I find videos like this frustrating because they often say a lot without actually saying much of substance. You definitely have a future in politics! This feels like useless drivel, heavily based on personal opinion without any real investigation. Personally, I believe Israel has a right to exist, and the Palestinians should be removed from the West Bank and Gaza. However, your position comes across more as "this is just how I feel, without actually researching what anyone with these views has to say." Do better and stop trying to play it so safe. Blanket statements of entire people aren't becoming.

Hi Joe, Great that you explain the slave morality in this context. Aside from the (dialectic) rejection of the master sentiments that you mention, I think there is some mirroring going on. A typical master morality is: the slaves are lazy and they steal. A typical slave morality: the masters let us do all the work (ergo they are lazy) and take the fruits of our labor (ergo they steal). 5:40 Meaning that you do not see a difference between a massacre in Gaza and a different Holocaust, and if a person comes and tells you that your house belongs to his grandfather and expels you from your house, that is his right. Zionism is the establishment of a Jewish majority state in someone elses homeland, and israels 'right of self defense' is its means to secure the demographic 'purity' within the green line by denying the Palestinians their right of return. As Jabotinsky put it himself, Zionism is the transformation of Palestine into 'Israel'. This 'transformation process' (i.e settler colonialism) is still an ongoing process that didnt end 76 years ago
@simhei95
@simhei95 10 дней назад

Israel is different from other nation states. Take Russia for example, the Slavic Russians have lived in that region for 1,500 years and have held a continuous presence there since. Israel was established as a colonial state 75 years ago and are still currently in the process of completely imposing their domination over the Palestinians. Israel is the current stage of the United States, Canada and Australia in the mid-1800s. Opposing the existence of Israel is like opposing the existence of Apartheid South Africa. It's not about getting rid of Jews or white people, it's about bringing to an end the system imposed by the dominant colonial group.

Israel is in no way different from any nation state i believe. People like to call it an ethno-supremacist state but that is because they separate the following 3 pillars of Jewish identity Nationalistic/Religious/Ethnic and then they see the need of Jews to form a Jewish majority state as just the latter. In reality, wanting a Jewish majority state is no different than the French wanting a French majority state. And it's kind of dishonest to equate Israel with a colonial group since the Jews have always had a presence in the land, even if the Arabs have made efforts to prevent them from being a majority. On top of that, they are actually indigenous to the land so calling them colonizers would be like calling the native Americans colonizers if they decide to take over the US. And lastly, when the Jews got there, they actually pleaded with the Arabs to help them build a state together because, quite literally, there was no state there. It was just the British mandate and it was up to the people in that land to ensure that a working government is present when the mandate expires, unfortunately for the Arabs, they made no such effort and they refused to participate in the effort of the Jews and British to establish a working government. If anything you could say that the colonizers were the British. The Jews were just legal immigrants to the region, immigrants with a refugee status. Can you imagine if Europe decided that the refugee status immigrants of Syria were colonizers? And they are also spewing nonsense like establishing a caliphate in Europe and imposing Sharia law in Germany/France/UK etc. Can you imagine if we all just decided to do what the Arabs decided in 1920? The only difference is, Europe actually could forcibly genocide each and every one of those refugees, while the Arabs failed. Not for lack of trying mind you, after all, from 1920 to 1939, the Jews suffered 13 massacres at the hands of Arabs. And even then, the first time Jewish initiated violence was by the Irgun, an extremely small fringe group, basically terrorists, who did not represent the majority of Zionists.
@kingcobra8840
@kingcobra8840 10 дней назад
@@BobcatSmokey if you say Jews are indigenous to Palestine, then with that same logic Hungarians are native to central Asia and Anatolian Turks are native to Mongolia. The Zionist settlers weren't begging the Palestinians to establish a state alongside theirs, they were under the impression that the British were going to give them all of Palestine and Transjordan. Yes, there were Arab massacres of Jews in the British mandate, but there were Jewish massacres against Arabs in the mandate aswell.
@BobcatSmokey
@BobcatSmokey 10 дней назад
@@kingcobra8840 Yes, the British really botched it didn't they :)) I'm saying that seriously. They made promises they eventually realized they could not deliver. They promised that the entire Mandate region which did include Transjordan as well, would be used to create a home for the Jews, but an integral part of that promise was that they would not impede upon the rights and freedoms of the local Arabs, their vision was that of a democratic state that would include the Jewish population. And that promise was kept by the British at every turn when they made constant efforts to appease the Arabs by curtailing Jewish immigration, after it became obvious that the Arabs were violently opposing any Jewish presence at all. It was a culture clash with the British and the Jews being believers in the democratic process and the Arabs believing in totalitarianism.

