont know if you saw this vid I made. Thanks for the ride 👍♥💯‼ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mmvijKUkAFA.html Enjoy Buddy
Thanks for thinking of me 🙏 it held up well on the trip until I gave it to a gentleman at beanpot campground in Tennessee. No issues with the frame whatsoever, I towed it about 1500 miles on lots of different terrain and had a fun time with it, but ultimately I didn’t really like towing a trailer all that much to be honest
I wish I kept them, but unfortunately I don’t have them, a lot of the original parts were damaged, but I should have put everything in a box and set it aside, but this was winter of 2019/2020 and I wasn’t as focused on the parts at that time I think
I never did an in-depth video on these components because I was a bit swamped with things on the road, so I apologize for that, if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Bruh crystal recreation area campground in mount ida is free, or theres like thousands of random free primitive spots off forest roads. . I absolutely love it down there. Going back October 8th&9th for the quartz crystal competitions at Twin Creek
I ride a URAL Gear Up. ANY modification to the original design is going to make it a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MACHINE.. Full Stop. Comparing a stock ride to a loaded ride is a disservice to the adventure!
I still do, I was setting it up for a road trip and wanted to change it for a more long distance / cruiser setup. I go over it in the videos after that one. But I’ve got it setup similar to this now.
