When you replace lock mechanism the door lock fork was up and forward. When inserting lack mechanism in fork it was facing down and forward. Did I miss something? Thanks, Ken
Song Title & Artist Information is showing in my 2011 E90 whit CIC proff but it will not update when chaning song when using my Pixel 7 Pro. It's realy annoying. :(
Great video! I cleared my front drain tubes but pretty sure I detached the tube from the sunroof tray as water goes in the drain hole but then comes inside the car by the front floormats. The reason I think I detached the tube is I see water stains at the top of the windshield pillar on the material. Do you know if those pillar panels come off easy? Hoping I could remove them and re-attach the hose to the sunroof tray drainaige hole area? I may have damaged the tube clearing it with wire so not sure how difficult it is to replace. Thanks again, hope I made sense.
Your also supposed to keep the transmission temp between 35 and 45 Celsius using a code reader with live data. If you get transmission too hot the fluid would expand to much and your fluid will actually be low. Good job otherwise. Being low is just as bad as being too full.
Learn from his mistakes. I had excess adhesive from old one, used goo gone to get rid of it. Plastic razor blade was clutch to have as well. Lay it in the sn for sure. Super easy.
Doubtful that stainless steel was the right choice. If you don't use anti sieze it's possible that you never got it tight. It could have just galled. Check out AVE's video on galling.
Thank you. I’m in the process of updating this video but I’m waiting on a part from a supplier so I don’t think I will be able to publish it for several weeks.
@@JRsGarage I have a 09 bmw x5 30i and just bought the Dorman 599 961 water pump from rockauto didn’t have much to choose from because my car is the adaptive climate 4zone when I open the the lil rubber things that cover the holes I seen lil bit coolant seems like someone returned it idk if I should worry about it
THanks from France, I was watching all the videos to change my water pump and thermostat and was very surprised to see that it was reinforced... Of course it is a convertible. Thanks a lot for your video
I just did it as shown in video. The hardest part for me was twisting the mirror back on. The great news is IT WORKED! Mine had no discoloring or dirt but I wiped the antenna and parts with an alcohol wipe (for lenses). Very happy and thankful for this video.
I will be trying this asap on my 2011 E93. After watching this video I put my fob against the windshield on the rear view mirror area and touched the door handle. It locked and unlocked with each touch. I have a feeling following this video will solve my problem.
Advice from someone who just did this maintenance! The drain pan bolt closest to the center front of the car is a thru hole so the steel screw can become fused to the aluminium housing making it very difficult to remove. Make sure you apply lots of penetrating lubricant to the TOP side of the hole where the threads are days or hours before you do this job. I was not lucky and the bolt head snapped off, then when I was trying to remove the rest of the bolt the rest of it broke off so I had to drill it out. Thankfully its a thru hole so I was able to put a nut on the backside becuase the threads were destroyed trying to remove the bolt. If you 're going to do this maintenance just flush all the fluid (buy 6qts) , no sense only doing 3 qts if you've got it set up. To clarify to the video, the car needs to be as close to perfectly level as possible, front to back and side to side. You should be flushing the fluid while the car is running and reinstalling the drain bolt WHILE the car is running. if you shut the car off without the drain bolt in place a bunch of fluid drains out and you don't want that. I was nervous about crawling under a running car but that just what has to be done, stay safe. The drain bolt washer has an up-side and a down side, the slooth side without the ridge makes contant with the drain pan. The car shifts way better than before and the fluid that came out was dark black so it was worth it.
Hi I was watching this video, My horn goes too. I have not check the fuse yet and if the fuse is good I have to access like the way you show on this video. Mind is 2014 534xi M sport. Since my f32 just like your with an oil cooler and is there enough room to the back and take the horn out ?
You can’t really clean out the canister so once it fails (no longer allows air through freely) then it needs to be replaced. The dust filter can be cleaned off. Neither are part of the normal service schedule.
I bought an auc sensor off eBay for like $30 cause I didn’t see it on fcpeuro and I’m like if it doesn’t work oh well. It finally arrived today after a month maybe (china) the part was a bit different but connection was the same and my code is gone! Just two more codes to fix. I had 2aaf which I still do. I replaced the pressure switch thing but I still have the code sadly
videos like this are why I love youtube. My 17 AT had a puddle on the trunk cover after a storm today. I'll have to check it out this weekend and your video will be my reference. Thank you!
The same on my 16 AT, the trunk full of water :( . I have seen the hole that is behind the rear bumper was stuck, this hole drains the water....have you find something wrong of your AT?
I being struggling with VALVE FUEL TANK VENT, i did a bunch of things like smoke test it came out good,no leaks i change the EVAP part that goes in the engine area(2times) and i still cant figure out what’s causing that code.
Someone commented one time to unplug the purge valve and idle for 10 mins then reconnect, clear the code and drive it around for 10 miles. Not sure how that might help but worth a shot. Are you sure the limp mode is due to the vent valve? Never heard of it causing that.
Ok, so it’s something wrong with the entire system. Could be your gas cap. You said you tried smoke testing so you have the equipment. Try disconnecting the lines connected to the evap canister and smoke test them to see if there are any leaks.
Hi JR Thanks for making these MGC videos, as you already mentioned, these engine restraints were an original part fitted to our cars, however over the years they get removed and left off. As you said their sole purpose is to stop the very heavy engine/gearbox from sliding forward in the event of a sudden stop/accident. I also purchased mine from Simon at Colne Classics in the UK, one of our top specialists on MGCs.
