Hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching! If you have any questions or would like to say something make sure to let me know in the comments! See you next time!
Bought that exact lift kit for my 84. It was 500 bucks cheaper than replacing the OEM springs. had to buy tires too... fifteen hundred bucks later! You struggle with getting the new springs in? I had a hell of a time!!
Looks like a nice truck. Your going to need to lengthen your front driveshaft or get a driveshaft spacer. When you flex the front suspension the drive shaft will likely come apart. The angle will work if your doing slow speed stuff. Your u-joints will not last as long with that angle. Your rear spring shackle angle is terrible and your not not going to be happy with it. It will ride horrible and your shackles can invert and get stuck which can be unsafe.
Hi A Fro, I bought a 83Toyota pickup, and it seems like someone at some point installed a "ad a leaf" so I'm learning from videos and comments about this little trucks, I want to appreciate your comment. Give me valuable information. So what is the solution to fix the rear spring shackles angle?
Looks good. Idk your preference but for me I woulda went with like at lest 2 or even 1 inch lift springs for the back just to level it out. I just prefer the even level look but that’s jus my opinion. I recently did just that to my 84 just a couple days ago but I think imma stick to 33X12.50 cause I got 1.5 inch spacers but even without them the 35s rub on the fenders when flexed. But I love the wide look so yea 33s with the 2wd fenders look wide af an fit perfect.
Yeah I know it rides a little high in the rear. I tried to find a smaller lift at the time and couldn’t find one so I went with the 3 inch. It has settled a good bit since this video though. I’ll make an update video soon!
Did you ever put 35s on? Do you have photographs.? I’m trying to decide between a 3 inch and 4 inch lift. So far it’s still feels like a 4 inch will be a little too high or make it seem a little too jacked up on his tippy toes with 35s. Curious to see if you got larger tires with us 3 inch left. I have a 1980, long bed. Thanks
Are those original square headlights ? I have 81, 82 with round, and a 3rd with square's I'm guessinging it's an 83. 2 are the same blue color. Drivin a 97 today
Lookin good! I have an 80 with the exact lift and tire size but falkens. Tires are squeezed on the stock wheels and I want wider. I was wondering what your wheel offset is. The stance looks perfect!
I have a 1982 toyota pickup all I need it to wire the radio. Which I cant seem to figure it out since the previous owner destroyed the wires for the radio
Same here! I got an OEM radio and wired it up and it seems I used the wrong wires but I don't know how because I used the wires that powered the Kenwood it came with lol. Let me know if you figure it out!
How stiff was the front of the truck with the lift springs? I'm thinking of buying the same front lift springs and maybe making a custom front leaf pack out of them to get a better ride and gain only 1-2" height
I have not yet gotten any mpg specs on the lift but I'm sure it doesn't help much. When I am finished working on it I'll let you know what mpg it gets!
Yeah mine is. What ayotochtli is correct. I recently got a high steer setup ready for install. The trucks in paint right now so that’ll be going on soon!
It’s currently being completely disabled and having metal work done to it. As of right now it’s in pieces lol. I’ll be making another video when it’s somewhat back together!
I believe it is. There were two trucks before it but they basically have a similar body, frame, and motor so they are considered 1st gen Pickups/Hi-lux’.
I’m not sure. I have a set I will try on soon but we will see. I might have to do something with the front fenders like most of pickups. Only time will tell!
@@TheTacoFan7 I’m doing somehting a little different with mine,,,gona take rear pro come 4inch lift springs and put them in front,,,,read a couple post about it,,gona give it a shot,,,thinking about an arb air locker for the rear as well
