* H E Y ! My name is Tasha Leelyn, I'm a Canadian lifestyle vlogger livin' in the country with my 6 Dogs! Home Renos, Home Decor, Thrift With Me - catch my drift? Thanks for watching! *
I hired movers only once because I was moving from Paris to L.A. (a little complicated with a U-Haul 😂), all what I packed arrived perfect, some of what they packed arrived broken. Conclusion: you probably do it better than any mover. I don’t like strangers touching my stuff. It’s a lot of work but it’s worth it, I mean doing it ourselves.
Oh wow now that is a MOVE. Wow! I had read through a lot of reviews about different moving companies and so many broken item complaints! You have made me feel a lot better about our decision to do this ourselves! Thank you!
my bedroom was "under the eaves" in my parents house - my brother has the house now and he's pretty much left everything as it was and so we have places to stay if we ever visit - I loved my room under the eaves - it was so cozy....love the house you're leaving but excited to see what you do with the new one! Cheers!
Normally we would move ourselves but our parents are getting old, we're not a ask the friends for favours type people (tbh when we've tried we've gotten all nos anyway) and when we leave this house it'll be too big of a job for 2 so we're gonna hire movers. Feels like a weird thing to do for me as well, but ultimately I'd love the help.
Michael and I moved from our last house to this house completely by ourselves and it didn’t bother us at all (we too don’t like to ask for help) but I also see the value in hiring people especially when you do need the help. ❤️
Awwww Michael’s mom is wearing your shirt!!! 😍 I thought his dad was gonna cut the grass for you? Honey, moving across country with 6 dogs might call for hiring movers!
Just fyi, do look at the price for movers cause when I did my move from Kitchener to New-Brunswick movers were cheaper than the U-Haul. but that was also in 2021.
We unfortunately do not have the luxury of waiting for a container to be delivered - usually it’s about a week or so window they give you of when it will be delivered, and I only have Michael home for a very short period of time to pack, move and unload. So the van is what will work best for us so we can do things on our own time crunch.
@tashaleelyn Last summer, you gave me the advice to ONLY keep things that I really want and what I REALLY use. ❤ I’m prepping my house to have my parents move in, in the next couple of weeks or so. I’ve filled a 12 yard “Bin There Dump That” Bin and I still have more! It is such a freeing feeling! ❤ Thank you for the advice, thank you for your videos and thank you for your chats ❤ (Miss them 😊) Looking forward to seeing your new home in Nova Scotia and all the changes and Tasha Touches you’ll be doing 💖 Just remember that Girly is with you no matter where you go. Always and forever 🐾💖✨ ***Side Note: Nelly is from the Bahamas, isn’t she? No wonder she loves the heat! 💖🐾***
I just love that guest room set up in the loft! I know you're moving but I just had to say how pretty that rug is w/the bed itself & the bedding & though I would like that combo anywhere - I think the light in & shape of the space adds to the ambiance of the soft clay & muted tones ! PS - from what I hear cuz I have never done it or moved far for that matter - but people say once you hire movers you'll never do it any other way. Obviously, everyone's experience will be different. I don't know if you've tried pricing it out but if you put a value on your time & energy & packed your own boxes but let movers pack up the truck & unpack the truck when you arrive - it might be well worth the price!!
I saw another RU-vidr who moved from one coast to Nova Scotia and she had a moving company that she worked with that did the work for free. Maybe you can reach out one as well. Just a sponsored move across the country
@@TashaLeelyn the name is Ariel Bassett but now I can’t find the video of her moving. But she definitely used a moving company that sponsored the channel
@TashaLeelyn what we did was donate alot of extra stuff or sold it. We also stocked up on medication for our dog and called a vet in nova scotia ahead of time for a check up. Since it's tick season make sure to either protect them or get atlantik spray. We also used calming treats to make sure they were asleep during the drive. I always recommend packing less and donating more so you don't carry around the extra. We got rid of heavy furniture and brought light things like bookshelves. TVs we brought in the car wrapped in bubble wrap and blankets
Im a diy girly too but i forced my mother to hire movers for her last move and they were amazing and so fast ..no stress. Its definitely worth the money depending on the situation.
I moved across country with one dog that didn’t have any medical conditions. That was HELLA stressful 🥲 You doing this with six dogs is INCREDIBLE. Backing you big time girl ❤❤❤
Moved from los angeles to the east coast and i drove myself and my things there lol hiring people is so expensive, i didnt even uhaul bc that was also too expensive for me so i had all my things in my car but also left behind alot of things. I cant wait to move again and make new memories 😊 excited to see your journey thanks for sharing!🖤
I agree. The only time I hired movers was when I divorced my ex husband. It was just me and my toddler son moving out of state. I just couldnt do it by myself
Thank you for sharing this video, I’m majorly nesting at the moment these vids are super motivating and inspiring! Hope you’re doing well Tasha 💚 Love from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
When we move in!!!! (in July)! Someone was living in the house we bought and I didn’t want to invade their privacy by showing it before it’s ours. Maybe I’ll do a sneak peek soon though!
Hola! Found your page through YT's algorithm, and loved watching this, we just moved here and renovated an old one room school house with an apple orchard + creek. We are in Pictou County and share a similar lifestyle if you wanna have a new pal out this way <3 @daysoftay
Hi Tay!!! I so appreciate your comment, it would be nice to know some people who have been through it already. I’m gonna follow you on IG if that’s okay! Look forward to chatting!! 💕
