I’m fairly new to your channel… started with mat reviews and really grew to love your content! I am glad to see you posting again. Wish you all the best to you and your family!
I've had a Manduka for over 10 years, then on a whim bought a Lululemon Big Mat a couple years ago when shopping. The grip and control I have on my Lululemon matt is far stronger, I will never go back. More grip than any other mat I've ever used, especially when sweating, or during hot yoga. I use my Manduka as extra cushion under my Lululemon now.
I’m happy to hear you found a mat you like! You reminded me of an ad I once saw that I think got cancelled! A boy goes to a vending machine, puts money in, presses the button for Pepsi and gets a Pepsi. Then puts more money in, steps on the Pepsi can and is now able to reach the Coca-Cola button and gets his coke 😂
I have used yoga mats in the past, but now I just practice on my floor. I do feel that a mat can help slightly, but the benefit to me just doesn't seem worth the trouble. I can remember some times in my life when I procrastinated yoga until I could buy a mat, or might not have practiced when I wanted to because I had left it at home. Realizing that I don't actually need one at all is liberating for me. I view them now as props akin to blocks, which can be helpful but aren't always needed. And I think that perhaps more people should consider this, because the principle of degrowth tells us that the most sustainable path is to reduce our consumption.
Yes if not having the best mat becomes an obstacle to practice then yes! Go for the floor. In some practices the floor can be enough and so if you’ve found what works for you then that’s great :-)
Amazing tutorial, thank you! This has gone from seeming impossible to quite achievable, although it will clearly take some time and work. My goal was to learn this skill to eventually progress towards a back handspring. I had never heard of ashtanga yoga before, but your mention of it has piqued my interest to find out more about it.
Call me crazy, but because mine stays down most of the time, it gets vacuumed when the Robovac gets around the room. Today, I cleaning it by putting washing up liquid and hot water in the bath. So much grime came off!
Very nice explanation. I have knee arthritis, so can't do malasana. Can you kindly help me to do malasana with some cues or alternate steps. Kindly look into this. Thank you in advance ❤
Lovely lovely video 😍😍😍😍😍 can’t wait for the yoga mat one .. Im considering to buy a travel yoga mat and my main concern is the wight.. since I will move alot I would like to buy a mat which serves me best 🙏🏻 I watched your previous ones and I loved all the details u mentioned and considered while making those videos.. since it’s been a while I would love to see the upcoming yoga mat review with any market update and all ..have a beautiful day dear 😍🌷🌷🌷
I purchased a beautiful and expensive Lifeforme yoga mat but sadly the grip vanished after a year of daily ashtanga practice. I’m a sweaty girl when I practice so it’s impossible to use this one without a towel. Next I purchased a Manduka eKo which has amazing grip but less so when super sweaty. Also, the mat started to deteriorate after 6 months of vigorous daily practice. I really want to try the Manduka pro but know I’ll be slipping all over the place. So I will either go for the Jade Harmony or Manduka GRP, as grip is everything for me and accept that they are not likely to last longer than a year for me.
An Ashtanga yoga daily practice has given me more back, than I could ever give to myself! youthfulness, energy, aliveness, enthusiasm, & mostly living in the present moment (no longer creating😮time)
You used the wrong side of the lulu mat. The rubber side is for low-medium intensity. If your for high or hot were you swear, you use the soft absorbent side.
