Thanks for this. I bought one last year. Put just 1k on it. Sat over the winter took her out today and found a dead rear brake. Trading this pos in first chance I get.
Many thanks for the advice. Contrary to expectations, it worked well and fast. German: Habe wie beschrieben den Nagel schräg eingeschlagen und spitz angefeilt. Man muss ein kleines Loch treffen und dann den Stock zur Schloss Aussenseite bewegen. Also von Innen nach Aussen.
Thanks dude, this was a really big help. Now I have a rear brake too....lol. It's just a sucky design cause there's no clean way to bleed those banjo bolts.
Try sitting in the car, doors closed, lock and unlock the car from inside using the padlock button on the dashboard. Then get out and boot should be unlocked. Sometimes theres a thing where you need to hold the button down for a few seconds. But worked for me. Peugeout 207 cc convertible
This is such a pain in the arse job. What isn't mentioned is you cant see the hole in the release because of the trim...locked my only key fob in the boot by mistake...I am so thankful I tied a loop of nylon cord through the hole to dangle down - in my case a broom handle with a headed screw did the trick...
Even cutting a hole behind behind number plate does not give easy access. I gave up and cut the wire going into the catch and hooked them up to a 12v battery, this triggered the micro switch which opened the lock. Once the boot was open I checked the releasing slot at the back of the catch and even with easy access for the screwdriver it wouldn't budge. So that method would not have worked for me. I think you need to be a bit lucky to succeed with the broom stick method. If I'd cut more material away I could have got to the connector and avoided cutting the wires.
Thank you Steve and others. I will attempt to deal with this problem tomorrow by cutting a hole behind the number plate. Any advice on best way to do this and any pitfalls to avoid? Thanks. Bill
You good sir are a legend i had a problem with the roof it wouldn't shut all the way down but did managed to get into the roof to put it back up manually, i realise it was low on hydraulic fluid but the boot close before i had chance to tighten the bleed screw and pull the cover back so glad the boot was empty thank you so much you save me a small fortune.
The more modern electronic level sensor can be fitted cheaply and quite easily. Here is how I did mine on my channel comeinhandynow ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bgyy-ds7nNw.html
Unfortunately I don’t believe this to be a safe modification as in the event of an accident the force will be directed into the squab frame and not the base chassis as per the design intention, if it was safe then VW wouldn’t go to the trouble of designing a handed chassis and it would save them a fortune. It’s very resourceful of you though to find a solution but please be careful. Before I get shot to pieces I am suitably experienced in vehicle seating to have an informed opinion and I so want it to be this easy but sadly it’s not.
Had this problem, solved it recently. Open the conv. top but stop after the rear window lifts. This exposes the rear pillar drainage ducts. You'll find a connecting block under the drain point (a little hole in the seal near the top) which then leads off down to the wheel arches where water is supposed to drain away. This downpipe gets blocked. You'll need to flush that pipe through using compressed air or water, i used a large oil puller syringe full of clean water. In fact all four of my drains were blocked, the two at the front as well. All sorted now. Hope that helps.
Hi Steve did you have any issues with seat after fitting in van do you have any pic's of seat in van was seat belt position OK? Sorry for all questions regarding
Neil I took a risk and found away to fix something neither a main dealer or Peugeot spealist could do and now I’m educating other people that it is possible to do ..... “it doesn’t always pay off”
Thank you very much man, you helped me with my big problem. The oficial peaugeot workshops at portugal doesnt know what to do they want to cut my car by inside the doors, spend thousand of euros amd destroy my car to only fix the lock, was insane, but thanks to you i was able suggest to other workshop open it, thank you and god bless, big hug !!!!!!
Hi Steve.. wish I'd seen this before buying and replacing the sensor!! You were dead right it is the float that is shagged! Quick question.. did you just drain out enough fluid before changing the tank or did you drain down completely? Cheers Ben
Hi, is they're anyone including the person that posted this video that would be confident enough to do a perfect job for me doing this for my Peugeot 407 coupe on the drivers side? I'm willing to drive it to you and pay your price and I already have the parts required :)
Hi Steve, thanks so much for sharing this! Did it today and works perfectly. I repaired the flap with a composite of araldite and wrappings of twine so should be stronger than before. I also used some very sticky foil tape to stick the cutout back together to save a big mess. Thanks again for taking the time to make the video.
