I am just a run of the mill family man that got a passion for modifying cars and sharing my experience with those that want to watch. I work on a budget, I do it for fun and I enjoy every second of it. Comment, Like, Subscribe or not I'm so easy going ill reply to positive and negative comments with a smile. I like anything that’s fun, fast, has 4 wheels, and puts a smile on your face. Life is too short not to have fun.
I bought the clone V2 my self and got software from Enola in England, the car works perfectly. Was i lucky or do the professional tuners do the checksum before sending the file? Also, is it best to alway run id before read and write?
Check your levels. If it’s showing your levels are ok you need to check the adblue injector. It gets blocked by crystals and need cleaning. Its on the drivers side of the exhaust and can be taken off and cleaned with out lifting it off the ground
@@JM-gp4nd the injector is in the side of the exhaust like an o2 sensor. If it’s a right hand drive it’s on that side roughly level with the edge of the door. You don’t need loads of tools you can squeeze under without lifting it of the ground but to make it a little easier lift that side or the front middle. Take the injector out if the end is covered in white crystals that’s your problem. Clean them all off and don’t forget to clean where the injector sits in the exhaust as that also clogs. These crystals stop the spray from injecting a certain amount in a certain pattern into the exhaust to turn the gasses more into a h2o type liquid that you have probably seen dripping from your exhaust if your sat idling in your drive for a while and the sensor further down the exhaust reads your emission values and that could be the reason
Cloned tools do work but they don't do checksum correction which is why it probably didn't work first time genuine tools correct before flashing kess 2 don't exist now mate kess 3 but it's all online server based
Your absolutely right about clones and checksums. The videos I did where to show it’s possible to do it on a shoestring budget. It had its ups and downs and I enjoyed doing it. Thanks for watching 🙏
@@Mv23689 that’s a good question and checksums are used everywhere not just in ecu maps. a checksum is a mathematical algorithm that checks the accuracy and integrity of the data.
@@DriveWayRay get you now so because you had a clone it's was giving you the grief I understand now that's for the information and help just subscribed today ;)
Thanks for watching 🙏. The company have not restocked so my advice is have a look on eBay and spend some time looking at the sellers feedback on the kess before deciding which one to get. Remember that they are clones and that some are made really badly so really dive into the feedback to reduce your risks.
The exhaust had a decat, full air intake system upgrade, hot and cold side silicone upgrade pipes to the turbo and an upgrade bov in the turbo. After the ecu file rewrite it made 272bhp on the dyno with massive flames and exhaust bangs.
Just cos of your video, I ordered a kess v2 clone and expecting it soon. I'm trying to remap my bmw 320d e90, hopefully all goes well when it arrives!! Any tips or any advice from yourself would be appreciated? Cheers mate!
Firstly thanks for watching. My advice is take your time don’t rush and if you’re unsure double check. Use a battery stabiliser if you can’t get your hands on one use jump leads to another car this should keep your voltage over 13. And make sure you save and label your original ecu file before you do anything. Good luck 🤞
@@DriveWayRay my topdon said the same thing, I called support and they told me to send it in for a warranty replacement, good charging isn’t a battery testing reply option.
Yes as long as you understand the financial implication to yourself if you get it wrong. Most mistakes are easy to sort but if you brick your ecu it may cost you alot
@@johnmccarthykarting not sure postal remaps are still going. There are lots of cheap options out there, have a look around and ask questions. If you have the original map you could get that modified with a simple stage one then just overwrite the pop and bang
I just fitted the gaiter in my car after seeing yours. Definitely a big improvement from standard. My gaiter came with cut outs for the tabs, however I had to carefully cut out the leather underneath where the two seams fold under at the front as they made it too bulky to reassemble the frame. I used nail scissors and a razorblade, then superglued it down. I replaced the standard knob with a Mk1 Audi A3 style knob.
I want to add nitrous to my car but my car is already stage 1 mapped and dont fancy shelling out for another tune to get nitrous to work. I thought abiutaybe using kess v2 to try but dont fancy bricking my car
I was informed that fake kessv2 dosent do the checksum so has to be done with winols how true that was I can’t answer that with my knowledge but it worked in the end so I was chuffed
I had mine mapped yesterday with a laptop , it pulls hard 1.1 bar of boost up until 5k revs then drops down to 0.6 bar boost and he claimed 270hp on his mapps
ballache with rocker cover gasket. Not sure if these are M54 engines or not but the M54B30 we've got in the 330i had an issue with the rocker cover gasket leaking oil onto the exhaust. Hugely common and you have to get a new gasket and then sealant the hell out of it for the leaks to be no more. Not right that proper inspection wasn't taken by the garage before handing the car over. Them handing that car over in that state could be a health and safety risk because of the oil leaking onto the exhaust.
It’s the m54b25 engine and it’s the first bmw I’ve ever owned so still learning atm. I’m still chasing the car sales place but should have an update within the next 14 days, taking the legal route.
@@DriveWayRay cool! My cluster's display flickers and probably causes other problems with it. This might be a good chance to upgrade it. Only problem is I have only one key and I think I need two to make the programming.
My little lad wouldn’t get in it unless he wore ear defenders it freaked him out, but it was the second car/channel car so he didn’t have to go in it often
