PTSD is a life-changing mental illness and many people may be walking around not even aware of the symptoms - thus, prolonging the chance of recovery. We think it is so important to not only raise awareness of this topic but to also offer support for the people living and coping with the condition and also their loved ones. What is our aim? To spread awareness of this illness. We plan to set up weekly meetings (zoom for now) to offer wives, husbands, children and immediate family members to share their experiences with living with someone with this illness. We want to create a support network and a safe place for people to relax and have time to themselves. We want to ease the burden for the families. We aim to fund days out that are suited to those living and coping with PTSD, making them as stress free as possible. A chance to reenergise for the week ahead and realise they are not alone in this and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
