I am NOT very knowledgeable about the CW. Did a chain of command go Lee: Jackson: Forrest: Stuart: Mosby? That must be the greatest command chain in history!
Thank you for your suggestions. I will try and do what you said in some other videos. I enjoy your videos very much. Have a wonderful day. - Önerileriniz için teşekkürler. Başka videolarda söylediğini yapmaya çalışacağım. Videolarınızdan çok keyif alıyorum. İyi günler.
Yes it is but the program loaded over 100 g when I purchased it. I am running the program using a gaming laptop with an i7 processor but I need more computing power to run it. Surprisingly it is not that expensive. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you for the beautiful views have a very beautiful place that I will be seeing very soon with my own two eyes for which I was gifted my sight late in life again thank you
Graphics are really darn close. Even the trees next to the taxiway. I used to fly down there frequently to check out the progress of Glacier Girl. Many fond memories for me. Thanks for sharing your story.
I was at Karamursel 1970-72 as a printer systems operator and freelanced at the base station that used call letters KCFR (Karamursel Communications Facility Radio. Did a weekly oldies show, "Wax Museum." At the time we had to delete music from Jesus Christ Superstar to keep the Turks happy
Lived here for years longboarded every road for years and I must say I’ve caught a lot of rides in this small town and I wouldn’t dare go back to my home state for the hospitality here
I am learning to fly the new Flight Simulator. When I get more experience I will be landing at many other airports in Turkey. Years ago I soloed in a Cessna 150 but at the time I was raising a family and the flight time was expensive. I think I had 25 hours flying time when I stopped never to return. This new Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is fun and surprisingly not that expensive.
Hi Frank. Enjoyed your Flight Simulator video. My wife grew up in Grantsboro and I have been flying the simulator around the area to show her the sights from the sky. I’ve been flying from Deerfield. Planning to take a trip soon to Norris Dam to see how well it is rendered. Look forward to seeing more flights from you describing points of interest. Russell.
NothingButHistory I’ve been using High with some tweaks to improve the FPS. You might try that and get smother video performance with little loss in details and landscape quality.
@@fromrak I am running this Flight Simulator 2020 on an ASUS Gaming Laptop with 16g ram and an i7 processor. This Flight Simulator 2020 has only been available beginning August 2020. I know all the tweaks capable of running the program and I usually begin testing with the highest settings and work myself backwards. This video is using the HD setting with 1920 X 1080p. I can go all the way to 4K although my monitor is not 4K. Eventually I would like to do all in 4K but it will take some upgrades to do that. As is...... my current CPU can handle it enough to play and let's face it this stuff is play stuff :)
I found this link to be very helpful, they went through all of the settings and identified the ones that had the biggest improvements in FPS vs. video quality. You might find it useful as you do your testing. www.tomshardware.com/amp/features/microsoft-flight-simulator-benchmarks-performance-system-requirements
Double rudder cables and controls is more mechanical systems than a single tail. Engine parts are cramped into tight spaces making it more risky. Its simply a better option to go with a single. This is a military aircraft design and it is overdue.
You are correct......you also lead with the rear engine on takeoff. That minimizes the impact of any pepples kicked up by the front prop from hitting the rear prop. Also you know the rear engine is running....
It's crazy how different, yet how similar Atlanta looks. It's my home city, for sure, but so different. No traffic, no massive construction, no giant Bank of America Plaza.
We took the kids to a little park/playground in White Oak about a month ago. It was located about a mile from the school. We ended up driving through Duff into LaFollete. I'll have to look for the remnants of Anthras next time I'm up that way.
I am not familiar with a park in the White Oak community. The next time you are in the area the Anthras road turns off of highway 90 just before you cross the CSX railroad between Tackett Creek and Eagan. You can see the Anthras Baptist Church from highway 90. Thanks for the comment. :)
Someone gave me a long comment that mistakenly got deleted. They were talking about an area that I did a video. This is the link to a video that presents the locations you were talking about. Sorry the comment was mistakenly deleted. This is the link to the video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5WoZbHUizIU.html
Thank you for this beautiful and informative journey through Rogersville. Another date in the town's history of significance, at least to me, is July 1975. That's when my parents met at Po Boy's Diner.
Thanks for this memory. I was at Georgia Tech from '85-'96. I could drive from the airport to my apartment by muscle memory! In '85 the downtown connector was absolutely terrible because of construction. In some spots it was a single lane or two split singles under the bridges. As a freshman on the airport shuttle I remember having to time it right so not to miss the flight. What we see in this video is the result of that construction and the early traffic flow that was based on maybe four or six lanes total just a couple of years prior. Now, when visiting, it is always a nightmare. Like other commenters, traffic looks so orderly. The funniest thing is that I always thought people drove crazy around the downtown exits (which were a little challenging at peak times). Amazing what happens when cars are just a bit less capable, wider lanes, and no cell phones are in the picture. After visiting Atlanta recently, though, I can't say I miss it. Heck, I can't miss it, because I can't recognize where anything was anymore. It's all gone!
Reading all the comments about traffic, Atlanta has tremendously grown. Metro Atlanta Population was under 3 millon in the late 80s, early 90s. Today the population is almost to 7 million. And the metro Atlanta cities and state havent done anything in regards for transit with the population growth. Anyway nice video.
