Nice work. I pulled back the slide back where I was on the solid part and tighten the set screws and its just fine. It work well for me

What type of lathe is this ? At first it looked like Chinese mini lathe

same thing what I made on my mini lathe - made solid block cause I don thread or turn cones...

It is Chinese lathe indeed, but not mini lathe. It is 280 x 660 mm (11 x 26 inches). Bigger brother of G0602.

There's another problem with similar lathes. The thread between spindle and faceplate. The faceplate can wobble while cutting. I cover thread with epoxy compound and fasten faceplate and know a can cut with greater speed!!!

Probably a good video but I bailed at 6 seconds in because of the computer narration.

Nice job, definitely no need for the top slide on a small machine, even on bigger machines the top slide is a weakness, like your oiler! I have the same syoss bottle borrowed from my wife lol.

Thanks for the video. The mistake you made was lubricating the the tool post bolt, instead put a piece of plain paper between the tool post holder and the mount.
