Your sketches are clean and fresh looking. I like how you leave lots of white. The idea of doing white contours of people is also brilliant. The flip through is paced perfectly, and it’s wonderful to hear your memories of the various sketches.
Lieber Danny, mach weiter mit Deinem Kanal. Du bist so ein toller Mensch und Künstler. Move on. Ich hoffe es geht Dir gut! Viel Gesundheit und alles Gute!
That's really a good question, you see there shouldn't be any difference, there has to be absolutely no difference and that's the point. That's why great painters while drawing would know how it would look once painted. This guy directly draws and paints in a sketchbook which is very difficult thing to do because you can't be certain whether a sketch would finally work or not after painting it; but I guess nowadays it's a habit of people to indulge in difficult tasks
RU-vid recommended this video randomly and I just had to click on it from viewing the first static picture. I was not disappointed, your paintings are magnificent. I can't even really say what I like so much about them, it is somehow just everything, I even totally adore the calligraphy and even the little exactly written dates. I'm a hobbyist photographer but after having uncountable amounts of holiday pictures on my computer, I kind of get sick of them. In the end, you brows through literally thousands of them and do not really look at them ever again. Your paintings in comparison feel so much more lively, personal and precious. What I always wondered is how much time it takes you to do such a sketch? When I'm on my way it is sometimes even difficult (in matters of time) to get a decent picture and it also is annoying for people how might be with me. So I'm also really impressed how you manage to take the time (and patience?) to do such a work. I'll definitely subscribe to your channel and I have to watch some more of your videos (eventhough I really should learn for linear Algebra at the moment :D )
Thank you so much for your kind comment! I used to take lots of photos when I traveled, and then I realized I never really did much with them and also was just rushing around places without living in the moment. Sketching has made me slow down A LOT, but in a positive way. I usually take anywhere from 1-3 hours for a sketch, depending on the amount of detail, so I sort of become one with the place I'm sketching. :) In any case, thanks again and glad to hear you like my artwork!
This is one of the finest sketch books I have seen. There is travel, food, landscapes, lil details such as seat numbers for memories, it has everything. I paint a lil but I am no where close to what you create. Love it..! :)
WOW! I love the vibrant colors that you picked and how well it works together. The fact that is real life drawing, but in a more cartoonish style, it works splendidly. This is the first video of many that I watched from you and 100% earned my subscribe and admiration. Keep going! :D
I love your artwork. It is so beautiful and skillfully made. Also thanks for choosing that nice subtle guitar music for the background instead of ugly techno. I am a fan! 👌☺️
Your sketches are amazing! Please keep making videos and especially more tutorials. I love your work and it's very much in the direction I'm trying to get at when it comes to urban sketching.
Thank you for taking us along on your trips and a brief glimpse into a few months of your life. It looks like this is something I should try doing as I have hundreds of pictures on my 12 inch iPad. Keep up the great works!
Your work is so gorgeous and clean. I absolutely love it. I’m very surprised you haven’t hit over a thousand subs. I really hope that you get there and farther beyond because this should be seen by more. Can’t wait to see more from you. Xx
Mary Kay Ballard Wyatt Thanks, Mary. It’s a watercolor sketchbook by Hahnemühle. Not sure about gouache, but yes, the watercolor is held up quite well.
Well, you're flipping through the pages.... And here I had a mini tour to all the places you took me through It was a speedy journey but I enjoyed thoroughly... I would also like to appreciate how beautifully you brought everything into place...I loved the intricate measures that you've taken. Gained a lot of inspiration...also thanks for providing me with some great ideas. I know mixing colours on my palette is the next thing I'm gonna do Regards, From India
I'm glad I clicked on your video. Those sketches & painting look so amazing & beautiful. I really enjoy watching your video. Your sketchbook give me an inspiration for my art. ❤😄
today was my first day on your channel . i have deleted all the other channels that i used to visit for water-coloring. I can't believe your work . it is exquisite .
What a gorgeous sketchbook! Your art style is crisp and clean, and I especially love that you did these sketches in different countries. It's such a cool way to capture memories of your travels compared to just taking pictures. Amazing tour!
I haven't even finished the video yet but your work is absolutely gorgeous, it's got a quaint style to it. So glad I found this channel, I was starting to wonder where all the male art RU-vidrs were!
What an interesting perspective and tip about leaving the people as a white space. I never thought of doing that! I always try to attempt to draw them in but it's true that they always come and go and you can't draw them all at once as much as you try. I'll try that next!
thank you so much for sharing your sketchbook. I have only just recently found urban sketching and I very much look forward to learning from differant artists. Your book has inspired me to so much and shown me that there really is no limit to what you can sketch.
Thank you, Danny! Beautiful work. I love how you handle people in a sketch. I’ve never included people because of what you said- they keep moving. It’s a perfect way to handle it. I also like your dots along the borders of several sketches.
Your sketchbook is organised and beautiful.Mine is not so good like you. This is the detailed sketching which I have found here. And you got me inspired me to do sketching( in case I am not good at sketching ).But I will keep trying . Keep it up 👍. Love it. 😊
Thank you so much! I sometimes wonder if I'm too much of a perfectionist when it comes to making things tidy and colorful, but I suppose it all fits in the end. :)
