Hey Guys ! On this channel I share my everyday experiences and travels , as well as opinions and how to videos ! Cheers, Mike Instagram : Mike Alarie Tiktok @mikealarie
Looking to get into a 20-22 trd pro myself, MT as well. And it’s most likely going to be white also. Aside from the surface rust stains, have you noticed any paint peeling at all? Can you elaborate more on the manual? All of my vehicles have been manual & this won’t be an exception.
My 2017 ltzs engine loses power and cuts off on me after installing my cold air intake, I’m assuming after some digging that the sensors can’t read or aren’t programmed to read that much air flow so it shuts the engine off
I install an S&B CAI and did the same thing on me i had to desconnect battery every 100 miles to reset computer... i think u have to tube ur pcm, every truck reacts diffrent i guess
@@DJjosher nothing was wrong with it, I was just hoping to get a better sound, and possibly some performance gains . However, once I took apart, the OEM intake , I was able to tell that it is actually a pretty good set up right from the factory. What I mean by this is that it is pulling cold air directly from the wheel well instead of the warm air in the engine bay .
I purposefully bought my 23 TRD Off Road, double cab. It came with free oil changes, an 8 year bumper to bumper warranty, a Trifold tonneau cover, running boards. We had been saving money for 10 years to pay cash for my Tacoma. I’ll drive it until I die. The narrator does nothing but bitch about his Tacoma. So my question is, why did he buy it if all that he does is bitch
Check out Black Creek rodeo as well! I believe they are in the Ottawa area this weekend! Lots of different events in their show! 🍻 I’ve posted a few videos if you want to check them out !
Unfortunately, that’s a different engine set up than I had so I am not completely sure on that, I’d suggest looking further into this - good luck let us know what you find out to help others, cheers!
I always had this issue when it was cold out. I had one on 2 different 4runners and a Tundra TRD Pro. The quick and simple fix is disconnect the negative cable for about 15 seconds and put it back on. It seemed to happen especially when accelerating hard if the motor was not warmed up.
@@mikealarie007 I honestly don’t remember the name but when it gets dirty I can either blow it off or wash it with water and let it dry completely and reinstall it
I have heard great things about that tune! I would’ve certainly done it had I kept the truck, and if I get another one down the road, I will certainly look into this! Cheers!
Hope the chevy works out for you. I have 2 co workers that have had ongoing trans and display issues. One of the opened a lemon case. I have the same truck and it works out for me great. But like you mention in depends on what the needs of the owner are. The only issue I have with my manual trans. Is my clutch pedal is to high. I will be adjusting it down to the level of the brake pedal hopefully and that should fix my issue with that.
Sounds like you need a bigger truck for what you use it for. Its definitely still a light truck, even though they look bigger than generations of the past. A few things you mentioned are nitpicks of preference but a few others are disappointing for Toyota, as you say. I actually live in my 18 Tacoma. I'm pretty minimalist though and use it to get me to deep hiking trails in Idaho or run out to the high desert to camp and explore, so it works for me. Sorry to hear you've had less than stellar experience with yours. Hopefully the Chevy isn't a pile of crap for ya.
I would buy another one if I got more into aggressive trail riding, but for what I do, my trail boss has a rear locker , 2 inch lift and many options that my Tacoma just didn’t have. I did really like the six speed manual transmission, although I found the Toyota to be surprisingly underpowered. I wouldn’t say my experiences were all negative, but I just wanted to point out a few things to help buyers make an informed purchase , Safe travels in your truck brother, cheers!
Unfortunately, when I got divorced, all of our assets were sold off . I really liked this truck., I’d get another one for sure, the Maverick is just nothing like a solid V8 on 22s
I had the engine come on mine, I told my mechanic about. He checked it out , took the air sensor out n cleaned it with just blowing air. Not a problem since then, he told me I sprayed to much oil. So every now n then I take the filter out n blow it out. I also put a dust cover on the filter to keep dust n water away, works like a charm.
I sad brother. I feel your pain. Hope you didn't undersell it. Because this is a rare machine. I'm dreaming myself is a 2010 Adrenalin with V8 and navigation package. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6MoiSi-xrFw.htmlsi=DKea232x-s0TyPtJ
The difference I learned through the install was that the OEM set up is pulling cold air from the outside, whereas the K&N is pulling hot air from the engine bay. Besides looking better and sounding better , the performance benefits are debateable…
the intake comes with a heat shield for that very reason, the intake still pulls air from the hole of the stock intake, you can literally hear it. @@mikealarie007
Private , however I believe there is Crown land available for hunting in the region, I just try to stick to land belonging to friends in the group . Do you know of any crownland in the area?
For the amount of money they want for these, why would you spent all that money for basically same think your came with? Dosent make sense at all! You want some better throttle response get a tune or just by AFE Pro dry s filter. At least this filter wont mess with you mass air flow sensor, no oil. Doesn't give you any power gains but throttle response is a bit better.
I think a tune is always a good idea, however, I don’t think that just by changing the air filter it should be mandatory…. I ended up removing it and going back to OEM
Did you know if you have broken wheel studs, it's a $500 job instead of $2 ?! Coz shop will only do it the proper way, wheel bearings $500 ?! Good on you Honda engineer.
Also, make sure that you clean out all the ashes and dust underneath the fire bowl area. Another area to cover is by opening the side panels you will see that there may be spiderwebs etc. on your blower motor and components .
I might be able to help you with this, if your unit is the same as mine. The cause for it shutting off could be that the burn pot has clogged air passage holes.. Ash will end up building up inside these holes, preventing the flow of air . Once cooled down, remove the pot and use a vacuum or screwdriver to clean out the holes to have good airflow.. the stove does not re light itself. You’ll have to turn the selector back to number five setting and press ignite.. good luck. Let me know if this worked.
After opening multiple units like this, I went through the proper procedures. I just think that it was probably some oil that got on the sensor., but after learning the design of the OEM version, I decided to go back to OEM and have the cold air come directly from the wheel well
