STORYTIME: we almost lost our house 

I know nothing about selling any buying houses, but wow - selling within 24 hours and buying a house that had been on the market for months? Crazy! Super cool

Been there, done that, with the craziness of selling and buying. It’s enough to give anyone a breakdown and that’s without the 24 hr notice. I’ll tell you that I 100% believe that if it was meant to be yours, it would work out. AND IT DID! Do I also feel that a certain “Girly” 🐾 💖 had a paw or two in making it happen for her best mama? Yes. Yes, I do ❤ I am truly happy for you. I’m going to miss being able to call you a fellow Ontarian 😂 But I KNOW how happy you will be in Nova Scotia, in your new home with family close by ❤

I don't think it's dramatic AT ALL. Housing is a huge deal and making your house a home is incredibly important. I get it. We r renting my teenage home from my mom. I grew up here since middle school. I met my husband in my early 20s in this home. Our kids know this home as gma and gpa's house. We know majority of the neighbors and it has a lovely wild back area with an amazing view. But I have a love-hate relationship with it. It's my most toxic relationship 😂. It's a 35 y.o. house. The last update it got was in 2000. I am constantly decluttering, scrubbing and planning on what needs fixing next. My mom was SO over the state of this place when her and my step-dad moved into the house he inheritated. So we r essentially renting my hand me down, crusty, dusty, grimey, outdated childhood home. It needs so much work. All I want to do is fix it up and make it cozy for my family. It's gonna take lots of elbow grease and money and time. Plus like you we rescued 7 animals only it's cats not dogs. Many a tear I have shed for and in "this old house" cue Bob Villa. Lol I feel you Tasha.❤

I've never bought property/a house in North America before (even though I'm from California, lol), I'm an immigrant in France and only know the French market. Here in France there is this form that both the buyer and the seller have to sign after the offer has been accepted which basically says that the seller can not in any way sell their property to a different buyer than the one on this document that has been signed (it also means that the buyer is intending to buy and not pull out for any other reason than not obtaining the loan from the bank if the property is not being bought in full), and it's legally binding, and lasts about 2 weeks after signing. Is there anything like this in Canada or the US? Because the real-estate market just kinda feels a bit sketchy if there are no legal things in place like that

Thats all so crazy! I can’t imagine going through all of that in 24 hrs. My process was a few days just for buying and that was hectic. I can’t imagine doing selling and buying negotiations at the same time in 24hrs! I hope you’re feeling relieved, that you’re excited for the transition and can’t wait to see what you do with the next spot!

Similar thing happened when I had to find a new place for my kids and I after my separation. A duplex caught my eye on FB marketplace and we went to look at it the next day. I was hoping it would be available more so in a couple of months. I still needed to sell my house. They gave it to another person, but called me back and said they decided to not sell the other side and instead rent it and they gave me two weeks to sell my house. I managed to do it and I'm so fortunate it worked out. It was the biggest stress to find a place my kids would like. I can't wait to see your new place and to see what you do with it.

My dad also moved out there and has been wanting me to move there eventually but I live an hour from Toronto right now and the concerts and shows are making it so hard for me to decide what to do!