Makes me wonder what technology will do to the big metro areas. Many have discovered working from home remotely works just as well. Thanks for your comment :)
Like being on a Galaxy a Fur-Piece from Earth. LOL - I thought the Atlanta traffic was bad in 89 and I cannot imagine driving it now. I wish someone would take the same direction on the Interstate as I did in 89 and video it with a good GoPro. This video was recorded on a big VCR camera and the quality back then was not good.
I saw the results of that train derailment the next day. My grandmother lived in Jellico and I was with my family driving on 25W. I was born in 1938 so I was old enough to remember it. The thing I can see in my mind when I think of that time is the setaline torches cutting some of the men out of the wreckage. For a while they had a large plaque placed on the big rock in the middle of the creek. The last time I was traveling on 25W the plack was missing. I assume it was copper and someone probably melted it down and sold it as scrap copper.
Wow!! This Biography was fantastic. I have always wanted to know more details of this great man’s life! Even had he made it to Gettysburg on time it would not have affected the war’s outcome, or even the battle . As it was he luckily had seized/ captured many many ambulances to take there which as it turned out that they were desperately needed.God bless all of these brave men. They handled this matter in their generation! They had the courage , determination, organization, will, and brains with brawn!!❤️If I were I would be hero worshipping these men and their statues!
I like this subject very much. It is endlessly fascinating. The Cavalry Generals were so brave!! I am related to George Armstrong. But I love all of the history that surrounds this war and of those who participated and fought. Over one and a half million horses died in this war!❤️God bless them.
If you ever get a chance to go you will not be dissapointed. The road up is in good shape and the people who own it keep the place in good shape. I think I am correct in saying it is privately owned.
We had a lot of rain the first part of the year and the greenery looked like velvet. It has now dried off with temperatures in the upper 90's and things are starting to look brown. Norris Lake is up into the tree line. Yes this is a beautiful place. :)
An truly outstanding cavalryman and charismatic leader, to be sure. Stuart has been unfairly criticized for his actions during the Gettysburg campaign. His orders were contradictory and could not possibly have been carried out as written.
Thanks for the air check. It brings back some memories. My recordings from AFRS Karamursel are on reel-to-reel. That's a format I'm no longer able to play back. I was stationed at Karamursel from late-December 1966 until June 18, 1968. The 50-watt base station could be heard at my work place, Site 4, about 9 miles off base toward Yalova. Because the station was assigned a frequency not used in Europe (the difference between 10 kHz and 9 kHz spacing), the station heterodyned with other stations operating in the area. The result was that the station was difficult to listen to while off base. Why the station was assigned a frequency not in use in Europe was difficult to understand. In the U.S., AM radio stations are required to stay on their assigned frequency (within less than 20 Hz) to prevent heterodyning.
Thanks for the information. With the AM frequency we received good groundwave into Istanbul. We received the Associated Press wireless service and the guys in operations provided us with two receivers for our teletype which would choose from the strongest signals. Most people when I tell them about those days cannot believe our news was not censored. Adrian Cronauer (Good Morning Vietnam) was working for AFRS at the same time I was. Could not believe all the crap he had to put up with. We were told to make it appear more like a stateside radio station. I had commercial radio experience before transferring to Karamursel. I was working part time at KPMJ-FM Oxnard, California while stationed at Oxnard Air Force Base (ADC). Karamursel KAS or KCDI was a fantastic assignment and I have many good memories.
@@NothingButHistory As I said, the AM frequency couldn't be heard 9 miles away without interference because it was on a non-standard frequency for Europe (or the Middle East). There is no way that the ground wave was heard in Istanbul unless someone went to extreme lengths -- An R-390 receiver and a directional antenna which would have to be HUGE at 1590 kHz.). The embassy may have been able to receive the programming via TRC-24 relay that we had, but not ground wave. You said the station was on 1590 kHz. The nearest standard assigned frequencies in that part of the world are: 1584 kHz (creating a constant 6 kHz interference tone) and 1593 kHz (creating a constant 3 kHz interference tone in the received programing). Either way, it was difficult to listen to even when it could be received. In 1967, I found an old teletype machine in our storage shed. I set it up and asked operations if they could send something to us to check the machine. (All other communications to us were multiplexed.) They offered the AP which was great, but when the Six-day War broke out, the AP feed was dropped because of the Turks sensitivity to uncensored news.
@@DonDenton I listened to the station on my many trips to Istanbul to get things released from customs. I listened to it on my last night in Turkey at the Istanbul Hilton. I also listened to the station in the parking lot at the Turkish Government Customs Office in Istanbul. We even received some complaints from the radio stations in Istanbul that presented the Billboard top 40 because we were in competition with their listeners in Istanbul. On another NOTE - I did the top 40 program from 7 pm to midnight. I received telephone request from the South Pacific region. I am sure that was not ground wave LOL. I had a reputation of programming some good music and I am sure the guys in operations found a way to share me. LOL
@@DonDenton I also have a video on my RU-vid where I am doing a radio interviewing with Dean Dillon entitled "My 1983 Dean Dillon radio interview" He was nominated for a Grammy "Tennessee Whiskey"
This is interesting. I’m actually surprised at how little Atlanta has changed. Watching that drive into downtown felt similar to driving downtown on a light day in 2020. Things got VERY different approaching 17th St and into Marietta though.
