Its rather interesting to specilate when reality ends and the fiction begins, did Thomas Zane start it all being unable to defeat the dark presence himself write alan into existence or did Alan write as Zane to give him the clicker that he just made up to comfort his scared wife when his apartment power went down to make that story true, Alan wrote that zane freed him from the dark place did alan also write that the Andersons wrote music that gave him and others like Jessie hints or is everything predetermined long before the events of the games is the FBC the Andersons , wake , zane , Door were they all dreamt up by another force all to play their part in something much larger.
Don’t you find it weird that for an organization that specializes in the mind of people, wouldn’t they think putting an extrovert like Terryl in a position that isolates her from everyone would be problematic?
What I’d give to see Tim in Jack Joyce’s original outfit. Super excited with this new agency at play. I was worried that they wouldn’t have anywhere to go after Quantum Break, but this set up has me intrigued. This ended up being my favorite episode of the DLC. Remedy pls just buy Quantum Break back or have some sort of x deal with Microsoft
I'm leaving too many comments on one profile or video.... But dean, i 0:09 truly don't want you to fail. Get your shit together because honestly you don't know anything about business you need to be promoting all remedies games. That once you start promoting all of their games they'll maybe sponsor you
I care about your videos dean, I even put them on my blog that's connected to remedy. You don't have crazy theories. They are factual in the most part.
First Episode is likely blended with Rose's fiction, it's similar in tone to the lunchbox scraps of fiction. In the epilogue cutscene of the first game Rose takes over as the "Lady of the Light", which is kind of a protector role for Bright Falls. Rose was also touched by the dark presence. However, her fiction can't actually affect reality to the same extent as Alan's. As Control's DLC shows, not everyone is capable of harnessing the power to affect reality with writing, look at Hartman who is technically a highly educated man, but one who lacks the "creative spirit". Rose has that "creative spirit", it's just not honed to the extent where it could be used to its full potential. The second Episode seems to be an earlier draft written by Alan for the plot of Control as a short story. The third Episode is really interesting, as it ties in Quantum Break with the rest of the Remedy-verse, however it seems like it was quite rushed.
Cant wait to hear what Monty Zander will say about this DLC in Lore Dump .... should be very interesting. I know he's a friend of the channel. You guys are my top content creators wheb it comes to Remedy stuff
It's worth mentioning that Franke is heavily implied to have a (possibly requited) crush on Kitty that she herself may or may not be consciously aware of.
The crazy thing about all of these is that, no matter how deep it may get, these are all still just Night Springs episodes written by Alan. It completely muddies the lore implications because some can be total fabrications for the sake of making his story work and some can be how remedy’s universe works. Like episode 2 for example. Clearly Alan isn’t Dylan and the FBC isn’t in coffee world and coffee world isn’t actually some government sanctioned hivemind conspiracy. It’s just what Alan wrote for Night Springs. So how much of the Time Breaker episode is “just Night Springs” and how much of it is real? If you can’t create something from nothing (as Alan believes at least, which is good enough for now) then how much of this multiversal story is canon? It could be that the rules of creating the rules of these multiversal stories was why it was a failed attempt to escape. There’s new info in there, but given that it’s an episode of Night Springs, it’s hard to tell how much of that info is reliable….and I love it for it. I think it’s incredibly interesting because of it. We can’t just ask ourselves what that episode means on its own. We have to also ask ourselves what does it mean for reality outside of Night Springs? Because it possibly could only slightly resemble it, like the other 2 episodes. I’m also wondering if these became real night springs stories in reality. Wonder if Jesse will find the one about her going to coffee world in Control 2 and be like “….Wake, wtf?”
I think "The sea of night" is just another name for the Dark Place, that would mean the dark place is an in-between space for the multiverse, connecting it to events in all of the RCU (AWE's especially). I've gotten some pushback for it on reddit, but I'm not convinced it's wrong. Thoughts?
I hoped you would play this. Love your videos and thought this was perfect after I played it.....for 200 hours....and didn't finish.... lol That being said, Ann romance (imo) is not correct.
Thanks! I'm happy to finally be playing it. And my Ann comment really came down to the Lovers arcana. I usually see it as the default romance since that is how they portrayed it in other games.
@@GamingUniversityUoG I’d like to view Ann’s subway chase and the diner scene as part of a more subtle tutorial on what Ren/Joker needs to do to get the most out of the confidants. There’s parallels to that scene and nearly every confidant going forward. They even added one for Royal for a certain confidant that wasn’t in the original. Now I leave you with this like from Mementos talking about two lovers but also fits Ren and most of his confidants(so not exclusively romantic) , “The two wounded hearts (Arsène and Carmen both have broken heart motifs. Arsène with his five broken hearts on his sleeve and a lot on Carmen’s tights.) felt sympathy for each other’s plights, and they decided to cooperate.”
