Just stumbled across you via Heinnie and subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to receiving mine. I have quite a few knives and this seems like a perfect marriage between two of my favourites but much more affordable 👍
Is there any way to reduce the force required to open the blade? having watched a few review vids and this one , mine appears to be a lot tighter and requires a harder push to open. Thanks
@@neilwhite8131 short of modifying the backspring strength, I recommend oiling the slipjoint and allowing it to bed in. Modern manufacturing means that all Atlas slipjoints have similar if not identical actions, you won't have a particularly stiff one. With use your knife will wear in and become easier to deploy. If it's ease of deployment that you're after then consider getting a double detent knife like the Mini Dundee, which has zero friction other than the bearings.
Man i remember when trollsky was one of the only popular knife making videos on youtube, im talking like 14 years ago? And now companies are using his designs for knives? That's some of the best news I've heard of. Good on him!!!!

@@mrlopes1234 similar I'd say, both have fairly light back springs, not as light as a ukpk though. And it's miles harder than closing a double detent flipper.
I noticed on some other videos, the blade is measured at about 7.7cm and some sites list it as 3.03 inches. Is this the same model or has it been ever so slightly shrunk to get under 3 inches? I know the law says "cutting edge" but I like something that can ensure I won't be booking myself a court date. 😅
@@ShadowSmelt Phew, great. Mine is arriving tomorrow so I'll double check, but that's good to hear. I was previously very confident about carrying the boker plus xs, but now I'm not sure that judges will be reasonable. The cutting edge is the cutting edge, and it would be ridiculous for parliament to write a law that plainly means something, have people follow that law, then have judges decide to change the meaning on the fly, simply because ambiguous edge cases might create too much work for courts.
When ordering from you, do you ship with discreet packaging, or is it obvious there's a knife inside? Heinnie always puts big stickers on the package saying there's a blade inside. I'm a collector, and it's always a bit annoying getting dodgy looks from people handling my packages, so I prefer some privacy. Thanks.
Don't worry - nobody will think it's a knife. It comes in a parcel with "Love Honey" printed in massive letters. The parcel is also shaped like a dildo.
Surely this would be classed as a flick knife? As you can push the tab/button on the back and the blade swings out using centrifugal force/ gravity; Making it not uk legal. Would it not need more friction so you cant flick it out. I dont mean to hate im just genuinely confused over the ambiguity of uk law. Great design tho ill definitely pick one up.
@@CDXRK good question, we've had legal advice on this before selling them. It's not covered under the banned knives laws as there is no spring or mechanism propelling the blade out. If you think about it any knife in the world with the pivot slackened off will drop open with gravity. The UK knife law is deliberately grey on this area, so certain criminals can be prosecuted. The law abiding have nothing to worry about.
@@twistedassisted3474 oh excellent, I've had a few I've not been carrying just incase, others I've tightened the pivots and removed bearings but having heard that I'll keep my eyes peeled for more. once again great knife, great products and excellent customer service. @@CDXRK if you live in a city with alot of knife crime, it may be wise to adjust what you carry to be more sheeple friendly, traditional slipjoint etc.
@@twistedassisted3474 I'll keep it in mind for sure! Im from out in the sticks but I carry a civivi elementum utility with the lock disabled and washers so it's a slow open. I haven't had any odd looks yet, touch wood. Shame there's so many sheeple. If only people could see the artistic side of it 🤷🏻♂️. The few spoilt it for the many.
@@SAXONgaming357 I was really tempted by the Damascus scales, but all my TA’s are blackout so instinctively bought that one. Although the Mandu doesn’t have their logo anyway… Maybe I made the wrong choice. Or need to buy both!
@TheStageofHistory have a shelf full of Blacked out TAs 🤷 .. it wouldn't be a bad thing. I'm to tempted and undisciplined to keep such uniformity lol I'm like a magpie for colour 😅. You could have a uk legal john wick of sorts
Nice, I was going to buy the Junzi but now see that you have this on offer. I wonder, is the Junzi still technically the better and more expensive knife? Also just had a look at your site but they are up on presale for 49.99 now.
Hi William, the spec is certainly comparable to the Junzi, same steel, made by a different factory. The Junzi do cost more to make, hence the difference in price. Just weigh up the subtle differences and make a judgement call as to whether it makes a big enough difference to you.
I like the action a lot nice, very back flipper. Will you make this in a thinner blade profile shape? Looking forward to getting the atlas when it is ready.
On mine, on the side face down when flipping, a bit of the DLC seems to have worn away, perhaps from the extra friction against the liners on that side. Is that normal or expected? I've tried cleaning it a bit in case it's just a bit of the liner material getting embedded in the DLC. I'm surprised because I noticed it after less than a week.
I have the Boker /Wiha stubby multi bit driver, and it's my "go to" torx driver, it's fantastic value for money, Unfortunately, I've recently moved house, and I can't find the pesky thing,, 🤣🤣🤣
I've just got the black and jade version, unfortunately the pocket clip was way too tight, almost impossible to get in and out of my pocket,, so I removed it, and tried to bend it a little,, unfortunately it just snapped across the screw holes,, 😱,, so I've just had to order a replacement clip from you, (HH didn't want to send me a "goodwill gesture" replacement, 😢) So, hopefully , I'll be able to carry it everywhere soon,, 👍👍 ps, your shipping charges are a bit much for such a tiny object,, 😱

Hello James! The Atlas looks really. I like the combination of the angular/edgy handle and curve of the blade. I don’t have large hands but will appreciate the larger handle, hate that insecure feeling when a handle is a touch too short. Ordered a PVD black micarta one, can’t wait for it to arrive!
Can you EDC this, I know its not designed to be used as a weapon but the finger ring could make it fall in the knuckleduster law. "A knuckleduster, that is, a band of metal or other hard material worn on one or more fingers"
@@joeht1586 I certainly EDC it, I have blunted the pry edge a bit to be on the safe side. Remember, anything you carry can be termed an offensive weapon, if the police have evidence of your intent to misuse it. A heavy pair of metal scissors have more in common with a trench knife than anything else, however if your intent is to use them for their intended purpose then they aren't an offensive weapon, but a tool you're entitled to carry. So if you're found to be carrying a BAR-KEEP after a football match, where there's violence, then expect to get into trouble. Even a sub 3 inch non locking knife (which you're entitled to carry without a reason in UK law) can be termed an offensive weapon if you say you're carrying it for self defense. Use good judgement, act like a gentleman and you'll be treated with deference, misbehave or be irresponsible and you'll be arrested for carrying a plastic spoon.
@@_justaaxedude7074 Hi, I'd describe the Junzi as a light pull, as is the Atlas, however the ergonomics on the thumb stud are slightly different, so this may influence the experience. I'd still describe the Atlas pull strength as light though. Hope this helps! J
@@BeastAvenger the index finger still fits in there fine when you choke up more detail or heavier work. I've never really considered a half stop to possess any safety benefits 🤔 it won't stop or impede the blade in any way if it's about to close on you.
