Today, we compare a $20 pack of acoustic guitar strings from Martin & Co called Luxe by Martin to a more affordable pack by Ernie Ball, which is a very common pack most people would use! We'll be testing the sound quality, durability, and overall performance of both brands. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned guitarist, this video will help you decide which strings are worth your money. So grab your guitar and join us for this string showdown! #GuitarStrings #MartinAndCo #ErnieBall

Ooh! I usually use D'addario XS strings on my acoustics but I might give these a try they sounded lovely!

I play D'addario electric strings but I don't know if I have ever played their acoustics. The Martin ones are definitely amazing!

The Ernie Balls sound good. But the Martins seem to have fuller harmonics without losing clarity. I wonder how long they last... A very impressive test, thank you. Unfortunately over here in Italy they cost €50, so although my acoustic is begging for new strings at the moment, I'm going to have to pass...

That's what I'm testing now is how long they last. Thanks for checking out the video! ⚡️🦩

black smudges are more likely to come from strings that aren't coated. I will 100% buy coated strings over non-coated. Elixir is my go to brand.

Interesting. If these are coated (not seen the black smudges yet) they don't feel like it.

@@Electric.Flamingo They last super long before you have smudges on your fingertips. I played mine for a few months now and now after playing all day in the summer heat (we had 28 degree celcsius today) i had black smudges. So i can say now, that these last as long as elixirs and martin lifespan 2.0´s and they perform well.

@dominikprauseguitar I have had them on here for a bit and they are still going strong, so I can attest to that as well. Very impressed!

Is 20USD expensive in the USA? Dont think i have ever seen packs of strings for acustic cost less than 15-20 usd in the stores where i live, and then its the lesser known brands.

It's "expensive" when you normally use packs that are $5 - $7, if that makes sense.

@@Electric.Flamingo makes a lot of sense, i just had a look at the cheapest price i could find and i stand corrected. It was 12$ converted to usd for nylon strings. I like this video, it will make me think an extra time before just buying the closest/ceapest one next time.

Strings make such a huge difference on acoustic guitars. It's completely disturbing lol.
