Amazing to me that adult humans would believe in something so childish and silly as a "heaven". And there's never a good description of it that makes it a desirable place to attain. People come up with a lot more descriptive "hells" or "hades" than this goofy half- assed "paradise". Which tells a lot more about humans' cognitive process than it does any real place.
But these are true not just beliefs or mythologies..You can verify by reading old texts of ours...there are science chemistry biology maths space and time everything...
Indra is not a entity but a post, there were many Indra and we believe that currently 14th Indra is governing the current Universe. Indra was highly mentioned in Rigveda along with other elemental dieties. Later on the importance of these dieties decreased because of how tough it became to please them through sacrifises. People began to worship the Supreme beings Brahma and Vishnu and Rudra (Shiva) directly because it was easy to please them as they get content with prayers and devotion. Later on as the Vishnu avtars got more popular the Vishnu become the more prominent god who is the preserver and the greatest benefactor of mankind and other species living or non-living and the so-called enemy of Rakshas (Devils).
This man made a mistake he said life of Brahma ji is 432,000 human years but the actual vaidik calculation is Satyuga (17, 28,000 yrs) + tretayuga ( 1296000 yrs) + dwaparyuga (864000 yrs) + kaliyuga( 432000yrs) = 4320000 human year's = 1 Mahayuga 71 Mahayuga (71x 4320000) = 305,520,000 years= 1 Manavantara Now 14 Manavantara (14x305,520, 000) = 4,277,280,000 yrs = 1 kalpa Brahma ji one day is one kalpa and one night is another kalpa, so each entire day of Brahma ji has 2 kalpa Now life of Brahma ji 100 years 1 year of Brahma ji has 360 days means (360x2) = 720 kalpa in each year of Brahma ji So the equation is (720x 4277280000) x 100 = 30,752,256,000,000 So, the entire life of Brahma ji is 30,752,256,000,000 human years

I appreciate J Campbell, however, the story is a little off. The Vedas teach that there are countless universes, each with a Brahma (not a Brahma in each galaxy).

Another deathbed story... After all the research he made, all the conclusions he reached, suddenly, just because he's dying, he would "convert". Catholicism is but one of the many interpretations of reality, you're free to follow what you want, in the same way that any other person, including those who already died and aren't here to defend themselves from such claims. Needing to agree with your religion tells much about you and catholics in general, not about Joseph Campbell. Such an egoistic point of view, while he was so broadly accepting the different ways in which humans explained and expressed the perennial reality.
The creator is the Mother. Not this male deity. Sigh. The Universe is a female deity. The ultimate creator and controller of everything is the Goddess. This is Shaktism--which is the true creation myth. Creation myths with a female Goddess are the original myths. The newer ones turn the creator into a male God and remove the agency of the original creator. When will you people get this simple fact correct? It was known by the ancients, but you modern men come in and think you can change things. Because in your mind, the creator must be a man because men are stronger than females physically. That makes absolutely no sense. Of course the ultimate creator is female. Why? Because she is physically weaker than the male. It is a trade off. Because there will always be someone that wants to overthrow God and it's always a male. This is why it makes sense that the ultimate creator is a female. Because the male is her opposite and she is weaker than he, so even when he tries to overthrow her, he will always also desire her. Because she is the creator and controller of all realities. Nothing can exist without her. And she is his heart, so he can never be rid of her. And if he overthrows her, there will always be another Indra, like the story says, that will want to be the savior and save the Princess. It is a story as old of time and it'll never die. It's an endless spiral. Only a blind fool would say that the Ultimate Creator is male because he is physically stronger. I would argue the opposite. That the creator made herself weaker to ensure that her standing as the Creator remains as it is. There will always be She, who is energy--the essence of life. The life giver. Without the life giver, there is no such thing is life. There is no reality. We all live in her womb and must obey her laws. Even if her sons are stronger than her, they still came from her womb and cannot ever overpower her or go above her, because he was created and She, was not. Because she is the Virgin Mother. Being the Virgin Mother does not mean like, she is sexless. Virgin Mother means she was not created. She is self replicating. She came from no one. That is why she is called "The Virgin". Not because she is chaste, but because she has no father or mother. She was given no name because there was no one there before her to give her name, so she has no name--though humans have given her plenty. Recognize and love your mother. Let go of these false teachings of the Creator being a male. These are newer myths that have been attempting to overwrite the true stories. This madness must end.
