Hi Steve.. wish I'd seen this before buying and replacing the sensor!! You were dead right it is the float that is shagged! Quick question.. did you just drain out enough fluid before changing the tank or did you drain down completely? Cheers Ben
Depends on how low the coolant is. If there is still an inch or so of it in the bottle it's fine to drive but if it runs out it could overheat and ruin the engine. Get some coolant and top it up then keep an eye on it until you can get it fixed properly.
My 2016 Insignia's coolant is disappearing somewhere and I have to top up every day, otherwise hot aircon isn't working and blowing only cold. any suggestions ?
@@DjJoSePH86 to be honest I don't know what the problem was, I put a new tank on and couldn't see a crack in the old one, also a new cap..seems ok at the moment..I do wonder if it could be a problem with the cap, as it controls the pressure and releases coolant through the overflow...I really don't.. also when we put the new tank on we filled it up and ran the car, fan kept coming on and coolant disappeared..we couldn't figure out where though...it wasn't on the floor. After running it and releasing pressure when opening the cap it seemed to settle, we Did this a few times untill the pressure build up was gone...seems ok, I check regular seems to dip on occasion...
