We are from Central Coast NSW, Australia, with an enduring love for all things Italian. Our dream to buy a house began in 2017. Postponing our 2020 trip to Italy, due to travel restrictions, pushed us to discover alternative ways to buy a home. Through extensive research, we came across an inspiring RU-vid channel that solved our challenge. Now, we proudly own a home in Italy-not just a home, but an asset generating income while we're away.

Yes James we visited there, in fact it was one of the first places where our property finder looked at a property for us. Close to the east coast and beautiful region. 😍😀
Yes the architecture in the Salento is amazing. There are over 90 small towns to choose from and each have this beautiful baroque style in the historic centres. The added plus its close proximity to the coast line and the roads are nice and flat for driving and bicycle riding. Thank you for watching. 🙂💛👋

My wife and i have no kids. I see no reason to buy. We plan to rent long term. I need to start using my vacation as a scouting trip to find the right retirement spot. Northern parts

This is a beautiful collection of beaches. We are in Salento right now, staying Maglie. We managed to swim at Tricase Porto, Novaglie, S Maria al Bagno, Pescaluse, Lapillo and Otranto. It's our 3rd time to this gorgepus region and you know the effort to take a long flight from Australia (Melb is even longer) but so worthwhile. Keep going on creating informative videos. Focaccia Bread looks Delicious 😊I’ll share the video with my adult kids!It was always a celebratory time when their Dad cooked Bread every week ,The kids created their own Pepperoni Pizzas on those nights with home grown tomatoes capsicum and Oregano !It was cooked in the wood fired oven back in the day!cheers from 🇦🇺

Most beaches have a free section even when there are Lidos. We visited many beaches that had no Lidos so they were free, just a personal reference. You can pay anywhere from 10-25euro for a sun lounge and umbrella depending on the month you visit and which beach you go to. 🏖🌞🙂
Yes that's correct, they cannot buy if they don't have Italian citizenship as the reciprocal agreement changed last year. The option at the moment is to rent.
@@casamiasalentina5818 how sad, what a shame, it is so hard to get citizenship, my son got it years ago but my daughter had so much trouble and spent so much money, everything had to be precise, Like the would not accept Joseph as the English version of Giuseppe etc.,
@joycef2499 I hear you . I had the same problem with my father's name, his marriage certificate said Franco but his birth certificate was Francesco. Time consuming and costly with translations and Apostilles, appointments etc ❤😊

Thanks Jeff for the feedback. I'm guessing it depends in which state you live in like here. Australia's median price range depending which state you live is between $600,000 and $900,000. Our children are priced out of the housing market here. Absolutely crazy yes.

We are in the research stage and plan on moving next year. My husband was born there and will reacquire his Italian citizenship back in order to purchase property and become permanent residents. We are from the west coast of Canada and will need to fly our Bernese Mountain Dog with us, also a huge endeavour. Placing her in the hold of an aircraft is out of the question, so if anyone has experience with private jet charters, please let us know. We are going to Puglia this November on a brief scouting expedition and hope to fall in love with this area.

Congratulations on applying to reacquire the Citizenship. It's tedious and takes time but well worth it. Which region is your husband from? There is a website called "petrelocation" perhaps contact someone there. I am sure there have others in the same situation as yourself. I do hope they can help you. Let me know how you go. I know there are some flights now that allow pets on board but there is a size limit and not all airlines accommodate this yet. Where will you be visiting in Puglia? Are you going south to Salento at all or staying in the north of Puglia?
@@casamiasalentina5818 My husband was born in Catanzaro, Calabria - we will take a drive there once we are in Puglia. Thx for the petrelocation lead, however the dog is in the hold, they do assist with planning, booking flights, immunization requirements etc. And a 115lb Berner is too large to be in the cabin, and I won't 'cheat' to make her a 'therapy dog' as some do. We will rent a car and do a roadtrip and hope to cram in both, north and south, and west!
@@carolcastagna5485 I will ask around and see if anyone else has transported a larger breed and how they did it without placing in the hold of the plane. Catanzaro is a beautiful hilltop town and you can definitely drive there to and from Puglia to Catanzaro.
