tremendous achievement by Liverpool!all those brilliant teams that season.they came from lower down the table.all those league games,scraping a point,coming from behind.going to replays in the fa cup and coming through or winning in extra time it's possibly the most remarkable season in the club's history it was so different than all their other title winning seasons!and 1988 and 1990 seemed to be nothing like that season either!
I was in leppings that day and it's first time at a match i can remember thinking to myself "i don't like this" that was before kick off.i can remember a couple times actually having to gasp for breath,when we 1st got in we actually went close to the front but decided to move further back as we said the view was crap i even think the crush barrier that you see all mangled is were we first stood. I have no idea what it must have been like for my family back home (i was 19 at the time) people have to remeber there was no mobile phones back then so the wait for the phone to ring must have been unreal,lucky enough there was a halfords (i think it was) near the ground and they let us use the phone to basically call and say i'm alive.😢 jft97
