The Mau Mau war of liberation in Kenya is of great interest to many people from around the world. It remains one of the fiercest struggles of independence from colonialism, and was the benchmark of many liberation struggles.

Interestingly, the war of did not end with Kenyan independence. Retrogressive forces have continued to disparage the gallantry of Mau Mau veterans and to skew the telling and interpretation of their history, with many compromised gilded historians regurgitating colonial propaganda whenever they write or commentate on this war.

Mau Mau Chronicles documents the history of Mau Mau in new and innovative ways, by documenting the voices of Mau Mau veterans, survivors of the war, as well as commentators on that episode of Kenyan history.

In so doing, we aim to recast the history of Mau Mau in terms that are objective, enduring and credible.

This project is dedicated to the Mau Mau fighters and generations of future Kenyans and lovers of freedom.