Sorry to hear that. I hope you enjoy the game. If case you missed it the latest Psychonauts went up less than a month ago. Nearly an hour video. I'm currently finalizing all video assets and notes for the next one. These, unfortunately, take a lot of production time to make than a lot of my other videos.
I am surprised by how explicit Door's origin is. I mean, everyone knew Door=Hatch but I didn't expect them to be so specific. Is it even possible without some kind of agreement with MS about merging QB with RCU officially?
In reference to the dark presence, I think Barbara was just a vessel for the presence the same way Alan was. It leaves Alan and goes into Alex, Alan said that Alex wasn’t a suitable host but that’s only because Alex didn’t have anybody in his love life. Barbara had Thomas Zane, Alan wake had Alice. The dark presence finally gets destroyed by the bullet of light which is Alice. Alan thanks her for her love and says love is strange. I think the dark presence was created by hate and then fully realized love destroyed it.
The main reason that the kids can't do much against these Rotten Adults in this game. Is because of the Japanese Collectivist lifestyle and Felial Pioty (Respect to your Elders basically) In Japan, if you try to Undermine Authority they will make damn well sure that your entire life is Sh*t Any Power kids have is pretty much none existing in Japan.
Putting myself into the headspace of Japanese culture is a prerequisite for anyone playing these games. I've seen a lot of western gamers try them and dislike the writing because they cannot adapt to the cultural norms of the developers. I do my best to avoid this, and fail sometimes, so I appreciate your input.
And now, we got to the reason for me wanting to kick Kamoshida's Teeth in He pushed Shiho to the Brink and even was Inappropriate to her, it's even worse in the anime by the way. She WANTED to die because of him
Fun fact: In the anime Joker is actually shown playing the game and he has a death glare at Kamoshida after he gets hit in the face by the ball. Briefly startling the Twisted Man Basically, the Persona anime adaptations add more to the Protagonists than the games can
Would it be okay for me to talk about Mementos Missions because there’s a lot of cool stuff related to Persona 5 but I can talk a lot of stuff without spoiling your play through? I do recommend it after you’ve played through Royal.
I have a couple individuals who will be dropping certain info for me as needed during my playthrough. They know when to do it to avoid spoilers. But I appreciate the offer!
@@shelbybayer200 Honestly he’s the palace ruler who pisses me of the most. Because he should know better. He may have had good intentions but he’s still paving a path to Hell with them. To me his world view is a candy covered poison apple surface level sweetness and enjoyment but rotten and deadly to the core.
@@GamingUniversityUoG For the Persona 3 stuff, I recommend looking into the Movies because it adds more character traits to Makoto Yuki even has a character arc you can't really recreate in the Games themselves
Oh yeah I'll be going through all the content I can before moving onto it. It's a huge franchise with a lot of moving parts related to these events and characters.
The mentor also instills or enforces the knowledge, skills and even fears. Ignorance of knowledge and passing hidden in the guise experience. It is only after the passing that the fog of that arrogance dissipates revealing true errors. That some of those believed to be cast as Gold. Were merely only caught in the idea of its Rosey hue.
I wonder, could Zanza from Xenoblade Chronicles 1 count as an aggressive diviner? He does force Shulk to be more reliant on the Monado by showing him visions of bad futures which makes him think he needs to use the Monado, and he is actively manipulating Shulk to be his vessel.
every one has it ????????? or it's a limit... in video they say 4 + 1 alan no? so there where many or only like 4 5 ? do kind gaming uni know???? pls ty ty
10:07 something important to understand is that hollis might have intentionally did some more severe damage to her boss due to resentment to him as well since as we can see with hollis a simple mental reconnection like what Raz did doesn’t seem to cause the insanity the doctor had but instead lead to a notable change in behaviour and altitude due to that mental rewiring. If hollis has only wanted to stop him from plagarising it would not have caused it to this extent but would definitely alter the doctor’s mind in unforseen ways. It also kinda turns the whole bit as a “getting what you give” to hollis. She learnt her lesson but never experienced what the doctor did due to what Raz did she is now forced to face just how wrong she was in her actions in a more personal level. Not saying she didn’t regret what she did, she most certainly did but when resentment and anger go uncontrolled it leads us to doing destructive actions
How about the Time Breaker transference vortex having.... red blood cells? Also, I feel like there's something with all of these characters "finding" Alan. Like he agreed to write this for Door and made himself the thing these people were chasing, and it bled into the "real world (AW2)" to make sure these important characters ended up helping Alan
