Today's video is a short and sweet 40-minute Ashtanga yoga body workout. This could also be considered a short form of Ahstanga yoga. We will be focusing on the ashtanga sun salutation sequence as well as the Ashtanga standing sequence.
And so if you only have 40 minutes for your practice, then step on your mat and practice along with me :-)
We'll be practicing a 40 Minute Ashtanga Yoga flow, with 5 ashtanga sun salutations A and 3 sun salutations B. From there we are going to move on to padangustasana and padahastasana, followed by Trikonasana A&B, Parsvakonasana A&B, Prasarita Padotanasana A, B, C D..We then move on to wheel pose (Urhva Dhanurasana) and Shoulder stand and we finish the practice with the 3 final postures: Baddha Padmasana, Padmasana, Utplutih, and then we rest in Savasana.
This is one version of the ashtanga yoga short form that I like to practice when I don't have much time.

Thank you for offering this valuable content!❤🙏 It works very well for me, because sometimes 1 hour of primary series is too much and then I'm not connected with my body anymore, which results in exhaustion. In these 40 minutes I was constantly engaged and felt just good all the time. :)

That’s wonderful to hear! In Ashtanga we tend to have an all or nothing approach, and so that’s why I love shorter practices and also why I filmed this one :-)

Agree! This was my first time practising the Ashtanga sequence and I was enjoying and feeling pleased with myself for following along quite nicely... until that point, then my lower back was like noooo :D

Thank you so much! 🙏🏻 I have lost my way with my ashtanga practice and your videos are helping me regain my confidence and resolve to keep going, especially when I had a good practice and now I feel older and stiffer!i would be interested in half primary series if that was possible. You have a lovely pace and voice.

This series has been extremely helpful with slowly getting into ashtanga Yoga. Thank you for posting these, you also have a nice relaxing voice. Do you plan on making a half and full primary series videos? If so, I'd watch them to guide my practice!

Wonderful class. I have a suggestion though: the poses in the second half came without guidance on how to properly get into them. I stopped because I didn’t want to injure myself.

Thank you for your yoga classes and informative videos. I like your teaching style and calming voice. My only wish would be for more classes and maybe no voice over…microphone so close you can hear swallowing which can be distracting for a sensory sensitive person. But otherwise…keep it up! Thank you again!
