A few times in my life I have witnessed things that reinforces my belief. A few days ago, my wife and I decided we wanted an adventure, so we headed up to our favorite place in the North Carolina mountains to experience and August 2021 Tropical Storm as it made its way across the High Country of North Carolina. In the front yard of our location stands an old crooked Apple Tree that some say is over 100 years old. The base of the tree is worn and the innards of the base are gone and how it is standing is a mystery to me. It is always loaded with apples and after the storm we cooked some of the fruits of the tree and it was delicious. As I sat on the porch in a rocking chair enjoying the passing storm, I noticed the old Apple Tree was standing strong as all the trees around it were attacked by the storm. I was amazed at what I saw and this video is a small span of time during that event. This video was recorded in and around 7:00pm 17 August 2021. The weather service had tornado warnings out during the time of this video and the next day we heard about a tornado in an area a few miles from our location. The rain came down in torrents after dark and the small creek in front of our location came out of its banks. It was impossible for me to sleep as I listened to the rain, and when the rain was in a slow cycle, I could hear the creek moving among the old growth that had collected during the years of non events. Money cannot purchase anything this awesome, and sometimes you need to just experience Mother Nature the way she rolls.

I watched your apple tree video. Made me feel homesick.
The reason the apple tree did not sway is two fold. One reason is because of where it stands. It isn't tall.enough to sway like the hardwoods and isn't out in the open like the tree in the yard that is standing alone.
The other reason is by God's design. If a fruit tree had pliable branches like the hard wood, the weight of the fruit would snap limbs off. Think about how many pounds of apples are on that tree. Apples that to grow to maturity have to be protected from falling. God brought the wind and the rain, but he also brought the apple tree who is strong enough to withstand it.
