Very good video. I agree with a lot about this topic but as always with Epiphone it depends on the model as much as the place of manufacture. I’ve had dozens of guitars over my 44 years of playing and have been primarily a Gibson and Epiphone guitar lover. My favourite guitars in my stable of electrics are a 2015 Epiphone ES339 P90 pro, made in China and a ‘99 Epiphone Sheraton II made in Korea (Samick). I swore that I would never own a Chinese made guitar but the 339 is as good as any Gibson. Having said that, my Sheraton after having the wiring, pots, capacitors replaced and adding treble bleed resistors is excellent sounding. I mean excellent! It still has the stock pickups. It always had the best playability but the electronics let it down. After the thin cheap wiring kept breaking, I rewired it with a Tone Pro’s kit. I think the cheaper models really suffer from bad pickups but the “tuxedo “ ones are quite good. They did save a lot of manufacturing costs on the rest of the electronics though.
The JJN Silencer is definitely a hair brighter. Oh well. Nothing rolling back the tone control can't fix. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Edit: after going back to the blind test, the silencer sounds warmer. Funny how things change when the visual aspect is removed.
A man of culture 🌭🤘 649 is a steal. I preordered mine and it was like 9-10 months before it shipped and they had all sold out long before they were available.
If you want to stay in that similar line, on Ebay right now, they have a She Devil. It's basically the same guitar, but only one female and red accents. And there was a Lady Luck, it's all red, but I dont' see it now. I have the XXX like you, but probably aren't going to keep it. It's flawless, I just have too many guitars.

There's also a Hellraiser version of this. Where the inlays are abalone, to match the binding. Great playing guitars! Schecter is some of the best in the game
I had a C-6 once, and it was OK. Had a few QC issues I thought I could live with, and didn't show up until after I bought it. My dealer was even an official dealer until a lot of them started coming back - and he dropped his affiliation with them. He even sent a few back to Schecter. So I'd say I had a lukewarm experience with the brand as a whole (But I'd choose something else over them any day, if that means anything)
Check out the Ibanez Gio Mikro, the Jackson Minion or the Squier Mini. All of those are great short scale electrics. They have baby Taylor and short scale Martin acoustics that I am aware or and those should be good! I think Yamaha also make a short scale acoustic as well.
It might be one thing if it were another Les Paul signature, but an SG Jr isn’t even available - so I’m a fan. I also have no idea who the guy is or his music

I had an EG prestige with a low pro edge 2 it was awesome. And 2 s series prestige with the zr trem...or what ever it was called. Also worked really well. And a cheaper rg with ...I think the 3.....it was horrible too
I saved and finally got a Japanese made Prestige RG652AHM. Ash body, beautiful birds eye maple fretboard... and an Original Edge tremolo. The Original Edge is a beast! I've heard bad things about that Edge III.
I have Ibanez RG 550 LTD (1996) which has Lo-Pro Edge..the guitar remains incredibly long i'tune - better than my original Floyd on EVH If you like IBANEZ guitars the Orig. Ibanez Edge or Lo-Pro Edge they are the way to go.

oh hey I have an RG320 with those same humbuckers and that bridge. It's a piece of shit, literally down to the neck angle, but it was the first guitar I ever bought myself so what did I know lol. It's been in it's case for years since it's puked out it's bridge, twice. Sucks cause especially for it's pricerange it does sound killer and it takes drop tuning really well. Mine stayed in tune pretty well but man oh man that piece of shit baseplate literally makes the trem's life expectancy like 5 seconds. And yeah I repaired that screw with wood glue and toothpics and re-drilling the hole..... But it doesn't want to hold the claw in.

I bought one second hand as a project guitar for $80 CAN and it was a mess. It had no electronics, no machine heads, just had the neck, body, locking nut and the bridge (no springs and claw). So I coverted it into a single humbucker, fixed bridge guitar (which was a major pain to patch the pickup, bridge and trem routes) and it plays like a dream now HOWEVER I cant compare the before and after simply because as I previously said it was a mess but at least this video gave me an idea of what the before could have been and I think I made the right choice with the conversion
The problem with cheap tremolos, most of the time (assuming the nut is fine, and the spring and claw issues are resolved), is usually the blade edges where the tremolo pivots or the posts themselves. Since they are generally made of soft materials, they tend to get "dented." So, 90% of the time, you can fix it by filing the blades edges (or/and replacing the posts).
Absolutely. The thing is, I took the bridge and stuff off when I was changing the strings and attempting to set it up initially and it all looked fine. So I'm not sure what the issue is, honestly
So you got a used guitar with a worn trem that doesn't function as intended anymore. Shocker.... But anything goes if it helps you make a vid out of it I suppose...
Well, posts from years ago suggest that the trem was trash anyway, so. In this case, the knife edges and posts are in pretty good shape, despite the wear on the rest of the guitar. I'll make sure to break that down next time I decide to do anything for content. 👍
Sharpen the knife edges of the trem, consider getting new posts. People always complain about knife edge trems ("Bought this used on ebay, won't stay in tune). I wonder why? The knife edges wear until they're dull and the posts wear as well. Guess what the vast majority of people will do with a floating trem when they grab it off the rack at GC? Do their best Dimebag impression. Have potentially hundreds of occurrences of this and the knife edges are so dull there is no ability for the bridge to return to zero and be in tune. How do I know? I had this happen when I bought a brand new Suhr off the rack. The fix was new posts and sharpened knife edges.
