Hi and thank you for visiting my channel! My name is Simon and I am a dedicated outdoors enthusiast. I love spending time in the woods, on the river in my canoe, up in the hills or anywhere away from the man-made modern world! I also love to make stuff - usually gear to accompany me on my adventures outdoors. So, if you have similar interests, I hope you’ll find the videos interesting and entertaining - come and join me on my adventure! Cheers, Simon.
Beautiful landscape, very much like the Freestate, Drakensberg and Mpumalamga areas over here. Overhauling the brake system on my 1975 SIII, so no Landy caming for me just yet so thanks for this one, it will spir me on to get the job finished
EPIC. A lot of the best trips have some awful bits to overcome. The camp was brutal, yet you endured and made it back safely. Really great filming too...I can tell it's a pain in the ass, but so worth it from our end. Really enjoyed this adventure.
One of these days I hope to build a Cedar Strip Canoe and hope to add two paddles to the process. I've appreciated your skill and heart in making these two. Thank you.
I may use buttons or toggles to close the throat. I won't put a string in the hood tho. As an archer that's a little dangerous. Only time I shot in a stringed hood I got a black eye from the keeper!
The way you set up your tent is quite similar to the way our Vietnamese army does it, except that we often pick tea leaves nearby, in the forest, a lot, it's great.
Loved this video! 4x4 track. Are those Land Rover Defenders Simon? I like how you vary your adventures. Heading out next week in my 4x4 Sprinter off grid beast into Eastern Oregon's high desert for some adventure.
Back from holiday so it’s catch up with Simon in his new video. That looked so much fun. Quite the challenge. The conversion in the Land Rover makes it a lot easier to go to bed
So nice to be taken back by you to such a special place. We camped on the campsite at Stiffkey and the tide silently crept in during one afternoon on the other side of the boundary vegitation. It was very strange. No sound. More power to your elbow. Simon.
In south africa we used a bag like this in the angola bushwar it was a patrole bag or 24 hour bag it clipped on the back of your chest webbing it was for your food and other things lot of other bags that clip on it depends on the need or mission
Glad to have you back doing your thing and making videos for us to enjoy. 😊🤙 On a side note. Always loved how organized you are. Everything has its place, and it always goes back where it belongs. I'm the same way, and it's always nice to see you are, too. 👍
I've watched this video twice now. My very first reaction when he showed the area was "That's where he and Richard from Richard Outdoors camped on Richard's Fly-in!!
I learned motorbike camping in the Pyrenees mountains. Rule no1, protect your dry sleeping clothes, dry sleeping bag and dry sleeping mat as the absolute number 1 priority. Keep them in separate dry bags. You can spend all day in wet clothes moving about, but you need that lovely dry warm sleep to recover your strength.
That's basically a maze 😅 anyone inexperienced could've found that a bit scary. Was something sinister about the beauty but helplessness of the reeds at every turn and the abandoned wrecks beyond the chains.
