A collection of steam locomotives and railway clips from the late 80's to now, featuring all kinds of engines in all kinds of places doing all kinds of work... I hope you enjoy!
@@mattcantle3725 it was an awesome run up the hill from a standing start mate, 12a sounded like her old sharp self, fantastic with no slips well done to you
😢 I'm so sad that I couldn't really see anything... but... I very much enjoyed the sounds of the engine going on it's moonlight trek. You just can't beat the sounds of steam trains. Takes me back to my childhood when they still ran the Gippsland line and the brand new 'L class' electric engines were beginning to make themselves known. 😊😊😊
Most of this vid is from the morning run down to Nigel from the Springs depot, which was mostly down hill. They would go down in the morning tender first with a light train, spend the day shunting, then they would return, funnel first up the grades back to Springs. In 1989 that was a daily Mon - Friday routine. It was magnificent!!!
One NA has been out of action for a few years now and that’s NA is 6A but it’s it that much longer until 6A is back in steam because 6A is my favourite NA and they’ve just put undercoat on 7A to represent I would say a little tribute to 5A
7A dressed to look like now sadly scrapped loco 5A and I’m guessing that’s what 5A was painted like before the loco was scrapped and it’s sad that those amazing narrow gauge steam locomotives 🚂 were scrapped
No. The grey is just undercoat. All the Na locomotives ran in the Green, then red and finally black variations you see at Puffing Billy. This seems to be a welcome one off trip.
The whistle on this loco sounds almost identical to the standard New Zealand Government Railway whistle…if it is indeed a privately manufactured whistle could it be that they copied the NZGR item?
Hey Luke, I don't often reply to most comments, but I have to state the fact that this footage is NOT sped up or tampered with... Its as it come from the camera. I simply join the sections together...
Seven of the seventy Victorian Railways R class Hudsons have been preserved. Of these four are in operational use like this one. Not many months if the year when each does not run a fan trip often double headed. Lots of RU-vid videos recording their use in preservation and a few from their normal service from about 1951 to 1967.
Hi Thank you for recording precious moments about Chengde Steelwork Branch. I am a rail-fan in Chengde, China. I am very appreciated your work. Could I use this video as a part of my film of "Beijing-Chengde" Railway? I would enclose the original RU-vid link while writing your name in my film. Best wishes, SkyUniverse
The fabulous Hudson, great footage. I am very saddened to hear about your illness, maybe because I am getting old myself and these things are felt more by older people I think. I hope you are able to do the things you love for a good while yet. 😊
I wish I could ride in a train one more time where I feel safe. I traveled from Mafeking to Kimberley, often in the 70s, Mafeking to Durban a few times in the 70s.
I remember seeing 1 of these near Seymour alongside the 3801 on the Standard Gauge line . They were flying that day. That was the day the R came off the tracks on a faulty new set of points. A lot of crow bars got her back
