Fans of KBEV, Dave "Dusty" Stiles & BHHS will enjoy an exclusive memory!
ForTheBoys, another exclusive, is a project Gary & I created. Debuting in 2002 as a live streaming web show 3x/wk, it was picked up in 2004 by Out Tv in in Canada. The show combines plenty of irreverence, live guests, callers, chat room & prize giveaways. Then there's the closing theme which became more like our anthem after the first 150 shows.
Also enjoy our own produced videos of Joan Rivers and Bette Davis at their respective album signings at Tower Records in Westwood, CA, and our featurettes on KKHR Los Angeles - Kick Ass Hit Radio 93 from the 80s!
Other exclusive videos include: Wet Talent; A very banned commercial for Johnson's Baby Powder (age restricted!); The 1982 Emmy Awards opening featuring the '82 Dodgers lineup & all the stars of the day in song; Danielle Chambers, daughter of Leslie Uggams, singing two original songs.
Saw this in a college class at SIU circa 1977. We were all familiar with the actual commercial and it was a total shock. I have never heard so many people laugh so hard, for so long, in my life.
Yesterday was Bette Davis day on TCM, I watched The Great Lie, which I never saw before with Mary Astor it was very good. She’s always been my favorite love Davis.❤️
By the time I got to her she'd already overstayed her time, and there were still dozens of people behind me. What's really sad is what a ghost town Westwood Village is now.
I wasn’t alive during the 80’s but I can tell by these airchecks and promos that KKHR was the best station there was. I wonder what they would have if they were modern.
Great memories of Jack! We had him in Boston shortly at WMEX 1510 circa 1968 I believe he left for CHUM soon after. Enjoyed his rapid fire delivery. RIP...........
Wow, I don't remember those call letters at all but it was definitely a competitive radio market back then: KROQ, KMET, KJLH, KDAY, KIIS, KNAC. Lots of great music choices!
Thank you so much for posting this priceless video. Joan's brilliance and light never dimmed. She had only just begun at the time of this video and she went on to become a legendary superstar. I'm very sorry to read in the comments below that the adorable host of this video passed away.
@@ForTheBoys thanks for the info. Any other info on this? Directors name, dates etc etc? I’m compiling a bunch of info for a video of why I don’t trust big pharma id like it to be factual :)
Those guys at 2:27 are adorable, the bearded guy is a truly devoted fan and his brunette pal is super cute (love the way his shoulders raise at one point in excitement). I hope they are still around and well and hope they got to see it; if it aired on a school television they may not have, hopefully it was also on cable access.
I wish I could have seen her reaction when the guy asked her to sign that poster with Miriam Hopkins on it. It has become well known that Davis and Hopkins DESPISED each other!
Oh, my Godness. She was signing them up but she wasn't smoking! To see that woman in mortal flesh without a cigarette in her mouth must have been very very disappointed
Really? I didn't see that on the Video. Thanks so much for your information. Shall I fasten my seat belt? It looks like going to be a bumpy night! Greetings from Spain.
So great! Thank you for posting. I was on the cusp of 16 that year, living in the SF Valley, altogether sheltered (for a few more years at least...LOL) I would have loved to camp out and CAMP IT OUT with that group. The sweethearts knew a legend when they saw one. Loved the Tower employee's "What A Dump!" tee.