@BobcatSmokey
@BobcatSmokey 10 дней назад
But the land of Palestine was largely uninhabited when they started migrating there from Russia and it was still mostly a barren desert/swamp by the time of the mandate period. The population density was 10 / square Km. The land was also in economic ruin with an unemployment rate of 67% which is disastrous and the only actual population centers were Jaffa Haifa and Jerusalem which were also the only trade centers in the region. There was also no overarching governing structure once the Ottoman empire was dissolved, during the empire the area was split into 3 different Sanjaks, Acre/Nablus/Jerusalem. And on top of that, Turkey ceded control of the area to the British legally when they signed the Treaty of Lausanne. And finally, the Jews were all just legal immigrants, the vast majority of which were refugees fleeing from rampant violent antisemitism in Europe. And when they got there all they did was buy land and cultivate it, establish the first electric company and generally build the land up, which also caused large waves of Arab migration to the land as well from the neighboring countries but nobody is calling the Arab immigrants colonizers and nobody is calling the Arabs ethno-supremacists for wanting to ensure that the only governing race in Palestine were Arabs. And on top of all those factors, the Jews were conducting themselves peacefully and pleaded with the Arabs to help them build a state together, the last time such a plea was made was in 1948 with the declaration of independence. And during the 1947 civil war, 130,000 Arabs were allowed to remain because they denounced the violence of their peers and signed non-aggression pacts..

“‘Zionism’ against which antizionism defines its ideology” is “something conjured by the anti-Jewish imagination.” The antizionist conceives Zionism as “colonialism, apartheid, racism, the surveillance state, as being like Nazism, and as everything else that good people oppose”-in other words, as a phenomenon that is “profoundly different” from the Zionism embraced by Jews. Just like antisemites do battle against a fantasy of “the Jews” that exists in their own heads, the new antizionists battle a “Zionism” that exists nowhere on earth, and is instead conjured up by their own fevered imaginations. Dropping the hyphen may not seem like the radical step this moment calls for, but just like changing the spelling of anti-Semitism to antisemitism, it has important conceptual implications, and helps us view the phenomenon from new angles. - Izabella Tabarovsky. This event accelerated the emigration of Jews from Libya. Morocco 1948 Morocco Pogrom: In the wake of the establishment of the State of Israel, Jews in Morocco faced violent attacks. The pogrom resulted in deaths, injuries, and significant property damage, prompting many Jews to leave the country. Additional Historical Context Jewish Exodus from Arab Countries: The cumulative effect of these pogroms and ongoing persecution led to a mass exodus of Jews from Arab and Muslim countries in the mid-20th century. This exodus significantly reshaped the demographics of the Jewish diaspora. Persecution of Jews in Muslim Lands: The history of Jewish persecution in Muslim-majority countries includes not only these violent pogroms but also systemic discrimination, legal restrictions, and social marginalization. as someone who's an israeli , I don't see much difference between anti zionism and antisemetism , even if often it's jews themselves (weather ultra orthodox extremists , or secular "progressive" jews ,promoting it , it's still antisemetic in my view) now that being said it's not antisemetic to have criticism of israeli society or the israeli government , belive me most israelis from left right and center do all the time but my issue is when the criticism is only around the conflcit and it's unfair criticism that only occur after a terrorist attack against israel is launched and israel has to defend itself or when a war breakout and it doesn't recognize the faults of israel's enemy (usually the palastinians ) or that it's used as an excuse for justifying antisemetism . or that it compares the israeli government to hamas or the idf to the palastinians calling idf soldiers terrorsits or only talk about settelers violence without mentioning that it typically happens as a response for palastinians violence and terror attacks. (even if they have problems , it's nowhere neratly close to hamas ) I also find it odd why there are more crticisims of israel is usually only around the conflict and only blaiming israel for example many israelis are critical of the economy or other social issues which many outside of israel not even talking about . and of course when countries such as iran , iraq , syria , china or putin's russia are saying anything negative about israel I'm not only find it hypocrticial I also find it extremly ironic that any of theses countries\leaders are blaming israel of anything when theit own countries or regimes are violating human rights on an daily basis . that being said I think that there are deffenitly legitimate criticism even though sometimes I might not agree with some of them . but it's also depending who they are coming from and what their intentions are I can accept a criticism about the governement , the Idf and the people of israel when it's fair and not delegitimizing or dehumanazing . I also don't think that rejecting any criticism is healthy for any country or group but the question is if this criticism is about legitimate issues or not

The local Arabs were ripped off and if you open any news almanac from the 1930’s you’ll read about how the locals were warning about the danger of Zionism in the region. Sure it’s too late now and if you’re anti Zionism it now means you’re calling for a genocide but it doesn’t mean that Israel has any moral superiority or that Zionism was a good idea or something that had to be done by right. @@alexchertin3shit idk. Ottoman Empire dominating the region? More cultural affinities with the dominating empire? Are you that stupid to think that every people on earth that ever slightly wanted their independance just got it by asking? 😂

@@alexchertin3 Are you asking why the Palestinian independence movement didn't start earlier? Most of these movements started in the periods of WW1 and WW2 when the colonial empires were both financially and morally bankrupt in the eyes of their subjects. Are you upset that Gandhi didn't free India when he was a baby in diapers?
