this is a small video as to how i fixed and issue with the dual climate control stuck on hot on the drivers side, the passenger side worked fine...can stick on hot or cold its the same fault....
Hi Im from N.Ireland, doing these repairs every week. Do not force the motor back as he says it can be damaged. If you plug it in and use the heater controls to turn it to the right postition. If it doesnt turn far enough. Disconnect it. Then put the heat the opposite way on the controls and wait for a few secs until the control thinks it has gone all the way round. Then plug the motor in again and turn the heat the opposite way again. You will get the extra adjustment required.
This is all very helpful...BUT after getting into my heater, I discovered that none of the flaps were actually broken. I then found that one of the two alloy heater pipes was hot and the other cold...clearly the heater matrix was blocked. I wish I had checked this before cutting holes in my heater box!!!! A flush with citric acid solution worked miracles!!!!
thankyou so much for your Video. the Garage wanted 1000 pounds to take everything apart. i drill a round hole in the side of my Peugeot 206 2006 estates evaporator housing and found a colouring pencil from my son Holding the Bottom flap Open!
IMPORTANT...please note when you cut out the heater box flap make sure you don't cut out the servo motors mounting...this has to be still attached to the main box so's not to loose its position....IMPORTANT
thanks for the couple of videos on this. Much appreciated. Not an easy job I have to say. I just got the damn flap out and I'm already dreading getting it back in. Anyway, good job, thanks.
yeh ive done it,took out the heat flap, repaired it with araldite, its very akward on a 407 coupe less room but got there in tge end saved over £2000 robbing bastards its easy now thx mate ✋👍👍👍
@@adrianharris2987 hi I heated a flat bladed screw driver on my cooker flame a few times and melted the plastic around the shape you want cut out, take heater flap out
Thank you. Did it a little easyer on my Citroen c5 2006...same thing. Made a square hole about 30x30 mm under the servo motor and pushed the flap to close the cold air, and sealed the hole with tape. If needed it is easy to remove and push the flap back... Used about one hour... Saved 12.000,- Nok
+Adrian McClatchie Yes. Here in northern Norway in this time of year I have closed it (stuck on hot), but if you dont want it that hot, you can adjust the flap in the position you find comfortably and then ust tape to fix it.. I dit the same on drivers side(left) too. Had to cut trough the panel beside the knee-airbag and then cut a hole into the flap and used a screwdriver to close the flap... Wander to put a stick on the flap so I easy can adjust the temperatur (driver side).
Note, I also added a jigsaw blade under the metal of the can for rigidity as i thought the can might flex and break the joint under stress. On testing the jigsaw blade I found it to be very strong in that respect. Being under the smooth metal did not damage the rubber of the upper flap as it uses the shaft of the lower flap to sit against. Otherwise I might have wrapped wire all along it for further strength. seems really strong now and the aircon works beautifully once more!
I wondered if it was possible to recover the broken shaft? So with nothing to lose, once I had cut the side out and removed the old flap I used a vacuum cleaner and pushed the pipe into the base of the heater, waggling it around it then sucked it up!!! Using araldite and a strip of an old tin can (approx 8cm x 2cm) bent at 90 degrees I bonded the unit back together and the can was used for bracing over the split. Now it is very strong, replaced and working just fine, cost max £8.00 :)
any clues on how to get at it? I cant see how we get to the exposed part of this video. I can see a panel under the steering wheel which might give me more access but cant shift it! thanks Jon
i have put everything back together but the it looks like the flap shaft will snap again as the acuator does not seem to be in the correct positioned ,but i have put it back as it was. ?
my one is only putting out cold air. is there some way that will only put out hot air thats all you need in ireland anyway. and do it without cutting anything out???
I have replaced the flap on my monozone with the genuine part from Peugeot and it fits in fine (only goes one way) but when I put it all back together the motor does not align with the shaft. I have the shaft in max heat position and my temp set to max on the gauge so in theory they should be aligned. Very confusing how they could be out of line so much. Please help!!
My local garage says that there is a strong metal support bar in the way that comes down diagonally from the dash and is probably welded in place. I haven't seen this but can anyone confirm and if so how can we get it out to get access to the heater unit please?
Also, you shouldnt have to break the plastic. Ive never had to. If its cut in the right place you shouldnt have to. Also, Passenger side or driver side are as common as each other as are the mono flap designs! You should replace both flaps to do a proper job. And the mono flaps are alot more awkward to do. Ive only done 3 of them that way and its very awkward because of the extra length to the flap. Im doing these in N.Ireland, you can find me on the Peugeot Forums£150 altogether includingparts.
this is only a temporary repair it doesnt last the company pugparts who i work for specialise in removing the dash completely and totally recondition the heaterbox this is the only way to properly rectify this issue
sorry i don't do a repair service i sell cars for a living and this was a problem we came across to solve the cheapest and easiest way instead of replacing the whole heater box and removing it (which is a huge job)
mine is a 2006 diesel estate, good video but I would like to do it myself and cant see how to get close to it? there is a plastic panel under the steering wheel and that doesn't want to come off, that might give me a better access. Shame you didn't show the various stages of getting to it for us novices :)
Hi, is they're anyone including the person that posted this video that would be confident enough to do a perfect job for me doing this for my Peugeot 407 coupe on the drivers side? I'm willing to drive it to you and pay your price and I already have the parts required :)
mate I'm 14 my father trusted me to remove the glove box disconnected the servo cut around the flap remove it glue it back together and get a electrical hot glue gun to glue the cover back together
Great Video Steve was an Inspiration to my Mechanic who successfully completed the Repair on my 407, although he did say "Never Again" so Sorry I can't recomend him to anyone
