BADFINGER feat. Bob Jackson The phenomenal success Badfinger achieved in the early Seventies and their now legendary status makes them one of the most respected bands in Rock history. Since becoming a member of the original line up in the 1974, Bob Jackson has consistently driven the Badfinger legacy with various Badfinger-related releases, performances, interviews, activities and events. More recently in 2013 Bob organized the Blue Plaque Concert at Swansea Grand Theatre celebrating the life of founder member Pete Ham. In 2015 he reformed Badfinger for a 23 date UK Theatre Tour playing to over 20,000 people. Late 2016 saw Badfinger back on the road for a string of UK dates over September to December including new material in the show. Audiences have delighted in the return of Badfinger to the stage, hungry to see and hear the music performed live and hear the history first hand. The reconnection has been joyous!
Just keep in mind that Bob Jackson was chosen by Tom,Joey and Mike to replace Pete Ham when he quit. When Ham rejoined they kept Jackson…he is that good
What would have solved a lot of problems if Tommy would have said Tommy's Badfinger, and Joey would have booked as Joey's Badfinger and Bob would say Boy's Badfinger. And of course if Mike with Mike's Badfinger. That way people would have had a chance to see a variety. I'm sure people would have gone to all of them.
Such a fantastic band. Even when people say they were a clone of the Beatles. They are wrong. They had the talent, the musicianship, the soul. They were screwed and their souls were battered and beaten. But not their determination to make great music for us.
@ronroe3615 I totally agree with you. I never really got in to the Beatles, ( i was only a small girl when they hit. the UK) I have recently found Badfinger through my favourite Harry Neilson "Without You", when i heard THE ORIGINAL by Badfinger i was blown away!! then i've gone on to get LP's, cd's , read All i can. They as a band with all they went through were so talented with the varied compositions they produced. Such a Huge talent lost to the future of music😥
The other 3 kept rejecting his songs..one story is he threw a cassette of songs out his attic? window. this one sounds like fleeetwood mac, one of mc vies songs.
I wish they began “another” band called Bad Finger, or The Badfingers, or something like that, to skip Polley’s contract (does anybody know if it could have been possible?)
I thought I remember hearing or reading that the individual members had signed with Polley and Warner Brothers (not the band/name)...so the answer would probably be a 'no'. That question may have been asked back when things went sideways, but all speculation at this point...
Right now, all the world needs to listen and appreciate this song. We need a Different world right now! Thank you Bob for keeping alive Badfinger, and also thank you for this song. God bless you Sir
I seriously cannot love this enough! Thanks so much, Bob, for the insight and the openness. Looking forward to hearing and watching more from you. It's a long shot you'll ever trek to Georgia, but if you do, I'll gladly attend.
Saw Bob Jackson play Badfinger music live on a boat cruise in late 2016. Had the pleasure of having a number of conversations with him about music and speciically Badfinger. One of the nicest and engaging people you would ever want to meet. An all round good bloke.
