I think you should've mentioned that if mounts and driveshaft are good most any other reason for bellhousing to break/pull bolts out of the jw ultra bell would be chassis flex..messed up 2 turbo 400's from chassis flex. 73 Camaro. Caged and connected but bad body bushings and only an 8 point cage. Big tire. On a sportsman brake.
Mad Dog! I love the fact that you have a video explaining everything that you do in your 4L60e rebuilds and why. I really need your help! I have a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer LS 4.2L RWD that I just replaced the 280K motor with a 40k motor (Cost me 7K) Had the transmission serviced and now the 3-4 has failed. I'm looking for a stage 1 or stock. What is your recommendation? What would it cost me for the transmission and shipping to Miami FL 33145? Please respond ASAP I am itcing to get my truck rolling again with a MAD DOG Sticker in my windows.
I have a 1973 Corvette big block with a 3 speed automatic. I am not a racer but the high rpm at highway speeds with this wonderful engine is less than enjoyable and affordable. I have seen 200's placed in this c3 body but are there other options?
Is this the same for the 4l60 that came in a 93 Chevy Camaro z28. It has a tv cable but also has a round plug as if it’s a 4l60e. I know it’s not. I’m curious because I carved swapped a 97 5.7 vortec and my square plug 700r4 lost 3rd and fourth so my 4l60 should work in in it without using plug. It’s in a 1990 gmc sierra short bed.
2004r is the same length as a powerglide and th350. Then find out if they make a tv cable geometry corrector bracket for your carb. Make sure tc is installed correctly and line pressures are good. Mine has an adjustable vacuum switch for the lock up and it’s great. You should install a temp gauge for it also.
This guy is a scammer. When I was 23 he sold me a “built” transmission that failed in 2 days. I took it to a local builder and he tore in down in front of me showing all the stock parts. Only performance item was a shift kit. Fuck this guy. I’ll tear Lou apart when I run into him someday. I’m 42 now and still pissed off!!!
Hi I have 57 Chevy with a Tremec T56. I have never been happy with the way it shifts since new. I now have an issue with pilot bearing I think. I am considering changing to an over drive tranny 700R4 or a 4L65E. Engine is a 406 ci sbc 550hp 550 tq and 4:11 gears. What tranny would you recommend and ball park estimate shipped to Phoenix AZ. Also this is a street driven car
For a non LS engine go with the 700R4. Our Godfather level 3 is rated for 700 HP with a 1 year unlimited mile warranty. Converter up to a 2400 stall goes for $2195.00. Shipping to a commercial business is $125.00 or shipping to a residence or business on residential property is $225.00. You will also need the brackets and TV Cable, the 700R4 is a cable driven transmission.
@@maddogtransmissions3125 also what effect does it have if you install like 3000-3200 stall converter on a street car. Before the Tremec T56, I had a 700R4 that lasted about 60 days before it broke parts probably from slamming the gas pedal down😂
Mad dog I changed my stall from a 1800 to 2600 both with lock up on a 700r4. my lock up is wired to a switch to hit it when needed. everything is fine..put with the new stall when I hit the lock up switch it feels like a surge ...likes it's jumping in and out of lock up...any ideas?
Mr Koulouvaris I know this video is been a few years I hope you can read my dumb question I apologize in advance I have an 84 corvette Doug Nash 4+3 manual I would like to switch to 700r4 but I'm not familiar with wiring or the computer but you mention that on this video I can run the 700r4 with no computer? thanks in advance.
This is just basic nonsense!! The only real way to know what you need is to know MANY different things about your ride!!! Weight, trans type, gears, rear end ratio, tire size, engine power band, torque, horsepower, and of course, what's it's main purpose, etc.!!
I have a rebuilt 302 foxbody with e303 cam gt40p heads cobra upper n lower intake & 410 gears... Pairing with a b&m trans with shift kit... I put my stall in wrong so I'm going with another one but what would be a match to go with setup... Thanks
The best way to pick a stall for your converter is to go off of what the Basic operating RPM range or basic operating power band range is. Usually it is listed on your Cam Card, but some companies you may have to call for that info. It is a range of numbers, for example 1600-5200 rpm or power band range. You want to stay within 200 of where it starts, so in the example case you would want to go with a 1600-1800 stall. The power comes in where it stalls at so if it starts at 1600 and you get a 2400-2600 stall you miss the range of power between 1600-2400 rpm. Also, the amount of HP you have comes into play with the converter because if you have more than 600HP, are running a Turbo, Super Charger or NOS then you will want to get at least an anti-ballooning plate and possibly a billet hub or dual or triple disk inside the converter.
