I have only tried one over one on a 28 count linen and I really didn’t like it. I plan to restart it in Lugana or Aida. It’s a Christmas theme so it probably won’t be in my radar for a few months. But I do have a friend in our local stitching group that does one over one on all counts and all fabric types - Angie Sawyer. She does amazing work but says she definitely uses magnifiers to do it!

Love your dyed 18 count Aida at the beginning of your video for the owl forest project…what colour dye did you use and how do you dye a large piece like this without too much mottling? 😊
This one was a failed piece of something else from my shop that I overdyed just to throw someone onto the original coloring I was tying for. Because I just threw things in to overdye it, I have no idea what I did! I want to say this one started as a creamy color and I threw in some blue over it when the cream came out too brown. But I could be wrong. I had a week where there were a whole lot of oopsies in my fabric pieces and I threw them all in some other random colors just for fun. In general, for the minimal mottling effect, I find less time in the dye solution usually does the trick. 5-10 minutes at most if you want a least dramatic mottling.
So sorry I didn’t realise you sold your fabric, I didn’t mean to ask any trade secrets x I’ve just started dying my own Aida and and it’s a definite learning curve, can’t seem to get the same colour twice and I seem to dye too dark so far so will try less time ☺️👍 thankyou for your reply…I’m definitely going to buy a Caroline Manning pattern now as love your stitch 🎉

I typically write every recipe down when I am experimenting and know the exact ratio of everything but when they are just mess ups that I am throwing back in just to see whether I can still salvage the piece, I am just playing and don't write those down. waw ! yours works are very big... How do you find time to cross stitching such a big designs ? I cross stitch a little design I am tired and I don't see the end 🤣😄
A little here and a little there. Every stitch adds up eventually. I do have a lot of big projects and know realistically I won’t be able to complete all of them in my life time, but I still enjoy the process so it doesn’t bother me.
It's been awhile since I read a book by Amy Harmon but I remember really enjoying the ones I did read, so maybe it's time to pick one up again. Recently, I've loved reading books by KM Shea, Jenny Proctor, Emma St. Clair, Nichole Van, Sarah M. Eden, and Melanie Jacobson. If you haven't read books by these authors, I think you might enjoy them.
Great video. Love the book reviews,and recommends. Love all Carolyn Manning designs.. I like to give you my choice,but I am conflicted as well. I am doing one of her older patterns for” Manning May”… A Flower a Day. I have to take advantage of her sale. Be Well.
I thought about doing this pattern as well but then wanted to do a color conversion for a little more of a monochromic look. But that just got way too complicated for me so that’s on the back burner for a possible future project! Happy stitching!
I enjoyed seeing all your projects and love the book reviews. Added a bunch to my kindle wish list! I am trying to decide which Carolyn Manning to purchase during the sale too. There are just so many good ones its hard to not buy them all. :)

OMG You’re on a Carolyn Manning addiction. When I first learned of Long Dog Samplers I became obsessed with getting as many of her charts as I could and now have more than I can finish in this lifetime, or at least I think so LOL

I am a new subscriber - finding you after I purchased some fabric from you recently. My next new start is "Bee Farm" by Erin Elizabeth. It will be part of a SAL with Helen D., Cobweb Corner, and Erin Elizabeth. Erin has recently shared how she is painting her "bee house" and I plan to do that as well. I normally do not do much bee stitching, but this project is intriguing.

I’m new to your channel but just watched all your videos. You do such a good job on your cross stitching. I’m always amazed when I see such progress on projects. I have young kids so my time is limited right now. One day though. My new start is Irish Mandala by Chatelaine. I’m so nervous but excited.
Love all your wips and your fabrics and my wishlist has grown by several projects. My current WIPs are a dimensions petite called Tea Coffee n Fine Foods, Hazel's Wardrobe by Erin Willis, and a Dragon Library from etsy for the Chinese New Year. My next start is going to be I See You In My Dreams Max Color charted by HAED artist Jenoviya Art. I have material and pattern but am still amassing the 240 colors.
