Im really enjoying your content and builds! My goal is to purchase and build a van in the next year or two and would love to come check out some of your options. Keep up the great work!
Amazing work Brendan ! The transit is the platform im choosing for my next van and you’re quickly climbing my short list of builders. That shower system is genius and one of the best I’ve seen. Love how easily the bed folds up out of the way too. A comfy bench seat in place of the captains chair would seal the deal for me. How many watts can you push to the ecoflow power station from the alternator?
Thanks! Currently the EcoFlow Power Kit can take 70amps from the alternator. 900ish watts. Future upgrades to the Kit will allow more input, but unknown time frame for that.
Excellent power system, industry leading company. Hate when builders throw a 2,000w inverter and say it’ll be fine if you only run one large item at a time.
Another beautiful build. Is there an option for a larger water tank? Some videos say that water is the limiting factor in being able to say off the grid for longer.
I’ve been watching your videos for a while, and this one really jumps out of me. The rotating captain seat and the extra color are absolutely amazing. Keep up the nice work and hopefully we’ll be chatting with you in the not too distant future.
I’ve tried tirelessly to get a price from this company with no luck. I think when you have to ask, it’s usually WAY over-priced. Too many other options out there with better quality and a more reasonable price tag. Plus, California van builders will be more expensive than an Alabama van builder as they have to adjust their prices to cover their cost of living. IMHO
@@dave102429. Their prices for finished vans are usually around 160k. For buying other companies components and installing them. They make nothing themselves. Cant have a much better business than that.
Yes. We really like the Trail too, and are building one for a demo van, but the standard AWD Transit with aftermarket suspension, wheels, and tires is the way to go in our opinion.
I"m in search of a builder who designs in this exact style, but for a Sprinter 170 -utilitarian, lightweight, simple, aluminum interior and EcoFlow powered. Does anyone know of a Colorado or Utah based builder who has similar design/material/supplier ethos? Any referrals appreciated, i spent a couple hours talking to FLV, Lost Highway, Owl and don't have many leads. thanks all.
@@gonemobilevans I called three weeks ago, left a VM asking to discuss a build. No call back. Called a week later, talked to Branden who was rushed and gave me instructions to fill out the online form and provide details about my desired build, which I did. That was weeks ago. Zero response. Cool builds, but I can't get the time of day when I'm trying to spend $200K.
Trails cannot be sold at the moment while Ford figures out what to do with the percentage of Trail vans that have the front tires rub. Until then, we think the standard AWD Transit is the way to go. Suspension, wheels and tires aftermarket.
Flatline only makes that one size box. There are other vendors that make different size boxes: Aluminess, Avatar Off Road, Owl, Backwoods Adventure Mods, etc.
Another great build. Can you tell us more about when you would need to go with the stage 4 kit? And is this van a 250 or 350? Can you share how much it weighs as is with a full water tank and gas? Would be awesome to see your gray tank sometime with the electric valve. Where do you get your tanks from? I love that shore power inlet. tucked nice out of the way and unseen.
You should've added upload/download speeds as part of your evaluation. Great video though, and I'm now leaning toward the mini because of the power draw vs. the standard.
Mini all the way.. its just more convenient, using a star mount magnetic mount i can slap it on the vans roof, drive to camp, unload the atv, slap it on the rack, plug it into a goal zero AC 100 and off i go.. amazing 👏
I just joined the Mini club September 10 and have used it both with clear, no obstruction skies to half covered with Pine trees. It works great and I was getting download speeds of over 160mbps under unobstructed skies which is plenty for our typical use. The thing that really amazed us was how well it did with obstructions. A friend wanted me to set it up at his campsite. There was a large Pine Tree blocking quite a bit of the sky directly to the north. Powered it up and whereas it did take about 8 to 10 minutes for it to finally connect, once connected the speeds were good enough for him to do a Zoom meeting. For my purposes, I'm leaving it unmounted and use an old Laptop bag for the dish and cable. I did find the 50' supplied OEM cable is too thin a gauge (20awg) to run it directly off a 12v power supply. I purchased a 12v to 24v 5amp upconverter and that solved the problem. There are more than a few "how to" vids here on youtube.
that is for the roam. the reg one is still 150 a mo. I think the prices need to come down 25- or so and roam should be same price as standard... the satellites are doing nothing different
Are you looking for a stock empty Transit Trail, or a completed Adventure Van? The Trail isn't able to be sold at the moment because of a recall affecting a % of some of the Trails.
