Unfortunately, it has to be routed out. If you plug it, then the hot water will be trapped in the back of the head and could cause serious damage to the back cylinders.
FYI: The Aristo JZ161 (2JZGTE VVTI) oil pick up Toyota part number (15104-46070) is the same as the GS300 and IS300 according to Toyota so it seems like all the modifications you made would apply to GS300 and IS300 guys as well.
01:10 What VQ Engine is that??? I'm Looking for a A way to Swap in a More Responsive Transmission to My Slow/Slugging VQ Transmission Like in My Mercedes. I'm Open to Transmission Options, Just Need A Budget Friendly But Very Quick and Responsive Transmission that won't be Too Difficult to Swap and Make To Work.
Would it be possibly to get the contact info of the gentleman making that adapter braket?? I have an 05 and very interested in doing this before anything happens...thanks
Suspicious Garage makes an adapter piece for that now, and you run that line to your expansion tank or back to radiator since it's hot eater that needs to be cooled back down.
I am using OEM J3 auto bellhousing with an afapter plate from Xcessive manufacturers. I measured the clearance distance with that setup and purchased a tilton hydraulic throw out bearing with the proper height.
When you increase the RPM of any pump without increasing the size of the ports and tubes you are running it through you increase pressure and then run the chance of cavitation where there is a drop in pressure because the liquid is being pushed off the impeller and not being moved through the ports correctly This is why so many "frankenstein" Hondas were blowing head gaskets in the 00s. VTEC water pumps are gear reduced for higher RPM where as non VTEC are not. They were spinning the pump to fast which increased pressure until it cavitates and then drops pressure. Same thing happens in oil pumps As flow increases, pressure decreases and vice versa. This is Boyle's Law of physics
Is it not essential to keep the flow original to it’s design even when bypassing components? Meaning carrying the neck outlet over to the intake side even if just a line?
Concerning the cooling system: How did you solve the issue with pre-warming the engine leaving a thermostat regulating the water temp (small/big circuit)? Or are you just flushing the engine all the time over the electric water pump at full power?
It does take longer to warm up the car than a typical thermostat system for sure. But it does get to operating temperature, and fans are set to turn on and off at a set temperature.
Who's the dumbass that owned that engine before you bought it...?! Their carelessness caused all the gunk, varnish and sludge buildup in that beautiful 1JZ :( If they just used good quality oil and changed it frequently it would have been like new in there. Looking forward to seeing you build her up!
Vlsd is also an r200, so also interchangeable. Even the r33 diffs can be used on an s13, because its also an r200 diff housing. Im currently running a r33 ABS diff with a 4.111 ratio and an s15 helical lsd in my s13. Just needed the solid bushing and the s13 diff cover. So it could be mounted onto the s13 subframe.
Great video, good information but wondering if any C5 Diff will work or is a Z06 the only one? The diff used in your video was a 2002 Z06, is that year any different from other C5's?
Guessing since he has over fenders on it, he's going for the full kit look. I agree spec R aero looks great on s15s but usually better for stock fender cars.
Sick bro! What coil over setup you running? I have a mixup of gs300 and 3000gt megan on mines. Paving the way for the few 929 owners out their for sure. Keep it up
