Great video! That's a bike you don't get tired of looking at. I always heard Richard Sachs' name as long as I've been into road cycling (around 2014) but only really started to learn about him and his bike building relatively recently and been following him on Instagram. I love his takes on bike building and workshop practices. He's ultra cool!
A dream bike for me, he manages to nail pretty much everything in way of aesthetics. I am sure it rides as you say, with that low bb it must be like it’s on rails. Enjoy, don’t ever sell it
Now that is a perfectly configured road bicycle. 1" steel head tube and a steel fork - anyone who has never experienced the ride quality of this is really missing out. The tubing profiles look perfect - not too oversized.
Wow! Nice to see bikes like this and your comments about how it rides hit the mark with me. I like the feel of being in the bike too. I am currently waiting for my custom frame from Chris Bishop. I've been told he is expecting to start on it in May. I've owned lots of bikes in the last 4 decades but I decided to move back to steel and the original design that got me started with my love of riding. You're right, that bike is a keeper.
Man you have good taste in bikes! How many do you currently have in your stable? I know you sell some to get others, just curious- sweet Sachs, but then again, all your bikes have been awesome….
@@anthonysbike You are most welcome! Did you find the R. Sachs or did it find you? Meaning, were you specifically looking for a frame from Richard Sachs? Also, I know most his frames are custom/bespoke - Does your fit true to size?
@@anthonysbike I got my bike! Second hand and its looking like i'll need to spend a bit on it to get it fitting right. Its the same colour and size as yours, also with the black carbon fork! The teach is too long and the stem is 100mm so I think i'll take it down to a 70 or even 60.. The cranks on it are 175 and wheels 700c which makes for some sketchy toe overlap. I think this frame usually comes with 170s so not sure why he had 175s on it. Ideally I think i'd put 165s on it and have a 650b wheelset... but do not have that $. Getting the reach sorted with a shorter stem will be my first step and will see if I get used to the toe overlap. Trying not to be deflated - i got a bit excited seeing it for sale on second hand market as its really slim pickings where I live. Hoping it will work out okay with some tweaks. Yours really is lovely

The canti yoke is too high. Lower it and you'll get more power. It looks like you're using the original cable stop in the front, admirable but newer beefier ones will reduce flex and increase power. For the front yoke , I guess you'll have to try to figure out a better spot for your like. Good braking power is definitely a higher priority than putting the light there. I'd just get a small front canti-rack and attach the light to that. If you were worried about weight (the rack) you wouldn't be riding with a brooks, right? Solid bike.
Can I know the mileage of the tires at the time the video was taken? I'm curious about the wear durability of Ultra Dynamico Mars. It may be awkward because it is a Korean translation.
