Thanks for the video. The mistake you made was lubricating the the tool post bolt, instead put a piece of plain paper between the tool post holder and the mount.
OK -I'm 2:27 in and i've already seen everything I want to. You basically retrofitted the "big lathe functionality" onto this turd. I'm gonna watch the whole video, butI don't think I'll get answers to my questions. Nevertheless - well done. Even if you don't share it with the rest of the world. Also, I'm only 2:30 in and I consider this a clickbait.

Man this is so cool. I have the same lathe and I would love power cross feed. You also added the brake to the spindle may I ask why you wanted more braking power?
@@lmmastermariner3859 Thanks for the link. I checked it out and I am surprised at how good it works. Good job. I actually don't have the same lathe mine is the G0602. I don't have a guard door. I am interested in checking out your crosslidee powerfeed system. I checked your profile on that website and nothing came up maybe I need to be registered? or do you have another link to a build or something?
Just came across these two videos, what a fantastic idea and so very well executed! Well done!!.....I am in the middle of planning a powered cross feed for my lathe and this has given me some great ideas. One thing I am struggling with is finding a worm gear and worm wheel of the correct size, would you mind telling me where you sourced your from? Many thanks, Stu
I bought my gears in China. Ordered from 'taobao'. You can order that stuff from aliexpress. Just checked now. www.aliexpress.com/item/4001018776047.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000060.2.2b0f7a799OdZV6&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreThisSeller&scm=1007.13339.274681.0&scm_id=1007.13339.274681.0&scm-url=1007.13339.274681.0&pvid=b6aee71b-6ea3-4345-a7f0-1b5572ffac89&_t=gps-id:pcDetailBottomMoreThisSeller,scm-url:1007.13339.274681.0,pvid:b6aee71b-6ea3-4345-a7f0-1b5572ffac89,tpp_buckets:668%232846%238115%232000&pdp_ext_f=%7B%22sku_id%22%3A%2210000013525412865%22%2C%22sceneId%22%3A%223339%22%7D&pdp_npi=2%40dis%21USD%21%218.62%21%21%21%21%21%402101d1b316548171098385883ee2a3%2110000013525412865%21rec This is exactly what I bought, 4 sets; 25, 30, 35 and 40, but I paid much less for that.
Did you alter the gearing of the lead screw, to compensate for the gear reduction from the worm screw?.....The lowest gear reduction I can find for the worm gear set is 1:15 ie, a 15T worm wheel on a Mod 1 worm
@@stuartcox4739 Part two, 13:01 - 13:05 watch again. That spur gear which came off feed screw is metric module 1.5 gear - 18 teeth. It is in contact with another spur gear, module 1.5 12 teeth. That 12 teeth gear is keyed to the wormshaft.
Brilliant video. Technical drawings caused a wave of caveman fear in me. I found this vid because my South Bend 9C didn't come with change gears, so I printed my own. I wanted to see if I could make a quick change gearbox too.
Can you please add the ratchet pawl, selector lever, and flat platen to your print? if possible add it on a different page. Thank you. Sir, you are a true inventor. Willing to buy these prints in full size as my printer does not have the capability of larger paper prints.
Dear sir, you talk about your Croatian accent I was in Bosnian as part of the UN US peacekeeping forces in the late 90s. My heart goes out to that beautiful country that was torn apart from that war. So glad to see someone with your knowledge and innovation servived. Thankyou again.
There's another problem with similar lathes. The thread between spindle and faceplate. The faceplate can wobble while cutting. I cover thread with epoxy compound and fasten faceplate and know a can cut with greater speed!!!
