Labyrinth of Evil is one of the best Star Wars novels there is. At the beginning you’re all acting like it’s some “sub-par” thing and that’s a joke. Along with the rest of the trilogy, it’s better than any NJO novel by far. (Just had to throw that in there for you all lol). But James luceno is probably thee best Star Wars writer solely behind Lucas himself. This novel and Dark Lord, Plagueis, Unifying Force, the list goes on. He’s phenomenal. Oh, and STOP BITCHING about “bad writing” from Lucas and the prequels. HE wrote the originals too, where’s all the bitching about the bad dialogue there? The blatant whining of Luke throughout the entire film in A New Hope. You’d never do that shit. Never. Revenge of the Sith was By far the greatest Star Wars film made. Easily. I cannot stand listening to cry babies bitching about the prequels. This large scale “prequel hate” was quite literally NEVER real. Ever. It is loudmouthed fools that have a platform screaming and being louder than everyone else. That’s all it ever was. If you ACTUALLY LOOK at the ACTUAL reviews when each one of them came out-even from the critics-we’re all directly along the lines of “the pinnacle of filmmaking, Lucas is a genius”.. And that was from Phantom Menace, let alone Revenge of the Sith. YES Attack of the Clones could have been better; but Revenge of the Sith was as close to a perfect Star Wars film as you can get…. Like I thought this was SUPPOSED to be a review of Labyrinth of Evil, not listening to Antoine Bandele and Reti bitch about the prequels. That literally makes people just want to stop watching altogether. OVER half the fanbase will all say ROTS is by far the best Star Wars film, and Star Wars project/media in general. The majority of the entire fandom will say that clear as day. We don’t wana listen to bitching about how you didn’t like the prequels because you somehow think you could be written them better. Like shut up kid. Evan and Matt are the only ones I can ever actually take serious. Well Connor too when he isn’t bitching about Lucas or some nonsense as well. Lucas MADE it. He IS Star Wars. You like what YOU think Star Wars should be. Your headcanon. You don’t like what Star Wars is and has always been. Clear as day.
I’ve watched this vid multiple times now (just cause I love this discussion) but it’s clear who is right on this matchup! The reason Bane wins is because in simple terms he was already at a lvl to contend with Hoth in PoD and he only improves by the time of DoE. But if we’re being honest Evan shouldn’t have made a vid with Hoth because there isn’t enough to him (feat wise) for versus matchup!
Awesome!!! I'm curious to know if you guys have seen Andor? I know Disney Star Wars has been far from great quality wise but I truly feel that Andor is one of the best things to come out from Star Wars in general. The writing, directing and especially acting was all phenomenal. A far cry from the usual disney plus content. I would be very interested if the 3 of you cover it.
and you people are wrong in saying that the creator of star wars doesn´t understand star wars you are the one who doesn´t understand and when george said r2 is the main protagonist he isn´t wrong george allways said the movies are being told from the eyes of the droids so ou shouldn´t accuse george of being a liar and not knowing what is talking about and george haters are fake fans
you toxic prequel haters and george haters don´t get that what the author wrote in the novel that wasn´t in the movie came from george also people like you that take plinkett as reliable are not intelliegent and i listen to your prequel reviews and i can tell that you are to dumb to understand the movies and you people don´t understand that the politics were necessary in the prequels the movies is about the fall of a democracy i don´t get how you people complain about politics in the prequels but you are fine with politics in the thrawn trilogy
These episodes are basically 40 minutes of decent set up for 8 minutes of genius. The Riot, the gondola battle, Mai and Ty Lee's betrayal, the Warden willing to die a horrible death to keep his prison secure. It's all brilliant
I love the commentary between you guys. I'm sure you all have busy lives but I'd honestly listen to a podcast series of you all discussing various forms of media. You guys have always had such insightful takes, especially during your Star Wars days.
Boiling rock is a really solid episode. The betrayal of Azula's team, Zuko standing his ground against Azula, the riot is funny, and the bond of Zuko and Sokka. Thank you so much for your work on this series!
I remember him saying he likes Dune a lot. However, from what I've seen of him, Jen can sometimes be a bit particular with his tastes and the film does change some things from the book, so I wouldn't be surprised if he disliked it for any of those potential reasons. It's just a guess, could be completely wrong here.
Man... it's kind of disheartening to see that this was the last video on this channel to discuss anything related to Star Wars, which leads me to believe that the current state of the franchise has killed any interest in discussing Star Wars at all. Such a shame. I loved this channel's insights on the EU.
The first of Zuko's life changing field trips. great episode that tells so much in so little time. Also, unsure if glue bending is possible. Glue is mostly made of proteins which is not bendable. Unless Sun Warrior Glue is mostly water.
Callan - I knew someone would comment this. I realised my stupidity immediately after the recording, haha. But I did say dragonS, so I stand by it as technically correct. The best kind of correct.
@@silcoxjakob not in the show, but we can make some educated guesses. Ran and Shaw (I think that’s the right spelling) could be male and female and are working on repopulating the dragons
Combusionbending, one of the coolest forms of bending (up there with blood and lava), beaten by a boomerang. Another moment where Sokka is the MVP. Even more so than Aang. Another question, how did Air Nomands build this place? Also, Zukko calling on his uncle's wisdom and failing on it is still entertaining.
As a kid, I had the first three episodes as comic books, they used the screenshots from them as panels. It wasn't really good, but they had the world atlas at the end of them. Using those and the website on Nickolodeon, I would always track their adventures across the globe as each new season aired. It was great.
I honestly prefer this mid-season finale over the Sozins Comet stuff. It's surprisingly tactical and the stakes feel so high with how many established characters are involved. The final battle has ships ready to be knocked down like bowlings pins and it shares the spotlight with three other conflicts, two far more dramatic. (Azula vs Zuko, Aang vs Ozai) Appa getting battlearmor was also one of the sickest things ever at the time I first watched it. Whenever Antoine had Azula lose or not decisively win a lot of people disagreed and she is held in extremely high regard by many people debating Avatar fights. IMO a lot of that comes from her showing here, with Toph, Aang and Sokka not catching her without powers. Along with Azula blocking everyones attacks in The Chase people have really come to handwave her worse showings like getting kicked away by Iroh, struggling against Katara in Season 2, Sokka and Zuko fending her off on the Boiling Rock gondola or Aang blasting her in The Drill. You have people saying she would destroy Kuvira, any Red Lotus member or that she is tiers above Zuko when she is not mentally ill. The airbending thing is a classic moment of superspeed being too broken in setting where it is not a stock power. People think of strength and speed as being comparable, but even someone who is slightly faster (like 30%) can beat someone dozens or even infinite times stronger as long as they can damage them. Aside from characters like the Flash infamously, Deku from MHA is another good example imo. Since speed is not a stock power even in base he should not necessarily be slower than anyone else, but even with several versions of One For All power-ups he is still moving relative to many of his non-speedy classmates at many points.
