New Scandinavian Cooking. This show takes place in the Scandinavia region of Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, as well as Iceland and Finland. New Scan Cooking is a favorite of mine and I hope it becomes a favorite of yours too! Cheers
Uff-da. As a Norwegian American I love this show. Not only for the food, but the scenery and history. Growing up in a Norwegian farming community in Illinois, I came to love Norwegian peasant food -- Kumla, boiled torsk, Kringlas, pickled herring, lefse (both non-potato and potato lefse -- which we just called potato cakes), rice pudding, Krumkakke, etc. (Lutefisk, not so much). My Grandfather came to the US in 1910. My other grandparents were born here, but their grandparents came here in the 1850's. So the only thing I can say to Andreas is Tusen Takk (or Manga Takk).
My mother Karen Gundersen came from Fredrikstad….. her brother was Ivar who was the manager of Bjellands fish factory and I loved the Gaffelbitter tinned fish… used to go to Slevik ( near Hanke ) as a 7 year old in 1958 and row out in my own without any life belt and catch Torsk ( cod)…. wonderful memories
I think I already told you this Tina but I live in Michigan and there's a gal she's a server in a really nice family restaurant near where I live and she is your twin and when I showed her she goes oh my goodness I am her twin so sometimes I go see her and she goes well what was I cooking and I tell her all about what you were cooking so we really enjoy you you do a great job and you're beautiful just like my Tina in Michigan
Oooops so sorry Tina. Wrong message to you. Don't know how it happened. Forgive me. I love you & all your video's. I'll have a comment for you as soon as I watch your video.
Tina I live in Michigan and I have your twin she is a waitress and my favorite restaurant and her name is Tina and when I go and she looks just like you and when I go and see her I go she goes you are watching me cook weren't you what was I cooking it's so much fun you really are beautiful and so is my team in Clinton Township Michigan
You know I used to regularly watch the show faithfully and I usually watched it on CREATE TV. I really miss it and I understand some of the chefs moved on to other pursuits. I miss when the world was normal.
So the reason I'm living in now looks a lot like this but the region in the up because of the mining industry is filled with Fins and Scandinavians. The landscape is very similar. It makes me very homesick.
I absolutely love rutabaga. It's always been my treat for any big dinner we had. I always preferred mashed rutabaga to potatoes, but they are great mashed and mixed together.
