So in china,(the place where I currently live) , there is an 8/9 yrs combined program for students straight out of highschool called an 8 year track MD program(basically it's 5 yrs of MBBS studies + 3 years of residency/research trainings) which is actually pretty similar to a MD/PhD in the US but the PhD is actually the MD in this part(since ecfmg acknowledges MBBS as MD equivalent ) thus it actually saves a med student 4 yrs of undergraduate studies compared to schools in north america
my son is planning to graduate in 3 years. my question is he able to take is MCAT in his 3 rd year? how did u get into med school if u graduated in 3 years. post your admission details like when to apply, etc. it would be great
Hello Michael! ... Listen, we no longer are living in the dark ages where dissecting human corpses is having to get done in secret! If you absolutely enjoyed biology, chemistry, arithmetic (geometry, algebra, etc.), and you were able to excel tremendously in these subjects, let me introduce you to the real practice/pursuit of medicine. First, you want to work at the morgue where you can get up close to human corpses under the watchful eye of a teacher/superior and determine the cause of death so that your reports can be given over to the detectives of the crime scene. Then, you want to work as an ambulance driver so that you can save lives that are in need of critical treatment at the time of injury, so that you and your co-worker can drive the patient(s) to the hospital. Then, you want to work in the Emergency Room of a Hospital where you will be exposed to patients -from mild to severe- and you will see just how each patient gets cured from their miserable ailment(s). And then, after some time in the E.R., you'll want to join the red-cross so that you can get some in depth medical exposure and so that you can figure out what branch of medicine most intrigues you. SO THAT BY THE TIME YOU FINISH THIS REAL LIFE MEDICAL SCIENCE, YOU WILL BE A DOCTOR THAT CAN PERFORM ANY AND MOSTLY ALL HUMAN BIOLOGICAL PROCEDURES. Plus, you are a service to the community from day one & you're not getting yourself in any high dollar debts!
Bro went from “how I scored 132” to “yo this is a total nightmare and as long as I pass I’m good with myself” yo I’m officially scared AF😂. Keep grinding though man. Ik it’s not easy.
Hi. I studied master of nano technology in my back home. And I'm in canada now and like to study MD. I do not know what to study to get familiar with basics of chemistry , physics, biology and so on. Is Kaplan good ?
This was very helpful, I am a chem pre-med wanting to get a pharmacology doctorate, but lately I've felt like being a physician and interacting with patients is an important part of what I want to do with my career so I've been looking into MSTPs/MD-PhD programs but wasn't sure if it was the right thing
Your rejections are quite hard but you are a great person in Academics. Forget about the Ivy League. The lesser known Schools are simply amazing, Iowa and Pittsburgh are great choices.
There is no such thing as the 100th percentile. If you scored better than everyone that took the test you would be in the 99th percentile. Why? Because you didn't score better than yourself. I would expect my (future) doctor to know this.
Don't know why I'm fixated that he has a rice cooker, but made it on the stove top. Nope, not about the vagaries and difficulties of med school, but his rice cooking.
Im planning on going to dental school. I personally didn’t do good in high school. Now I’m 21 and found a passion in dentistry, after assisting for a year. I’m starting from ground zero and ready to go change for better
I went from 40 to 93 with an advanced academic preparedness, and owe it all to Mr David, I Finally gained admittion with the best grade arithmetic reasoning,i used the preparation tips and tricks of Mr DAVID just 3days of working with him and I passed, I was referred to him by my friend before my exams so, am actually recommending him to you friends.
please do a video on how you graduated college in three years yet still had the time to build your medical school application! (ex: clinical experience, extracurriculars, etc.)
OMG I FINALLY FOUND THE VIDEO I NEEDED Edit: Hi I am reconsidering doing this program, I already want to do a PhD, and graduated with my BS in May 2021 (Applied Mathematics with an emphasis in Computational Biology). The reason I am reconsidering is because with thinking about my career i have a couple of things I want to do. 1. Teaching at a medical school ( how to provide care to patients, and as well as my research ( math biology) ) 2. Using my research to potentially connect with my patients ( How does my research directly impact with the patients I am caring for ,is that is something this career path seriously does. ) I would like to talk more, and I am really sorry for the long comment! I hope you can answer some of my questions!
