At 2:20 you have text on screen reading "Really dumb on my part not to turn the spool before taking out the handle and drag compression washers". Can you explain what you mean by turning the spool and why you would need to do so? I am looking to install a drag clicker in my new SLX DC XT and I haven't seen anyone mention turning the spool as part of the installation steps. I just want to make sure I don't do anything wrong.
It's nothing major to worry about. If my memory serves me right I had the drag backed all the way off so I had alittle trouble getting I think it was a nut off. I corrected it by assembling and engage the drag. It's nothing to worry about just follow the same steps. Becareful when taking apart your slx dc xt. I had troubles with couple of screws that ended up stripping.
It was a mistake on my part. I didn't let the knob sit properly over the bearing before tightening the screw. It was corrected and it's spinning as it should.
Vanford was my first Shimano. Wanted something light & strong for inshore fishing. I loved it so much i now have about a dozen Shimano spinners. Even the FX is a fine reel if you're on a tight budget. I will say the Stradic is my favorite. I love the 3000 size paired with the Shimano GLF rod for an all-purpose rig. I will lilely get the new Vanford when they release it. I'm addicted at this point.
@@tackleaddictgy Not your fault. I have 2 Stradics (both 5000) and 2 Daiwa BG MQ (4000/5000). Only the BG MQ5000 is bigger than the other 3. Should be ok. lol. Or I can sell them. lol
congrats to all the winner... you can't never win everybody sir. just keep on doing what is your doing with this channel and i do hope to win something in the future. have a great day and cheers. 👍👍
Penn reels are tough especially the pursuit. The updates this generation of pursuit got is fantasic for the cost especially that little sleeve that is between the main shaft and pinion gear.
I find that most penn reel will get smoother as you use is more often. That is what happens to most of my Penn reel and i reckon the penn spinfisher is no difference.
