Tip: regarding your door lock being stuck shut. I have an '83 4 W.D. Pickup, SR-5 Longbed. The door pull on the outside, can get stuck in the up position if the truck sits for awhile. This keeps the mechanism from opening.Spray a little WD-40 on the door latch's little hinges. You can see them if you look underneath the latch. Yes, the simplicity of these Trucks is awesome! An 8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, maybe even a 22mm socket will allow you to pull the motor and trans. The body steel is a bit thin, but the steel boxed frame is stout, provided it usn't rusted out. Love these solid front axle Toyotas! Good luck with!
Dude, I think you have my old truck. If that paint is pearl blue metallic, I sprayed that on it in the early 1990s. If there is green zinc chromate primer that can be seen near any paint chips, that is 100% my old one.
Hey! So I did this wiring on my 2002 and I still get hyper flash and my running lights are trying to ask my turn signals. I have a blinker that’s burnt out in the front and my license plate lights are burnt out, you all of those things need to be working for everything to function properly?
Abia visto otro video y hera básicamente lo mismo pero usted lo esplico más sencillo gracias yo las compre para mi tacoma 2003 y no tenia idea de como instalarlas gracias
Thanks for the guide, just installed mine and it went great. Although since I'm idiot, with a lot of effort I pulled the pin from the front where you push down the pin. I was like "easy my ass!", but then I realized.... hahah. Thanks again!
@Thetacofan So i followed these steps! the lights i have came with the resonators attached and with both of them on, my left blinker hyperflashes and also looks like it looses power while the right is ok! When I removed both resonators they both hyperflash but ultimately look the same. Putting the right resonator then the left light just stops working! My left reverse bulb also does not work wether it has the resonator or not while the right always works. It is not the bulb because I switched them both and they worked just fine on the right side. Is there some sort of wiring issue going on with my left light?
Are those ANZO tail lights? And did you have to put resistors on them? I've seen several listings that show resistors. I'm so glad I ran across this video before ordering them.
Thank you just did this and everything works now. Pro tip if your having trouble removing the pins. Pull the wire from the bottom while pressing the tab down and pull the pin and wire from underneath the connector. Way easier
It works! Following up on my previous comment to say that I completed this modification and tested the lights. Everything functions as expected! I was able to find all the parts at my local hardware store for under $25. If like me you had already tossed your old lights, the pin I bought was Gardner Bender brand .25" male tab disconnect. I think the part number is 20-143M. It's not an exact replica of the ones in the plug, but I was able to gorilla glue it into place and the female tacoma hole accepts it. I used size 18 wire and a Push Guard 3 conductor insulated with liquid tape to connect the necessary wires, soldering the tips of the wire strands first to make the insertion easier.
