Nice skills dude - not everyone can ride that way.. imperative when a 'bike move' is in order.

Epic adventure Adam! I was very fortunate my wife and neighbors through a Welcome Home reception for me. It was the icing on my adventure. But in fairness I got home at 3pm not 1am. Glad you’re home safe!

That’s lovely. My wife was already up in New Hampshire. In fact, I left the following day at 8pm and drove to NH so I was not “home” for about 14 hours. Up in New Hampshire until Labor Day and enjoying time with family.

Considering going from NY to Sturgis next year... the amount of ground you covered is incredible!

Ha! Yeah, probably missed a lot of great roads. One guy told me he did a similar trip in 2.5 months and I said “well I have 4 weeks” and he said it’s impossible.

That windshield saved your gear from bug guts for sure!

It’s a fantastic touring windshield. IT does block the camera a bit too much but great comfort.

That’s a long haul, Adam. Somehow, you’ve made 1800 miles interesting and entertaining to watch. Especially, since much of it was through some of the most boring landscapes the US has to offer. As a midwesterner I’m bored stiff riding here - I ran out of gravel roads to explore in my area. Good run throughout the whole series! Not sure how you feel about it, but coming home is the most difficult part for me. The longer I ride, the more I want to continue riding. :) Question, if you have time and bandwidth to answer: I see your Insta360, but what do you have shoulder mounted? Also, your audio is great, too! (Which is what I struggle with the most).

I feel bad for that last video being so long. I’m glad you enjoyed it. It’s been a couple of weeks and I’m just now becoming okay with not getting up every day and riding.

What weather / nav app are you using (21:54 . . .) that shows both the routing and weather (esp storms). BTW .... outstanding trip video series!!!
@AdamChandler86
@AdamChandler86 2 месяца назад
Probably Weather OnTheWay or Carrot. Both are great. not free but neither tracks your location and sends it to a 3rd party, sells your data or has advertisements. I think one is $5 a year and one is $15 a year.

@@AdamChandler86 Thanks . I also found some positive reviews on ADV RIDER (including your review) for WOTW app. I am leaving in a few weeks for Glacier and Banff .... this will be a good tool to have for the ride - esp alt route options Thank you!!!

Not sure if you've done this (or done it recently), but I hear you reference apps I've never heard of regularly enough. I know I'd appreciate a video or something with a bit of an overview of what you use and why. Cheers!

Wow, that’s a really great idea and I think I can deliver something in the next week or two so standby and I will put something together. I’ll try to keep it under 10 minutes, but we’ll see.

Great backstory actually, I was the first beta tester of this application about five years ago because the developer found a video of mine where I was complaining about how difficult it is on long rides to know what the weather will be like 500 miles and 10 hours from this moment and so he built this app for people that do long road trips, especially motorcyclists so it’s a pretty cool application and I use it every every single trip

He just added a feature where you can actually upload GPX files and it will show you whether along the file accounting for dirt roads and trails

Does your mount have vibration dampener? I destroyed my camera on iphone 8 on my drz, now I got a V-Strom and a never phone, but don't want to do the same. P.s. Cruise control is a life saver! I wish I had one
@AdamChandler86
@AdamChandler86 2 месяца назад
It’s usually an issue limited to single cylinder motors that destroy phones. The GS is really low vibration and I’ve never destroyed a phone on the GS. On my single cylinder dirt bikes, I have destroyed everyone until I purchased the Hondo garage Buzzkill, which eliminates vibration.
@AdamChandler86
