Hey there! My name is Danny, and in case you hadn't noticed, I like to draw.
Ink and watercolor are my favorite media to work with, and I feel like they go great with sketching on location. On this channel, I hope to share some of my sketches and talk a bit about my creative journey. I believe we all have the potential to express ourselves through art, and I want to encourage you to do so too!
Those are absolutely stunning! Would love to see a video of you explaining your process: how you get started etc… and what are your go to supplies (if you have time for it of course!)
Hi Danny I’ve just discovered your channel and want to tell you how much I admire your style. I’ve been struggling to make the foliage in my own sketches convincing, or something I’m happy with, and am going to try again in somewhat your style. Everything looks so lovely that you produce. I’m not sure if you’ve given up making these videos now, as this latest one is one year ago, and if so, I’m sorry for that, having just found you, but wish you all the best in whatever you are creating now, and are having the greatest fun. Take care, sue.
Really lovely sketchbook tour, I especially liked the Malta sketches. My wife is half-Maltese and we're fortunate to have family there so we return every few years. I've only recently started to play with urban sketching so I look forward to my next visit :) Really love your use of foreground elements to carve out some negative space as a framing device, it's really effective
I would love more tutorials and also knowing what supplies you use (I've just started my own watercolor journey). I love your style and I love the way you compose your sketches, i think its absolutely beautiful.
Wow these are amazing! I was in southern Spain earlier this year and you really captured the feeling of the area in your paintings! I know this is an old video but thanks for sharing, very inspiring for my own art :)
Is it possible to cut the on going background music Danny. I've only found your channel however having listened to 3 minutes the music gets irritating. Maybe I'm the only one who finds it a problem. Sorry if I am.
Hello Danny! Love your artwork and you explain your process so well. Your voice is very soothing as well. Thanks for sharing your process. Would love to have more instructional videos on your process from start to finish. I checked your website thinking about taking a course with you but it wasn’t in English. Do you have a way that I can translate it? Thank you.
Love how we're able to dive deeper into your process to achieve dreamy tones throughout the foliages.. would love to see more tutorials or walkthrough processes video..kudos!
I recommend drawing some of the old buildings in Berlin Rixdorf (the Bohemian Village, or Rixdorf, was a small community of Protestant refugees from Bohemia founded near Berlin in 1737). You will find many old buildings here and a blacksmith. But maybe you've already been there.
I used this to practice today. I painted three derelict Roman columns instead of the full building. I was mainly inspired by how you did the shrubs and trees. It looks great but mine lacked realism. More like a paisley scarf than trees but I am so taken by your work. Please post often. Thank you!
This is such a great explanation of your beautiful style and how you achieve such a cohesive, combined look for your lovely paintings and sketches. Thanks for sharing and helping us to understand how to create this look.
This is stunning. Absolutely beautiful sketchbook, full of details, and so cohesive with the colours throughout the range of paintings, like always. Thank you for sharing your amazing art with us lesser mortals who can only watch from the sidelines in awe.
