This ain't metalcore, most of this is hardcore or metallic hardcore. The fact that you spanned over twenty years and showed almost zero evolution probably suggests you have a very limited idea if what metalcore is, to the point where you arguably don't actually fully grasp what it is. Off the top of my head only two of these bands can really be considered 'metalcore' and they're still far more metallic hardcore than straight up metalcore (Earth Crisis and Architects). Stampin Ground, Merauder, It Dies Today, If Hope Dies, God Forbid, Shadows Fall, KSE, Still Remains, 18 Visions, Bleeding Through, Misery Signals, Throwdown, AILD, Darkest Hour, I Killed The Prom Queen, early Parkway Drive... That's metalcore. This video is hardcore, maybe metallic hardcore at a push.
This video showed me how ignorant I was on a genre I myself claimed to listen so often. So, original metalcore and hardcore (not hardcore punk) are the same?
Imagine being an elitist with Deathcore, not including BMTH or SS (2 of the most important bands in the genre) just because they are not grumpy, horribly recorded guitar slug fest and their songs dare to have more than 1m views. Y I K E S
maybe Im an idiot, but isn't this usually called metallic hardcore? I thought metalcore leaned more towards metal, than hardcore and the most prominent bands were Trivium, Killswitch engage, a7x etc.
i wish there were more metal influenced mathcore bands. there's like 6 bands in the entire genre that are good. the rest of the genre is predominantly hardcore influenced. that's pretty much the only reason i prefer prog metal, otherwise i would probably exclusively be into mathcore.
The two albums Ultraspank released are two of my favorite albums ever, not just in this genre. I highly recommend anyone who hasn’t heard them give them a listen.
